Duac : Clindamycin (1.2%) and Benzoyl Peroxide (5%) Gel

I didn't have acne until I was in my twenties. They were really painful pimples on my face and I was desperate to find something that worked. My dermatologist recommended Benzaclin with a combination of Retin-A. During the first week my skin burned and flaked on the lower half of my face. Although uncomfortable, it was nothing that a generous amount of Eucerin lotion can't fix. After about two weeks I saw dramatic improvements. I didn't have anymore cystic pimples and no new ones have appeared on my face! Finally something that worked! I use this only at night now compared to using it both mornings and nights when I first started the routine. My skin has adapted well to the product and there is no more redness or burning. This product has truly been a godsend!

My mam has spent sooooo much money on acne treatments that have NEVER worked!!! I have used evrythin that u can think of!!! I tried all of the different types of medicine from Homeopathic, Chinese, Herbal, Anti-Biotics, Facial Routines, ProActiv, Saliclylic Acid treatments, Face washes u name it and i tried it!!! Then went ot doctor for a check up and he jus said that i should give it a shot and i was jus sick of it at this stage so i said ok!! My acne was inflammatory so if something irritated it it wud go bright red!! It looked like i was blushing and if i stressed or anything it jus blew up!!! Blemishes and evrything are gone which is remarkable!!! The Duac gel is so simple and easy to use.. its like rubbin in silk to ur face and no smell but slight dryin but meh!! Wats worse! This product works and maintains my skin. However, I was on this and Tazorac (tazorac at night, duac in the morning) plus 100mg of monicycline twice a day for probably about 4-5 months before the pimples went away completely. However, my skin hasn't had any breakouts or pimples (my scars are still presnt, however) for awhile. It seems to maintain skin well after everything gets cleared up. This is the only thing that has ever worked to clear my skin, so I'm sticking with it. I also use CeraVe moisturizer, which is really light and works beautifully. Also, everyone complains that this is really expensive, but I must have great insurance, because I only pay $5 for a tube.

During the summer I had 10 really big ones. Now I have 1 semi-big one and small ones. :) My doctor is really cool and gave me like 25 samples, so I don't really know how much it cost :). Very happy with results and I don't use it that often. If you have more severe cases, simply use something else.

I'd defently recomend it to other people.

About 8 years ago I started breaking out pretty bad. Adult acne is really difficult to treat. I wore zero makeup, and used good creams. I tried all the natural and organic ways to reduce acne (tea tree oil, honey, etc.). Nothing helped. Eventually my doctor prescribed me Retin-A. I used that for a year with only a slight reduction in breakouts, but still pretty covered in zits. Then my doctor put me on Doxycycline. That took a long time to work, but helped my zits a lot. However, I never was 100% clear, but I could live with a couple zits at any given moment. After I took that for 3 years, I asked my doctor to put me on something that isn't bad for my gut. We switched to the Clindamycin and Benzo duo. I slowly tapered off my Doxycycline, and slowly brought the Duac cream into my regimen. I have been on the Duac for about 4 months, and I have never had better skin. I have zero acne spots. No clogged pores. I am still using Retin-A in the evenings and Duac in the mornings. I couldn't be happier. I just hope it lasts.

This gel works miracles! I used this for about three years with retin-a and bactrim and then later doxycycline and my skin rarely had a breakout. The initial reaction was AWFUL. My skin peeled and burned so bad that I was in tears and I had such a bad initial breakout that I skipped school for a few days but I am SO glad that I was patient. In my opinion, it's more than worth it. The only complaint I have is that after I went off the treatment, my acne came right back almost immediately. After taking a break from the treatment for a few years, it no longer works.
