Pros:

It gets rid of acne quickly, plus it helps reduce oil on skin.

Cons:

Can be drying, stings first week or so when applying.

I love Benzaclin. I use Benzaclin during the day and Tazorac at night, and that combination has finally made my face clear! Before Benzaclin I would always have two or three big pimples that Tazorac would eventually get, but it was like "whack a mole." As soon as it got rid of those pimples others would appear. Using Benzaclin during the day got rid of all my pimples, and even when I feel cysts forming under my skin, the Benzaclin zaps them and they never develop. I just use a gentle cleanser, sunscreen during the day, Benzaclin and Tazorac--and no pimples! It is expensive but worth the price, in my opinion.

Pros:

It didn't make me break out more. when i did break out they weren't as huge,

Cons:

it really didn't clear my skin up that much it made my skin les oily but teh pimples still stayed teh same and the rate at which they popped up didn't really change.

It's probably better if you don't have bad acne. If you have only inflamitory acne it would probably work, but my main issue is my acne marks. : (

Adult Acne and Duac has been amazing!

Pros:

Clear skin

Cons:

Little redness and dryness during first 10 days of use only

I'm a 40 year old woman who has suffered with acne for as long as I can remember. Since having my kids it has actually got worse. Antibiotics have helped for a while but eventually the effects seem to wear off. In August this year whilst enjoying the amazing weather we were having on holiday in Cornwall I had the biggest cyst type spots appear all over my chin meaning I had to wear make up continually on the beach as I was so ashamed. I went back to my GP who changed my antibiotics but also prescribed Duac. My last experience of a cream antibiotic was years ago and my face inflamed so badly I'd always refused to try this option again however I felt I had no option but to try. So I read all these reviews first and decided to try the Duac just on my chin first and see how my skin reacted. I did get a little redness and dryness during the first 10 days but nothing that noticeable. I continued to use it for a month and have not had one spot!! I have however had a few on my forehead where I haven't used Duac. I am now using Duac all over my T zone on my face and really can't believe the difference. I know I sound like some cliched US advert but I was cynical that it could work but for me it really has. I am so so glad I have tried it and can't believe I have clear skin for the first time EVER!!!!

Pros:

Definite improvement after one use
Almost clear skin at the almost two week usage mark
Stops spots from forming
Takes only 1 or 2 nights to kill existing spots
Side effects don't seem to be permanent

Cons:

Incredible soreness and irritation the first week and a half including extreme redness, ridiculous amounts of skin peeling, tenderness to the touch, vastly increased sensitivity to sunlight and skin care products such as moisturizers, swelling.

Face still goes red in the heat or cold.

Experienced superficial scarring initially, this has since flaked off.

Skin looks tight and 'wrinkley' whilst you're still adjusting to it.

Concerns about if the product will stop be

I'm a 19 year old female with hormonal acne that has not cleared with OTC products. My acne was described by the dermatologist as 'very mild'. I consistently had a few small spots on my forehead, clogged pores on my chin and about 7 whiteheads across my cheeks at any given time, which occasional huge and painfully breakouts next to my eyebrows. I was put on oral antibiotics and Duac nearly two weeks ago now. The OAs aren't working, but... The Duac works. At first I was horrified by the side effects. However, I persevered, and they've subsided vastly. Now my forehead and next to my eyebrows are 100% clear. My chin has less clogs too. My cheeks have cleared up considerably. I now am getting very small clogged pores instead of white heads, and nowhere near as wide spread as before. I have some post acne marks that fade well with lemon juice. Every morning I woah with a natural, peppermint based soap and moisturize with 1-2 drops of pure jojoba oil. At night time I wash with the same soap, then apply Duac to my dry skin on my forehead, next to my eyebrows, on my upper cheeks and chin. I wait for this to dry and then apply jojoba oil, being careful not to spread the Duac with the jojoba. A few words of warning: Stay completely away from your eyes, mouth, and where you'd get smile lines. I left too small a gap between the Duac and my eyebags and my eyes swelled up like a cartoon character. Allow the Duac and moisturizer to dry fully before letting your hair or bedding touch your face. Wear at least factor 30 sunscreen during the day whilst using this cream, even if you only apply it at night. I recommend the ROC brand. Stop picking at your skin, it'll make your acne multiply and spread.

Pros:

Clears acne
Smooths bums
Fades some redness and dark marks
Not very drying
No smell
Dries quickly

Cons:

Can't wear with makeup (it gets flaky and very obvious)

I'd like to thank the universe for discovering this magical product. Seriously, my acne was really bad, and now it is almost not there! My skin is so smooth, if you got a blind man to feel my face he would never in a million year think I had pimples. Sure- the spots aren't exactly gone, and I always wear foundation and concealer (just to look totally flawless) but it is a MAJOR improvement. I started getting acne in 5th grade, and in 6th grade I began using OTC benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid gels. Let me tell you- CVS brand acne products are NOT very effective. My derm finally prescribed me something, and so it was about the middle of 7th grade when I started Benzaclin. Now I'm in 8th grade and it's almost funny how much my skin changed. Of course, at the start it wasn't working spectacularly, but i am so glad that I kept using it. Now, every night I smear it on religiously over my chin, upper lip, forehead and jawline, and I wake up to find a relatively okay looking complexion. Next time I go to the derm I might need to get put on something stronger to rid me of acne for good, but for now all I can say is I LOVE YOU BENZACLIN!

Pros:

Works almost immediately.

Cons:

None

I had a severe acne problem for 11 years (I am now 23). I went on medication which was only meant to be for adults but my acne was so bad I had to take it. I saw a slight improvement but when I finished the treatment the acne came back. Earlier this year I went to my GP for the first time in approx. 6 years and said I am fed up of having spots at this age! He perscribed this Duac and said it may take 6 months to see an improvement. After approx. 1 month all of my spots disappeared, I couldn't believe it. I have now been using it for 8 months and I have only had 2 new spots appear, but they weren't big. I can't explain how severe my spots were during my teens and how it affected my life, but people in my shoes need to try this. I really does work. Even now I can't believe I am spot free after 11 years.

Pros:

- cleared up acne completely
- worked fast
- affordable
-once my skin cleared up, it stayed clear even if I stopped using it everyday and only used a few times a week.

Cons:

- made skin slightly red,
- will dry and make your skin flaky for the first week then it goes away,

I love this stuff! In 7th grade my skin was horrible, ruined my self esteem and just made me feel ugly. Angry red bumps covered my forehead and cheeks, and nothing worked. I've tried multiple prescriptions, and none worked. Until I went to my doctor yet again, begging for something, anything. And he prescribed this and let me tell you, it saved my life. Within 2 weeks the biggest and angriest of my bumps disappeared. Within a month or two my skin that I tried for years to get rid of was perfectly clear! It was amazing and my self esteem rocketed back up, I got a boyfriend and fell in love for the first time. I'm in 11th grade now, and this stuff is a major yes in my skin care regime!

Pros:

Worked great, but for 5 years.

Cons:

Got immune to it after 5 years.

I usually used only plexion cream. But whenever I started breaking out bad, I incorporated this, and I was 100% clear again. Unfornately, I grew immune to this after 5 years.

Pros:

Make face really better after a day
Disinfects

Cons:

Dries skin because of BP

This product is magic. Well, almost. I am using this product about a month and biggest difference was after first night - lighter skin, smaller or dissapeared pimples, But after more than a day differences are very very small. My face is still spotted, but it really is different than how it was in the summer. My doctor prescribed this for me and I need to use it for two months. I can say that for my acne (forehead, cheeks, chin) I finished one bottle after half a month. Other thing that most of people don't like - that it dries skin very much, but it's likely for products which active ingredient is Benzoylperoxide (5%). My skin feels better. Really. The one thing what I fear most is that this product wouldn't help me later, because I see that spots don't dissapear very fast like at first. But it heals cysts very fast, and I didn't get them at all.
