Pros:

Acne minimizer

Cons:

None

We used to use this whenever we got bad sunburn as children. My mom mixed corn starch and rose water whenever we ran out of calamine. I am 30 now and fighting severe acne. Again , my mom tells me to use calamine ..but didn't until I got this monstrous zit that was red , painful and so ugly that I had to cover it with ban-aid when I leave the house . My friend said she has gotten a similar one and the dermatologist in injected cortisone in it and drained it. I thought I'd give calamine a try before going to see a doctor . Second day , zit was dried up and quarter it's size! Eventullay it drained . But I used it on other acne and helped too! ....PS: if its too messy, shake bottle first and use q-tips.

Pros:

Makes redness go away
helped clear up my skin

Cons:

It is pink and very noticeable

I love this stuff, I read about this stuff on a website called [link removed] or something like that and it actually does work very good. Of course it does not get rid of acne scars, but it does help with redness and with new acne. I highly recommend this product for people

Pros:

Helps keep acne from developing, helps dry out existing acne, evens skin tone, smells good, cheap.

Cons:

None!

I have mild acne, especially around the time of my period, and have tried everything under the sun to prevent/get rid of it. I was using prescription topical lotion, but I read somewhere that Calamine can be really good for your face. I tried it, and its wonderful!! I don't break out nearly as often, and it's actually really good to use underneath my makeup. Thumbs up for me. :) Note: I also take an oral antibiotic, and use toner every night.

Pros:

Effective, harmless, has real clay in it (Bentonite Magma- like the stuff at the spa).

It's ridiculously cheap- and works better than other products *cough*Neutrogena Acne Wash*cough* that I've tried.

Cons:

Kinda messy... and it's pink. Why is it pink?

Won't get rid of my dark spots, and those unwanted bumps do pop up occasionally. (However, I've found that a spot treatment with the lotion help minimize my acne bumps immediately.)

Wearing a pink mask really isn't that great of a fashion statement...

Takes a bit of time.

Definitely worth your time. Try it. I noticed that other experimenters had issues... don't leave the lotion on overnight! Bad, bad idea! You're clogging your pores even more! Here's what I did. Procedure: 1. Wash face with soap, dry thoroughly. 2. Apply thin, even layer over face. 3. Wait 15 minutes with your *lovely* pink (why did it have to be pink?) calamine lotion mask. Go read a book, kick your brother, whatever , just be patient! 4. Wash mask off with water and more soap. 5. Dry face. 6. Moisturize your face- unless you were using Dove soap. That already moisturizes for you. Do procedure twice a day- when you wake up, and right before you go to bed. Tips: DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE! It ruins all your efforts! I cannot stress this enough. Do NOT touch your face! Notice how NOT is all in capital letters! Be PATIENT. Patience is a virtue, good things come to those who wait, etc. etc. It'll take a few weeks before you notice a real difference. If you have a flare up, try spot treating each bump with the lotion. Just leave it on till it dries up and then wash it off.

Pros:

It Works!
No itching
No Swelling
No More Acne!
Doesn't smell wierd.

Cons:

It's pink

This stuff really works. I fought a losing battle with acne all of my high school life, and was really unpopular because of it. My face was more acne than skin. I tried everything, Clean&Clear, Neutrogina, even Proactive didn't work. Then on day, I got Poison Ivy on my face (Fell down while camping). I used this to clear up the ivy, and surprise surprise, the entire area around the exposed spot, all of the acne, vanished! So I tested it, covered half of my face in it and and left the other side blank. Few days later, I looked liked Havery Dent (Two-Face from Batman) Hands down I strongly recommend using this! The results will be proof enough!

Pros:

clears up cystic acne and white heads without overly drying out skin

Cons:

Messy

This stuff is great! I have had acne for years and tried everything and this is the one thing I know will work. I finally tried it a couple years ago for a cyst on my face after reading reviews online. It worked so fast and took the swelling and redness down better then anything Ive ever tried. Ive spent so much money time and tears and this $3 bottle of pink cream did the trick. Use it whenever I get a cyst or stuborn white head. Also works great for bug bites and eczema.

Pros:

Evened skin
Seems to clear up pimples
Easy

Cons:

A little bit messy

I really like using this as a mask. Make sure you get plain calamine lotion, and not caladryl. The caladryl has a long list of ingredients (and it burned when I put it on) while my new bottle (Life Brand from Shoppers Drug Mart) only has three ingredients. If the calamine is too runny, try leaving it upside down while you're storing it. Also, after having it for a little while, there will be a thicker part around the inside of the bottle. You can stick your finger in to the top and kind of scrape out the thicker stuff. It works really well!

Pros:

Evened skin tone
Reduced pore size
Reduced blackheads
Reduced whiteheads
Faded scars

Cons:

None

I have oily, fair skin with large pores and breakouts, mainly on my jawline. I have tried EVERYTHING for the last 15 years to clear my skin, I have never been so pleased with my skin now that I am using Calamine lotion. I bought the CVS brand Calamine lotion for $5.99 a week ago, I wash with Cerave foaming cleanser, apply the Calamine, let it sit for 10 minutes and then apply my Cerave moisture cream. The first day I noticed a huge reduction in redness and an overall more even tone. Each day after that my skin has greatly improved, my blackheads started coming out on their own when I wash my face, I no longer have any whiteheads anywhere on my face or jawline, my skin is clear and even (my face tone actually matches my neck tone again). It's very gentle and I have had no negative issues at all, it is the cheapest most effective product I have ever used in my battle for clear skin. All of my friends and family have noticed and have asked me what I started using to make my skin look so good. It's nice to look in the mirror and see smooth skin again. I highly recommend giving this a try, it's effective, cheap, and very easy to find!

Pros:

-soothing
-cheap
-acts fast
-takes out redness

my skin got so red, sensitive and irritated to using BP, it got so bad that I was desperate for something to calm the itching down. Thats when I saw the reviews here. IT WORKED AMAZINGLY FAST. The itchiness was gone right after application and after 30mins, I rinsed it off with warm water and no more redness. I AM LOVING THIS. It feels so nice on the skin, it works like a mask that you can leave on overnight as well.
