Pros:

Works where eveything else has failed - from Proactive to Murad to pills, etc.
Greatly reduced acne and unlike other products, after a year of use, it is still working for me.

Cons:

Very costly. I use it every night and if I miss a night or 2, its usually not good.
Does probably dry out my skin a little bit.
Also, I occasionally have some constipation I believe caused by Duac, but nothing severe enough to make me stop usin

The side effects don't really matter at all if this is the only thing that is going to work for you. Yeah, it does make my redder and have a weird texture after use, but I use it at night, so it doesn't matter. I went to my doctor, not a specialist, for a meningitis shot and saw a pamphlet in his office. After blowing about 500$ seeking the advice of 2 specialists as well as purchasing the meds they prescribed, I'm glad I was lucky and finally found something that worked. I used proactive and it stopped working for me after about a month.

Pros:

Helped with acne if you use it as told. No slacking.

Cons:

Skin will become dry and red when first starting use but will become better and get used to it after about a month. Takes a while to see results .. (about a month)

If you use this product as told and dont slack it will work. When my face was as bad as it has ever been I finally decied to go to the derm. There I was told to use the Duac Gel in the day along with doxicilnye(twice a day) and at night I used Diffren Gel. When using this product be sure to not use any other acne medication unless percribed because this will dry the face. MAKE SURE TO MOISTERIZE WITH SPF BEFORE OR AFTER APPLYING AND USE A GENTALE CLEANSER WHEN WASHING THE FACE. I have been using this for about a month and a half and I have seen improvments in my face, I hardly have cycts and not much zits and the rest that are there are small. I have my next derm appt next month, he said it will take about 2 full months until I see full results using these products. Its working and as long as you stick to it and listen to what your derm says I belive it will help. It is for me and my face was covered with modreate acne and cycts along my jawline chin and cheeks .Stick with it!.

Pros:

It really DOES work. My blemishes have become smaller and the area around it has slightly lost its redness.

Cons:

It dries out your skin, and once i stop using it, the redness comes back. Even though my doctor suggested to use it once a day, I find that when i wash my face in the morning, the redness comes back, so I need to re-apply.

If youre looking for immediate results, i HIGHLY recommend this!!

Pros:

I love this product. I also use it with a sulfur based cleanser, prascion.Started working within the first week of use. My skin is dramatically different after one month.

Cons:

Only over drying when you apply too much. A small amount will work. Don't forget to ex foliate while using this product(aspirin tablet).

Really worth a try. I have very dry skin. So it's very hard to find a product that is not over drying. This has been working very well on my skin. I also suggest using Kiehls facial lotion if you have dry skin.

Pros:

Clears up acne and minimizes appearance of scars pretty fast.

Cons:

Dried my skin up a bit for the first week. Moisturizer is your friend :)

I've been dealing with pretty frustrating acne for three years and finally just went to the dermatologist. This stuff has almost completely cleared up my acne and has made my acne scarring vanish. :)

Pros:

Drastically reduced the amount and inflammation of my minor case of acne. My skin had never been terrible, but Benzaclin zapped all of the small bumps on my forehead and I haven't had any new zits on my nose since.

Cons:

It DOES dry out your skin, even if you have oily skin. I only used Benzaclin at night before bed, however, after I applied it I would wait half an hour and then apply an oil-free moisturizer to my face; I applied moisturizer in the AM too.

Excellent treatment for acne, but you MUST make sure you moisturize your face every day, and you must wash it off in the morning and wash your face before applying at night. I recommend the Mario Badescu Oil-free Moisturizer with spf 15, it did not bother my easily irritated skin and within one application all the flakes were gone for the day. Also, Benzaclin lowers your skin's defense to the sun, SO MAKE SURE YOU WEAR SOMETHING WITH SPF!

Pros:

Works well. Used samples from the doctor, so didn't pay for anything. But, I think it's $160.00

Cons:

Can be drying. Has a very short shelf life.

When I turned 19, I started breaking out, but occasionally. However, going into my sophomore year of college, my face was completely covered with PAINFUL pimples. Famimly would comment about what happened to my skin. There would be times when I would just start crying to my mother. It couldn't have been hereditary because my parents and and siblings never suffered from such extreme acne. I tried everything. What really worsened my skin was that Clinique system. I used it b/c a good friend, who had great skin, used it. I figured I would get the same results. WRONG. I erupted in little zits all over my forehead.I went to the doctor and he first started my on clindamycin. It gradually got better (zits weren't as painful). Then, he "stepped it up" and had me stop using clindamycin and start using benzaclin. It did the trick. Within two months, my skin was back to normal.Scars are now gone too (4 months). I still get the occasional monthly zit from hormones, but that's expe
