Pros:

Great customer service

Cons:

Not a good regimen (medicated cleanser)

Require using bar soap on face (you should never)

Irritating (Not sure which ingredient(s) exactly)

This is my second review of Carley's acne regimen. After giving it plenty of time, I've decided to ditch it and here's why. 3 reasons why Carley's regimen does NOT work as well as Acne.org regimen. # 1 - They use a medicated cleanser Medicated cleansers are not more effective for treating acne than unmediated cleansers because the medication is not on the skin long enough to have any real effect. If you let the cleanser sit on your skin in hopes of giving the medication time to work, you're also giving the surfactants in the cleanser time to irritate your skin. The reason why Acne.org's method works better is because generous amount of BP is applied on a dry skin by itself, allowing it to be absorbed without competing with other chemicals. # 2 - They instruct you to use bar soap on face. Bar soaps in general are should NOT be used in acne-prone face because it damages your acid mantle, letting in more bacteria and toxins and then making your condition worse. Do not use bar soap while on Benzoyl Peroxide. It can strip and overdry the skin. Their natural soap is great but just not for your face. # 3 - Irritating I have been a longtime user of Benzoyl Peroxide, so it usually does not irritate me when I switch to a different BP product. However, Carley's BP cleanser with mix of using their bar soap on my face has irritated my face with consistent small red bumps. Their moisturizer also stings and made my face bit red too. Moisturizers should not sting! (unless it has chemical exfoliants).

people, i am the first it seems to write a negative review about this product, as a blog. But i am going to tell of my personal experience. THIS PRODUCT DOE NOT WORK AT ALL. I do not understand how this is one of the top rated products on here, because there are so many things wrong with it that will only cause break outs. Number 1. Scrubbing you face with a wash cloth is a BAD idea. BAD BAD BAD. It causes so much inflammation and is terrible for acne. Number two. THe scrub that is supposed to clear your acne has so many harsh oils in it and ingredients that will of course clog your pores. It has really bizarre ingredients, you should look into them and see what they are--you will be shocked. Plus, the benzoyl peroxide in it doesn't stay on your skin long enough to do anything to help your acne. Number three, bar soap is a bad idea. PERIOD. Let me tell my story:I got this product because i fell for all the "fantastic" reviews on this site. And now, i believe all of those reviews are fake. I got the product, and was so excited, because i finally thought i found something that would clear my acne-which really wasn't that bad but i though that it was-but i had no idea how bad it could get until i used this product. I bought it and the first day my skin felt great after using it. It was exfoliated basically. But then, after a week, i developed tiny bumps EVERYWHEREEEEE. I assumed it was just the purging process. But then it got worse. and worse. and worse. but then it seemed to be clearing again, so i figured it was done. But no. suddenly, i developed SEVERE CYSTIC ACNE that took absolutely the longest time possible ever to go away. the zits were huge, painful, embarrassing, and left big red scars by the time they finally went away. I was so determined that this would be THE product though, because i was so convinced by the reviews on this site and the carley's site. I was emotionally wrecked, lost my social life because i didn't want to go anywhere, and

Pros:

Nice customer service, large bottle, free samples.

Cons:

Made me break out worse than ever.

This is rare for me. Truthfully, I signed up JUST to post a negative review about this product and I reeeallly wish I didn't have to. From the moment I saw all the great reviews for this product on here and other places, I wanted to love it. Natural ingredients, relatively inexpensive, nice customer service, the works. Boyyyy do I feel like a sucker. For some history, I have had acne for about 8 years and have gone through Proactiv, Dan's regimen, doxycycline, and various over the counter products. All of these products had relatively controlled my acne to the point where I could deal with it. Obviously, wanting perfectly clear skin was something I really wanted, so I jumped from Dan's regimen to try Carley's. I have NEVER EVER EVERRRRRR had worse acne than after 5 months of using this product. The sad thing is that the customer service people convinced me to buy the stronger version after my first had run out and -- shocker of the year -- my acne continued to get worse! 2 months later and my face is STILL recovering from the damage caused by this product -- cystic acne all over my chin and cheeks. Listen, I don't want to say that the people putting positive reviews up about this product are lying but -- something is fishy. Take a look at negative reviews for this product and see how many people say how BADLY it ruined their face. Then check out negative reviews of other products. They say things like "acne didn't improve" and "nothing changed, waste of money" but rarely do ALL of the negative reviews say "this product made my face worse than it has ever been!". Lastly, the fact that they encourage you to wash with a washcloth, which is insanely abrasive AND to wash with regular soap -- 2 things that are just idiotic in my opinion. I just felt the need to tell everyone my experience and I hope it has helped one way or another. Good luck to all with your acne -- hopefully one day we will find an acne panacea.

I've been using this product for two-months now hoping it would be the miracle cure that i was looking for. after all the positive reviews i decided to give it a try but it let me down. i followed the instructions step by step but my acne remained the same. very disappointing, waste of money.

Cons:

It made my skin and acne worse! Customer Service wasn't that great!

I was so excited to receive my Carley's Clear & Smooth based on all of the positive reviews it has received. I felt based on the positive results of others, I had found my miracle system. I was also looking forward to saving money versus paying for expensive dermatologist visits and buying Proactiv. However, this product made my skin and acne worse! I followed the directions word for word. It seemed to work the first few days, but after that my skin was extremely oily, itchy, red and agitated. It also made my blackheads worse and my skin look dirty. After washing my face with the treatment, my face felt like it was on fire and about to burn off! My acne became very cystic around my nose and on my chin. I contacted Steve a number of times about the problems I was encountering in hopes of getting some good advice. Other reviews raved about his great customer service, when in fact he was very short in his answers with me and not very helpful. After about a month of trying to use the products faithfully and without success--not to mention the same problems, he told me to send it back. I wasn't satisfied with his response and wanted the product to work so bad that I continued to try an additional month. Unfortunately, I still experienced the burning, redness, itching, and even worse cystic acne than before. I sent everything back and on a positive note, Steve promptly refunded my money. I was disappointed Carley's didn't work for me, especially considering so many other people feel it works wonders for them. I am thankful for my Dermatologist and Proactiv! They do work!

Pros:

Cheap, Good customer service

Cons:

Destroyed my face, deep scarring, cystic acne with multiple whiteheads forming every day, one on top of the other! Red marks that will take a long time to go away...

Like many other reviews I stuck with this product for about six weeks. After seeing my chin and upper lip explode in horrendous cysts, countless dozens of white bumps, and red marks I decided to give up. At this point I have honestly given up ALL acne treatments as my skin is so damaged at this point I think doing nothing couldn't make it much worse. If you do try this, which I do not recommend, I say DON'T be patient. If you notice an extreme reaction, as I did within the first week, STOP. Yes, sometimes skin reacts to new treatments, but I have never used a product (and I have used many) that has caused so much of a bad effect. If it works for you, great. I think there are better options for a BP topical.

This skin care line is a scam! The reviews are fake! I tried this line for two weeks and caused major breakouts. This is what brought me to try acne.org regimen!

Pros:

Smooth skin, not necessarily pimple-free though
All natural
AMAZING customer service
Great pricing

Cons:

Everything else
Scars your skin
Bigger cysts begin to develop under your skin
Doesn't feel like it, but scratches your skin and damages

Honestly, all the bad reviews that people left seem to be the only ones that are valid

I broke out even more after using this, and though it may have gotten rid of pimples, where the pimples once were, were dark, deep scars that wouldn't go away even after 3 months. It was as if it just scratched it off. I did give it time, as they told me to be patient over and over, but just didn't work for me. Hoped for the miracle everyone promised it would be, but good luck to you if you try it!

Pros:

the bar soap was easy to wash off

Cons:

this stuff JACKED my face up
smells bad
time consuming
dry skin

When i started using this, I would normally have one to two pimples on my face. By the end of using this, I had cystic pimples all over my face (which i RARELY got before using this), and dry/flakey skin. I REALLY wish i would have never used this. I'm pretty hesitant to believe that this many people have had success using it.
