Pros:

Clears skin, simple, nice pump, nice slickery feeling

Cons:

Drying, can't use for eye-makeup so not a multi-tasker, chemical-smell

While this is an effective cleanser, it is really, really drying. Perhaps this is part of living in the desert, though, so I'm not ready to write it off. However, I want a product that will also effectively remove my eye makeup while washing and effectively clean my skin. I'm probably going to go back to Philosophy's Purity Made Simple, which I have used for several years. I love Daniel's other products (Treatment and AHA), though, and will stick with them for the duration. The chemical smell (as mentioned by others) is not pleasant, but I have gotten used to it, and if the product met my needs better, I'd be able to overlook it as it wasn't completely offensive.

Pros:

Gentle.

Cons:

Didn't clean well.

Everyone's skin is different and this cleanser simply did not do anything for me. It dried my skin out more than anything else.

Pros:

Lathers well, a little goes a long way

Cons:

Too drying.
Contains sulfates, which is disappointing.

It does a good job when it comes to removing dirt and makeup, but is super drying. It feels like it strips my skin completely. It could simply be because I'm not used to using a product that contains sulfates. I'm switching back to Burt's Bees ASAP.

Pros:

smooth, not irritating, cleanse well

Cons:

drys skin, doesn't get rid of dead skin as much

this is the only thing I don't like of Dan's products. It cleans well but it leaves my skin very dry when I'm using full dosage of BP. I've switched to Cetaphill gentle cleanser and found it to be less drying, and it also removes dead skin well when rubbed gently because it's more stickier compare to Dan's cleanser.

Pros:

-Feels good on skin and easy to lather (which i love!)
-Leaves my skin feeling clean
-pH balanced which is very important

Cons:

-Shipping to Ireland made this product quite expensive for me

This is a very good cleanser and people should definitely give it a go. For people in the UK there is a similar product called la roche posay which they may find cheaper, and is also pH balanced like this product :)

Pros:

cleanses well
removes all dirt, oils, etc
doesn't smell bad
has a pump
only need about half a pump
lathers well

Cons:

VERY drying!
tight skin after, need a very good moisturizer

it would be a great cleanser if it didn't dry my skin out so much. even the acne.org moisturizer wasn't enough to combat the dryness from this and the BP after it. having to put on the BP after my skin had been stripped of all its moisture was awful. i had to switch my facial cleanser but i still use this for washing body acne and bacne

Pros:

non comedogenic!!!

Cons:

too drying after several weeks of use

my skin is combination, ultra sensitive and reactive. initially great then I had to discontinue for daily use after several weeks stripped my lipid barrier, skin felt tight after washing. For a while I also used this as a shampoo. What I love and that preserves my lipid barrier is Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser, Another non comedogenic wipe off (no water) option may be (Bioderma) Micellar water. Avoiding sodium chloride in shampoo and cleanser was a game changer.

Pros:

cheap, it lathers and foams very well. Cleans skin.

Cons:

is very drying! ! not recommended for oily skin or dry skin.

well so much for a gentle cleanser Dan. Have you guys looked at the list of ingredients yeah cucumber is there among with other chemicals. As far as a cleanser it really is a good cleanser it cleans your skin good. I don't recommended for acne since acne is produced by oil. My face is very oily so i tried this and since it dries your skin it made it more oily not good. So bottom line i don't know how so many people put good reviews since is too drying for oily skin which is not good and for people with dry skin i think it might be worst. Not impressed, disappointed.

Good, but would not repurchase
It's a pretty good gentle cleanser that can remove makeup, but the preservatives used in the cleanser are carcinogenic and extremely dangerous for the skin in the long haul. If I had checked the ingredients before purchasing I would not have bought it, but I was swayed by its affordability. After I finish my bottle I'm not going to repurchase. If the company considers switching out the preservative in the cleanser to a more gentle preservative like sodium benzoate, I would give it a second chance. But I'm not that familiar with the pricing of skincare ingredients though, so it might significantly up the price.

I had a terrible reaction to the preservative (quaternium-15) that is found in this cleanser. It took me months to figure out what was causing my eyelids to become red, itchy and scaly. This company definitely needs to reformulate this product!
