Pros:

Clears up acne on forehead perfectly, with no drying effects - gets to work here within 3 days.

Cons:

On my other problem area - the jawline & chin it is very drying, probably because skin here is a lot more sensitive.
Does not work on body acne

Free in the UK on perscription, not good for senstive areas of skin or the body.

Pros:

Reduces acne inflammation and works well if you have oily skin as the "dry skin" or "tightening" of the skin side effect is not as apparent.
It also helps dry up skin surface oil which can be a catalyst for more acne.

Cons:

It does not address the real root cause of acne.

Address the problem inside out. I am 100% convinced that acne is caused by a hormonal imbalance which causes an excess increase in oil production which gets clogged in the hair follicle, which is where the infection starts. You can tell by the appearance of the pimple whether it is hormonal or not ie. when the pimple hurts and looks like a red inflamed pastule/nodule it is hormonal. So treating this in conjunction with prescribed topical treaments is critical. Go to your doctor, do blood tests at the right time of the month to check your hormone balance. Spend the money and get expert advice. Consider the impact to your life - it is a small price to pay. It is a clinical problem unique to you. Don't get fooled by all the marketing product hype on which products are best. Your biology is unique to you and there is no "one size fits all" to this problem. DO NOT SQUEEZE - SQUEEZING PUSHES THE INFECTION DEEPER INTO THE SKIN, CAUSING MORE PIMPLES AND SCARS DUE TO BREAKING THE SKIN

Pros:

It takes awhile to work (about 2 weeks until you see full results) but once it does it works very well.

Cons:

Dry skin

I've been using it for a few years and it's been doing a great job. The doctor said i would probably grow out of it and just these last couple months I have noticed it's not working as well as before, so i think my skin has finallky worked up an immunity to it. It worked great though for the past 5 yrs.

Pros:

The product works really well if used consistantly.

Cons:

It dried out my skin like no other! And after using it for 3 months my skin started to peel ALL over and there was no moisturiser or anything that would help it, so I stopped using it and ALL my acne came back worse that before, like 10 times worse.

It's a great medicine, I just hate the fact that because I stopped using it, my face, back and shoulders broke out 100000 times worse than my acne was before, I regret ever using the medicine and stopping using it. I would rather have the acne I had before Duac than the acne I have now. I'm trying to use it again, hopefully my face won't peel as bad.

Pros:

It really works, and it works fast!

Cons:

Dries out the skin a little bit, and can be a little pricy if you don't have insurance, but it is a small price to pay...

I am 22 years old, have had beautiful skin up until about 3 months ago. I started to break out bad on the sides of my mouth and jawline. I would say that my acne was pretty minor, but never having a pimple a day in my life I was freaking out. I have very oily skin so this medication worked very well for me. I would recommend this to anyone who has oily skin. I saw my derm. on tues, now it's sunday and my skin is completely clear! She perscribed benzclin to me along with an antibiotic but she said that the antibiotic would take at least 4 weeks to make a difference so im pretty sure this magical cream did the job! My skin is clear and it even helped out with the redness of past scar marks. Bottom line, this stuff is amazing!

Pros:

Did clear up my skin a bit for a few days but it seemed to lose its effectiveness towards the end of the month.

Cons:

Tube is too small. You need to put more on than directed for it to be effective, but then your skin dries out as a result. Doesnt work on back acne.

It does work and is probably great if you have mild acne, but it wont get rid of cysts or serious acne. It doesnt smell and feels good on your skin and only is drying if you put too much on. Good value as I get it free.

Pros:

it cleared up my acne but took 3 whole months to do it

Cons:

initial breakouts and scars

i had some minor pimples on my cheek and temple..i used duac wit Doryx and had a horrible initial reaction to it the 1st week...i broke out bad! one small pimple turned into a 5 in an area...so i went back to my derm and he told me to keep using it (idiot) and that i won't see result until after 2-3 months. its almost 3 months now and my acne cleared up..what sucks about duac is that it left me with a bunch of scars and discolartion from the initial breakout...well hopefully they'll go away after the summer...acne sucks! da anti-social disease...i hate it so much! well i hope it works for u too...

Pros:

Only been using it for a week or so, but my larger spots seem to be going away already which I tend to get on my neck, jawline and lower cheeks. Hasn't dried out my skin.

Cons:

The tube is quite small.

Seems to be working slowly but surely but isn't good if you get acne on your back/arms etc like I do, so is probably better to use in conjunction with an aural medication. Seems pricey in USA as you don't get cheap/free prescriptions like you do here in the UK! :)
