Pros:

The stuff in the tube has a fresh, clean smell.

Cons:

This does not work.

This made my acne much worse and a lot more persistent.

The instructions are too involved. Use a new washcloth for every application? Really?

The soap smells fatty and feels greasy; a "natural" scent is one thing, but the putrid odor of freshly-boiled tallow is quite another.

A little about my skin: I am a male with oily, sensitive skin, and I rarely get acne worse than whiteheads and blackheads. However, this stuff (I used the extra-strengtha formula) exacerbated my acne problem: within days, it gave me big bumps deep underneath my skin, red patches, and a lot more whiteheads than I was used to. I stuck to the instructions religiously and had faith in it, but sadly, it never worked for me. I used it for a little over three months before tossing it in the garbage and going to a dermatologist to seek a real treatment. In my experience, these "home remedies" or "homemade" products tend not to have been commercialized for a reason: they don't work. For anyone interested, I ditched this stuff in favor of prescription Benzaclin, which has done wonders for my skin. Luckily, Mylan now offers a $10 generic version. If someone had the same problems I did with Carley's, go to a doctor/dermatologist and ask about Benzaclin.

Pros:

Great customer service

Cons:

Not a good regimen (medicated cleanser)

Require using bar soap on face (you should never)

Irritating (Not sure which ingredient(s) exactly)

This is my second review of Carley's acne regimen. After giving it plenty of time, I've decided to ditch it and here's why. 3 reasons why Carley's regimen does NOT work as well as Acne.org regimen. # 1 - They use a medicated cleanser Medicated cleansers are not more effective for treating acne than unmediated cleansers because the medication is not on the skin long enough to have any real effect. If you let the cleanser sit on your skin in hopes of giving the medication time to work, you're also giving the surfactants in the cleanser time to irritate your skin. The reason why Acne.org's method works better is because generous amount of BP is applied on a dry skin by itself, allowing it to be absorbed without competing with other chemicals. # 2 - They instruct you to use bar soap on face. Bar soaps in general are should NOT be used in acne-prone face because it damages your acid mantle, letting in more bacteria and toxins and then making your condition worse. Do not use bar soap while on Benzoyl Peroxide. It can strip and overdry the skin. Their natural soap is great but just not for your face. # 3 - Irritating I have been a longtime user of Benzoyl Peroxide, so it usually does not irritate me when I switch to a different BP product. However, Carley's BP cleanser with mix of using their bar soap on my face has irritated my face with consistent small red bumps. Their moisturizer also stings and made my face bit red too. Moisturizers should not sting! (unless it has chemical exfoliants).

I've been using this product for two-months now hoping it would be the miracle cure that i was looking for. after all the positive reviews i decided to give it a try but it let me down. i followed the instructions step by step but my acne remained the same. very disappointing, waste of money.

Cons:

It made my skin and acne worse! Customer Service wasn't that great!

I was so excited to receive my Carley's Clear & Smooth based on all of the positive reviews it has received. I felt based on the positive results of others, I had found my miracle system. I was also looking forward to saving money versus paying for expensive dermatologist visits and buying Proactiv. However, this product made my skin and acne worse! I followed the directions word for word. It seemed to work the first few days, but after that my skin was extremely oily, itchy, red and agitated. It also made my blackheads worse and my skin look dirty. After washing my face with the treatment, my face felt like it was on fire and about to burn off! My acne became very cystic around my nose and on my chin. I contacted Steve a number of times about the problems I was encountering in hopes of getting some good advice. Other reviews raved about his great customer service, when in fact he was very short in his answers with me and not very helpful. After about a month of trying to use the products faithfully and without success--not to mention the same problems, he told me to send it back. I wasn't satisfied with his response and wanted the product to work so bad that I continued to try an additional month. Unfortunately, I still experienced the burning, redness, itching, and even worse cystic acne than before. I sent everything back and on a positive note, Steve promptly refunded my money. I was disappointed Carley's didn't work for me, especially considering so many other people feel it works wonders for them. I am thankful for my Dermatologist and Proactiv! They do work!

Pros:

-Does make your face feel squeeky clean
-You get alot of free samples

Cons:

- drys out your skin
- fragrance doesn't smell that great
- when they packaged my items my moisturizer exploded inside the box

<-- I USED THE ADULT FORMULA, BAR SOAP, DAY TIME moisturizer AND NIGHT TIME moisturizer + carly's makeup So! Im a 20 year old female victim of acne for several years now. Ive been to dermatologists, used over the counter stuff and nothing seems to work. I came upon Carley's online & decided to try it. BOY WAS THAT A BIGG MISTAKE! i was drawn by the "millions" of good reviews & thought it was worth a shot. I followed directions & did everything like i was suppose to for a month. I started realizing red patches on each side of my face, thinking the beads from the formula was the cause. but nothing of it. Even while using moisturizer my face was still dry and began itching. I then stopped using the product b.c my face couldn't stand it anymore. My face began to itch forever and ever and would never go away. I went to a dermatologist yesterday and she said i had a bacterial infection on my face caused from irritation of the skin. So Ughh! im on medication & will return every

Pros:

It is affordable. You get alot for the money. Free samples.

Cons:

It broke my daughter out terribly. Worse than before she started. We kept with it for over a month. Did exactly how they instruct to use it. But each week she kept getting worse. More acne in places she didn't used to get it.

It may work for some. But my daughter is a young teen and it did not work for her. We even got the Kick A** Teen Formula. We are still trying to heal what this has done to her face. It is affordable and read so many great reviews but I guess everyone is different. Maybe it is better for adult acne? I am thinking that the exfoliating everyday really irritated her skin, even when done gently. She used it over a month, some say you need to keep at it for up to three months. Well I could not put my daughter through that. Crying everynight because of her face. She had to face the cruel remarks of middle school kids daily.

Pros:

came with free samples

Cons:

made me break out horribly

I have had bad skin for years now. I came on here one night and read a bunch of reviews for a lot of different products. I ran across Carley's and read mostly all of the reviews good and bad and googled it for more info and decided to buy it. pretty much i thought that the first week it was working, i mean i was using everything the way it was supposed to be used... THEN the second week i started breaking out but figured it was normal since products make you break out then clear you up. But no. It got worse and WORSE! I stopped using it after about a month because my skin got awful and the break outs werent going away. Now im just now starting to heal my skin from the damage that this product caused, little bumps and big ones and rashes that itch :( please be careful before using this product, even if you think you have strong skin and its not sensetive b/c thats what i thought, i thought my skin could handle anything, wrong.

Pros:

They have good customer support and replies promptly to questions...And they offer a "Money back Guarantee".

Cons:

Didn't help with my mild acne. Changed my status from mild acne sufferer to Moderate-Severe Acne.

Considering I only have mild acne,it made my face looked really terrible.Clogged my pores, had breakouts on areas which I don't have a problem before.I followed all instructions carefully but still it made my face looked horrible. They say it takes a while to see an improvement but they didn't say anything bout it getting worse. Now my face is a mess and everyone at work asks me what happened to my face.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON TRYING THIS ONE.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.BEWARE!
