Pros:

Cleared up SOME acne temporarily.

Cons:

Acne came back after 2 weeks.
Very drying.
Can bleach clothing.

This worked well for a few weeks but then I ended up getting bigger and extremely sore spots. Dried out my skin and no amount of moisturiser could cure it! Might work for other people but did nothing for me. I'd recommend using lemon juice instead.

Pros:

Reduces acne
Dries quickly

Cons:

Ages skin

Pan Oxyl 2.5% Aqua Gel was the only 2.5% BP gel I could find in the UK. I used it following Dan's Regime for about 5 months in total, using it morning and evening for 3 of those months, then just evening for 2 months. I found it was effective at clearing my face acne, however I also found it aged my skin quite a lot. I used moisturiser twice a day also- so it wasn't that my skin was dry, it just looked old and rough and lost its 'glow'. After 3 months of the twice a day application I thought I'd try just once a day, which did improve the condition of my skin (i.e. less ageing) but it wasn't so effective on my acne, and I got more spots. I am in my mid 30s though- and maybe because I am a bit older than many acne sufferers the 'ageing' part of it was more concerning for me. I would definitely recommend it for younger people though.

Pros:

Reduced oiliness
Some initial acne control

Cons:

Did not effectively manage acne
Extremely drying at first
Made skin extremely pale and dull
Made zits/spots take much longer to clear and heal

After using birth control for years to control my acne I decided to stop for a few months and see if my skin could handle it. About a month in the acne and oily skin I'd had before going on the pill came back, and after researching options and reading all the positive reviews I started using PanOxyl 2.5. Firstly, I should say to anyone starting out on it, be sure to only use it once a day at first or it will dry your skin out BADLY and cause flaking. I overdid it and learned this the hard way. I did find though that it immediately helped with my acne and reduced the oiliness of my skin. I kept using it over the course of a couple months (eventually back up to twice a day) but after that first week my acne was back, and though my skin and zits were drier, I still had a lot of acne. The zits also didn't really heal. The entire time I was using the PanOxyl it almost seemed like my skin was too dry of damaged to regenerate. The zits would turn into dark dry spots and never went away enough to stop covering them with make up. My overall complexion became dull and I felt that I looked much older than I did off of the PanOxyl. In the end I was really disappointed with the product, especially after reading the positive reviews, because I very much hoped that it would work great for me. I discontinued using the PanOxyl and went back onto my birth control. It was a failed experiment that left me with by far the worst period of acne I'd had in over 10 years.

Pros:

IT WORKS
Fast
Effective
Cheap
Gel form

Cons:

Can leave skin dry and stings for the first couple of weeks of application until skin adjusts

Fantastic product. I wonder why I have not heard of Panoxyl before, because this is the ONLY thing that has worked for me. I guess they're a pretty silent brand. Take note: you may not have to use as much of this as you would if you were using Dan's BP gel. For me, a stripe the length of my index finger every 12 hours is enough for three weeks of every month. When my period arrives, I require a bit more because that's when I break out most. Like all BP products, it can leave skin a bit dry and flaky, especially at first. It's a good idea to ramp the dosage up slowly and then when you're completely clear, try reducing the dosage until you find the right amount for your skin. Everyone is different. I can't compare Panoxyl to any other BP product, since it's the only BP I've ever used. But I have no reason to switch, since it's working! It's pretty much saved my life. **I have put the price in monthly costs in POUNDS, not dollars. It's £3 a tube, and I need two tubes a month, just about.**

Pros:

Usually ive got relatively clear skin for a teenager, with a few flaws here and there, but when i do get a breakout, its really really bad. PanOxyl really killed the affected areas, in a relatively short period of time.

Cons:

PanOxyl dried out my skin, and no matter how much moisturiser i put on it looked red, inflamed - felt like extreme sunburn. definately do NOT use it more than once a day!!!

Use it once a day maximum.

Pros:

It works good for about a month, but then you start to notice red mark scars skin after a while

Cons:

leaves skin dry, and if you don't have dark skin, like me, it leaves red marks where the acne was. its a chemical, it damages your skin!

don't be mislead by the great results after about a week or 2, because it leaves marks. stick to tea trea oil blemish stick, it works exactly the same and as quick, but doesn't scar because its all natural. use vitamin e moisturiser aswell.

Pros:

I didn't use this cream, but a cream similar to this one. I had mild acne on my forehead, which disappeared within a week without any side effects.

Cons:

When I recently applied it to clear a zit on my cheek, it left a dry, red spot (the zit disappeared within 3 days). I guess it's because I over-applied it.

I suppose it dries and reddens sensitive skin. So do not over apply it! And avoid the Sun after applying it.

Pros:

Price
Quick drying
Works
Not too harsh on skin

Cons:

Only that its discontinued and won't be back for a while

I work in a pharmacy and kept seeing this on a script so thought, it's only £3.40, why not try it. I have tried quinoderm, retin a, dalacin, zineryt and nothing has worked. This product is amazing. It helped clear up the red angry acne on my face. It's made me more confident to go out without make up on too. I absolutely love it and am now hunting around small pharmacies for any reserve stock. I can't say anything else but I love it.

Pros:

Cheap price
Convenient because it is available in every drugstore
Reduces redness and dries up pimples fast
Lightens up acne scars

Cons:

May take a few weeks before noticing the effectiveness
Leaves skin very dry if doesn't use with any moisturizer

I tried this product as an alternative while waiting for my regimen kit to arrive this july. Because I ran out of acne maintenance and don't wanna come back to my old dermatologist to purchase their way too expensive products, I stumbled upon this product while researching on the net. Its been a month of using panoxyl 2.5% and I can't say that its perfect but it did help tone down my angry pimples and notice that my acne marks which consists mostly of red papules lighten up. I rarely put moisturizer because of my super oily face and very humid weather here in philippines and it did left my face dry but not that bad...
