Pros:

- Works
- Price

Cons:

None

I haven't had clear skin since I was 16. Being 22 and still having 10-15 pimples was frustrating. In a week and a half Spectro Jel completely cleared my skin. I use a light exfoliate before I use Spectro jell and I do this twice a day (morning, night). For the first time in 6 years my skin is clear, I don't need make-up and I have a different appearance confidence that I haven't felt before... my skin is glowing and healthy. I only hope everyone can have the amazing results I had in just a week and a half. Good luck!!!! :)

Amazing, but it does take some getting used to.

Pros:

Gentle and non-drying
Makes skin soft
Reduces redness and improves skin texture

I have suffered from moderate to severe acne for many years (about 20 actually). I have spent literally thousands of dollars on treatments, products, facials, machines, you name it! But my cystic acne and my really deep black heads would not budge. I always attacked my face with the most anti-bacterial, harshest scrubs, pro-active, accutane, and deep cleansing masks I could find (I know now that this was just exacerbating my problem). Finally, one day, I thought I'd try the super gentle approach and see if it improved the condition of my skin (I had nothing to loose, it was already so so bad). I was really skeptical, plus it did not feel like it was cleaning and felt really weird to rub this stuff on a dry face but, lo and behold, this stuff worked! It does not lather or foam! Even with water it stays gel-ish. I use about 3 full pumps on my dry face (after I remove my mascara) and massage it it circles all over my face (concentrating on areas where my black heads like to form). After about 1 minute of rubbing this on, I rinse my face really really well with lukewarm water. I found the more I rinse the softer my skin feels. I use this every night and occasionally in the mornings. My black heads are much MUCH better now, the redness has been drastically reduced (I can go out of the house and feel confident with no foundation or concealer to hide chronic redness), and moisturizers WORK now, instead of just making black heads worse and my skin greasy (I use Calia All Natural Skin Moisturizer everyday in conjunction with Spectro Jel and it has changed my life). My skin is very dry/dehydrated and sensitive. I find that I don't even need to exfoliate as much anymore (maybe once per week or once every 2 weeks) since switching to this cleanser. I have been using it for two years, faithfully and consistently, because every time I try something else my skin looks and feels terrible. Once you start trying this, give it at least two weeks of using Spectro every day before you expect visible improvements. Good Luck!

Pros:

cheap
works
cleans face
doesn't strip face
protects skin
no harsh chemicals
clears skin in days

Cons:

absolutely no cons. it's risk free so try it.

People with moderate-severe acne should not be compaining that this product didn't work for them because it's not supposed to treat acne. It's for people with a small amount of pimples. IF YOU HAVE ACNE USE THE ORANGE BOTTLE NOT THE PURPLE ONE.

Pros:

I've tired tons and tons of face cleansers, I don't have acne, but I do get pimples and this is the only product that actually works. Yeah I still get pimples from time to time, however my face is clear most of the time.

Cons:

It's kind of pricey, however lasts for a couple months so I guess it's worth it in the end.

Spector gel really works!! Would highly recommend it.

gentle cleanser
My dermatologist recommended this to me and I am so glad that this product came into my life. It is so gentle. Spectro Jel leaves my skin feeling soft and lightly moisturized. I love it. It won't remove your eye makeup so you will have to use eye makeup remover prior to cleansing. It does remove my foundation though.

Pros:

Works very well
Smells fine

Cons:

Can't think of one

Bottom line, give it time. When we use many other commercial cleansers they strip your face of all oils good and bad that can cause signs of early aging...yuck! When you use those harsh cleansers your skin will over compensate and often produce more oils and you'll feel the need wash more often. Also the feeling of dry tight skin can be associated with the feeling of being clean and it's really not the case you'll just have a face of drying chemicals. Aka benzoyl peroxide I'm not saying all other face washes are bad but many just perpetuate the problem. No matter what you use the two most important things are...Balance meaning moisture and cleansing. And last but not least Routine...our skin is like a Nickel cadmium battery. Charge it when it needs charging but not every chance you get or it will work like crap. Simple and consistent wins the clear skin race.

Pros:

LOVE THIS! I started using this about three years ago, and everytime I try something else I always come back to this because everything else it too drying! If you look at the ingredients, they are all non irritating and there are no unnecessary extra ingredients like fragrance or exotic sounding plant extracts that really do very little. I find it works best if you splash your face with water, pat it so it is just damp then gently rub the cleanser in circular motions for 30 sec to 1 minute.

Cons:

For us gals who use foundation: it is not a strong enough cleanser to remove makeup. Unfortunately, cleansers which effectively remove makeup are also quite harsh (in my experiences). I am one of those people who will NOT leave the house without foundation, so what I do is use a bit of Neutrogena's Makeup Removing Cleansing Lotion (also a gentle product) and wipe off with a tissue before using Spectro.

The bottom line is, the pros without a doubt outweigh the con of not being a makeup remover. It is excellent at cleansing "naked" skin while maintaining the moisture in the stratum corneum (top layer of skin). Oh, I use the stuff with the purple label for sensitive and blemish prone skin.

Finally a Product That Worked
As a teenager I never used to get acne (only a pimple here and there every few weeks). However, in my early twenties my skin changed and I started getting cystic acne. I tried many products and nothing worked as well as I would have liked. That is, until I started using Spectro Gel. My stepmother actually had recommended it to me (she swears by it) and I understand why she likes it so much. My face cleared up within weeks and now I get the occasional pimple once in awhile. On most days I even wash my face once a day and it still works wonders! I love that even if I have combination skin, the blemish-prone skin product doesn't make my skin too dried in my dryer areas, even during those dry Winter months! When using the product, I highly recommend you take about a minute or so to massage the product on your face. It may seem strange at first since it doesn't foam (it's more like a gel). Also, you should give yourself about six weeks to see if it works for you.

Pros:

Not too pricey
Felt good on my skin
Cleared up my face
Doesn't make my skin oily
Big bottle, lasts ages

Cons:

Smell was odd at first, not bad

I had originally bought the Spectro Jel Deep Pore Vanishing lotion and when it took out most of my harsh acne, I decided to give the rest of the line a try. This cleanser is absolutely wonderful. Combined with the product I mentioned above and their moisturizing facial lotion, my face is looking almost 100% clear and almost oil free! I had tried other cleansers and acne products with no luck, but this cleanser is a total skin saver! Bottom line is, after you get used to the smell (which isn't even that pungent) it's an excellent buy, it does what the bottle claims, the price isn't too bad and I fell in love with this product after the first use. I use 1 pump, morning and night, every day and I've never felt so confident in my skin. I hope everyone else can share a similar experience to mine, Good luck!
