Pros:

The only thing in a long while that has actually stopped the breakouts all along my cheeks.

Cons:

I broke out real bad after a few days using Duac, but after three weeks or so the breakouts started going away and now just a pimple here or there.

I think it works well for me, even having sensitive skin. I just want to tell people to hang in there if it gets worse before it gets better. My dermatologist said it 'might' get bad and she was right, but now six weeks into treatment my face looks a lot better than it has in a long time.

Pros:

It showed a marked improvement in 2-3 days. After one week consistent use, it cleared my daughters face up completely

Cons:

It can be mildly drying.

My 10yo daughters doctor prescribed this for my daughters moderate persistent acne that she has has been developing for 1 1/2 years. I tried OTC meds and they worked briefly but really overdried her skin. This has by FAR been the best and most consistent method. It works a little slower than the OTC but the effects are worth it. She's only been using it for 3 weeks but the results are astounding.

Pros:

This stuff works miracles!

Cons:

Skin does becomes dry, but if you follow your dermatologist's instructions and use a recommended moisturizer it will not be an issue. Also if you use during the day stay away from direct sun.

I had really great skin until my late 20's. I started having these huge, red, zits that would pop up dead smack in the middle of my forehead and sometimes near the my chin. (This was not cute, especially for a grown woman) Not only were they unsightly but they'd linger around for weeks! I tried everything over the counter and nothing worked. I finally went to see my derm and she provided a daily, skin regime for both day and night time. She prescribed Benzaclin for night time use. I wash my face, spot treat those areas, moisturize and voila! Just that easy. I swear I've also noticed my pores shrink, my skin hasn't look this good in years! Being in front of a camera and taking photographs it is a MUST for me to have beautiful skin...Benzaclin did the job. Though it was pricey(I was prescribed the pump) it was well worth it!

Pros:

Fast-acting; Pimples disappear within days

Cons:

Drying, peeling, burning rash

Because of the drying affect I only use spot application to dry up the pimple. Then I use clindamycin topical lotion all over my face in a very thin layer. At night I don't have to use moisturizer. In the mornings I use the spot application of benzaclin, all-over clindamycin and then sunscreen. Face looks great!

Pros:

I get the really bad cystic pimples that take forever to go away. They usually take about a week and a half to come to a head. This dried them up within a day.

Cons:

I hate that a tube only lasts 2 months before it expires. I refrigerate it to help it last longer---and that's a pain too. $50 with my co-pay, so that's $25 a month. Kind of expensive when combined with everything else I have to use for my face...

I can deal with the price and any other cons because so far this is the only thing that has worked for me. (I use it with Tazorac....Duac in the morning, Tazorac at night.) It's nice not to have to deal with Proactive or Murad et. My derm. recommended a basic cleanser and moisturizer. Said I really shouldn't be adding any more benzol or salacylic acid to the regimin with these 2 prescriptions.

Pros:

Really works well! Most effective treatment I have used (have tried blu-u light, dieting, accutane, pro-activ, retin-a, etc.)

Cons:

Very expensive! Does not clear all of acne, but helps maintain skin. Dries skin.

If you've tried everything w/ no results, this is as close as you can get to an acne miracle saver. Duac studies show that nearly 60% of people see an improvement within weeks (read the prescribing info that comes w/ the medicine, interesting stuff). Within a year I went from 20-30 pimples to 2-3. Not useful against redmarks. It hasn't kept me 100% clear, but the medicine is still very effective. I always fear they'll stop making the stuff! If you haven't had luck, try Dan's way and use a LOT more on your face. If I skip a couple days... the pimples return. So unfortunetly I think my skin is dependant on it. It's quite expensive too. Without insurance its like $150 a tube. A tube last me about 1.5 months. I always recommend this stuff.

Pros:

Clears up pimples quick

Cons:

Leaves skin swollen, red, dry, puffy, hot, itchy

I had used this product for maybe two years after other products had been too strong and destructive towards my skin. In the past few months-I have been getting some sort of allergic reaction from it as my eyes have swollen shut and the skins on my face becomes extremely red, puffy, itchy, hot. While it DOES clear up acne, the side-effects are not worth the pain

Pros:

Good product! Heals acne FAST! Evens skin tone.

Cons:

Dries skin out but not too badly. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS EXACTLY and only use a SMALL amount. I reccommend to NOT use a moisturizer bc it can make things worse. It will only appear to be dry after the first hour of application, after its fine.

Overall its a great product/ Ive only been on it for 3 days but ive seen improvment fast. Even thought its a bit pricey, i highly reccomend it. And ive tried EVERYTHING. even proactive, which didnt help.

Pros:

Works fast, bleaches blackheads, if you have an open pore from a pimple it will seep in and dry out the pimple fast.

Cons:

Works only temporarily- 6 mths to a year, then your skin adjusts. Bleaches towels and clothes like pro-active and clear-skin regime. Expensive.

I've used this for a year, worked alone for 9 months, then alternating evenings with Rx Differin. Together these worked for awhile, and now my skin returned to the same, no worse, no better. I never had burns or major stinging, and no redness. Do not over-apply, this will waste product, and results will not change. I read all the postings on this before I took it, this info should help you. I keep Benzaclin in my make-up bag for emergencies- It does clear up the juicers. (Eww, lol.) I'm only taking Differin because my pharmacist suggested it, but I am switching to baking soda after reading the postings on it.

Pros:

My face has cleared up significantly since using this process and the one new pimple that I did get went down quickly.

Cons:

My face is definitely itchy & extremely dry;made the mistake of using a moisturizer w/salicylic acid & it BURNED my face more than it normallly does; face looks like it's sunburnt and red & feels stiff like leather.

I'm not sure what to make of this product yet because it's only been one week since I've used it, but so far the acne seems to be clearing up (though I've been in some physical discomfort as a result...i.e. burning sensation on my face as well as an itchy face). However, my face still has these darkened spots which I believe are acne scars, but overall, minus the redness and flakiness, my face has looked better. Hopefully, it will only get better from here.
