Pros:

-Feels natural
-Looks fine from a couple feet away
-Doesn't break me out

Cons:

-Looks TERRIBLE up close
-Makes skin look pretty oily
-Doesn't help with acne (but like I said it doesn't break me out either)

I started using this about a 6 months ago. At first, I was very proud of how I looked. Now, I don't really like to wear it because my friends told me I put on too much. But I can't put on any less if I want to cover up my acne.

Pros:

I guess it works

Cons:

I was so allergic it looked like I had a sunburn

If your skin is sensitive don't use. I used it and my skin itched so much I took it off in the middle of the day.

Pros:

It has a nice coverage.
Lots of different shades to choose from.

Cons:

MADE ME BREAK OUT!! (contains Bismuth).
Made the dry patches on skin from harsh winter REALLY noticable.

I have been using this stuff for over a year. My mother recently talked to some dermatologists at a ski resort and explained the kind of acne I was dealing with. The first question both dermatologists asked was if I used bare minerals makeup. They told my mom that there is a ingrediant in it that about 75% of all women called Bismuth Oxychloride. It's usually found in mose mineral powders (supposably adds shine). I don't know how accurate that stat is but I research it and a lot of other women were having the same issues. If you are part of the 25% of women who aren't allergic to it, congrats you a found a nice foundation because it does have some good coverage. I was mad to think that after a year of fighting acne it was a cosmetic that was causing most of the problem. Since my mom talked to the doctors I have stopped using Bareminerals and paid more attention to the ingrediants that go into my cosmetics and my skin has cleared up beautifuly. Bottom line: don't be a sucker for trends and research anything you are thinking of putting on your face.

Pros:

-natural
-light
-gives skin a healthy luminous appearance
-natural ingredients

Cons:

-pricey
-takes longer to apply than liquid foundation
-less coverage

This product is fantastic! It has helped to clear up my cosmetic-induced acne, and makes my skin look natural and radiant. I used to struggle with cakey-looking makeup, and I had a hard time finding makeup that wouldn't look orange on my light skin. This makeup has solved these problems for me. I have had cystic pimples in the past, and I can assure you that I have not gotten any cystic pimples from this makeup. I recommend this to anyone looking for more natural and youthful-looking makeup.

Pros:

Hmmm,looks good from far away
Doesnt break me out

Cons:

Shows fine lines
Makes pores bigger
Very shiny

This stuff covers pretty well but it magnifies every teeny tiny line and pore on your face(keep in my im only 15 and dont have many lines). This stuff looks beautiful if you stand a couple feet away but horrific up close. It cakes up and doesnt look natural, also my skin looks like an oil slick after an hour. Save yourself the money, dont buy it...even if youre perfect skinned.

Pros:

Feels nice on your skin
Looks really good initially
Can build coverage
Supposedly "natural"
Good for sensitive skin

Cons:

Looks cakey after an hour or so
Is gone within a couple hours
Takes a long time to layer on coverage
Expensive

I purchased this because they said "so natural you could sleep with it on". Not that I sleep wearing makeup, but I thought something so light and natural would be better for my skin. The problem is that it takes a long time to blend colours together to get the right shade and you have to keep layering to get decent coverage. You must use the concealing brush on blemishes. It feels really nice on your skin and it looks great. But it just doesn't last. After an hour, it starts to cake. It easily rubs off. Within a couple more hours, its gone. It especially doesn't stick to blemishes, though the concealing brush can help. I only use it when I need to go out for not too long, I dont have significant break outs, and I have my oily skin under control. Otherwise it looks terrible. Overall, I won't be buying this again, I'll stick to liquid foundation (Nars oil-free foundation is simply the best).

Pros:

Decent coverage
Luminous effect
Nice consistency

Cons:

Known to cause cystic acne - caused it in me!
Expensive
Not a lot of variety in types of foundation

I used B.E. foundation for years, albeit in my teen years and first year of college I used it sparingly. It wasn't until I had a few bad break outs in spring 2010 that I started using this product everyday to cover up the FEW spots. Throughout the summer developed a pretty serious case of acne (from my own personal experience - 10 to 15 active pustules, a few cystic acnes here and there - not a pretty sight). I didn't correlate me using B.E. with the worsening of my acne since I believed it was healthy for the skin (which it can be for some) and better than liquid foundation. Boy was I wrong. This product contains Bismuth Oxychloride which is in a lot of cosmetic products - including most mineral foundations. It is what gives B.E. its pearly finish and great coverage. Yet this ingredient has shown to cause allergic reactions and CYSTIC ACNE in certain people. I stumbled upon this by mistake when after the "summer of pimples" I went abroad and decided it was the best time to go on a make up strike. Sure enough even with the increased pollution, increased humidity, and all over dustiness of Senegal my face slowly healed with the use of a mild cleanser. When I came home I thought "I can start wearing B.E. again since its not humid or polluted quite as much". Yet sure enough within two weeks I had the same pussy pustules and cystic acne forming on my chin and cheeks that had gone away over the past 3.5 months. Adding in B.E. again was the ONLY factor that I could conclude was causing my acne to flare again. With the advice from online sites and message boards I decided to try Jane Iredale mineral base which does not have Bismuth Oxychloride in it. I have been using it for three weeks and have not had any more issues with cystic acne. I wear it every day along with Este Lauder's Double Wear Stay in place concealer > both have not caused any breakouts with daily use along with Dan's Regimen. more info on Bismuth: [link removed]

Pros:

Looks great in dim light
Covers light to medium hyperpigmentation
Matte controls oil (initially)
Looks natural

Cons:

TERRIBLE breakouts in the form of cystic acne
Highlights fine lines and enlarges pores
Expensive
Rubs off easily on clothing and tissue
Leaves skin oily over time

Initially, this make-up made me smile! The coverage was great'until I got in bright or natural light. You could tell where I applied extra as concealer for my dark spots caused by acne breakouts from using this product. I tried all of the natural remedies and other suggestions to treat acne listed on here and other acne blogs, and as soon as my skin began to clear, it would break out again. I cleansed the brushes regularly, thinking maybe I wasn't cleaning them thoroughly, but then I realized that my skin had NEVER been as bad as it was. Tonight, I made the decision to go back to the make-up I had been using since high school, an inexpensive non-comedogenic pressed powder. When I was using my old make-up, I received plenty of comments on how great my skin looked. I haven't received ONE comment since I started using Bare Escentuals. I went from mild, menstrual cycle induced acne to experiencing moderate acne (cystic, black and whiteheads). I'm DONE with this stuff. I am more than positive that Bare Escentuals is the cause of my recent acne nightmare! I wish I would have listened to my instincts earlier and left this crap alone.
