Pros:

Very cheap
Gets rid of dead skin
Can be used as a scrub OR it can be used as a mask and then scrub off when dry
Can be used overnight as a spot treatment when mixed into a paste

Cons:

Doesn't do anything for blackheads on nose

I overall liked Baking Soda as a acne fighter. However, DO NOT use with lemons. I mixed this with lemons and a very strange smell occured so I researched it and apparently lemon and baking soda cause a chemical reaction so I advise you do use the lemon as a toner AFTER you wash off the baking soda if you plan on using both products.

Pros:

Burning (Makes it feel like it works)
Smooth shiny skin
Clear clogged pores
Smaller pores

Cons:

Not always effective
Burning (but i like the burning sensation?)

I think everyone's already said it. The only problem is is that it's not 100% effective every time you use it. But it still works,

Pros:

- Flaten existing painful acne (after just 1 use)

- Brighter overall skin (maybe the oil redrawn make face less dull and dark)

- Less oily skin last longer

- Cheap

-

Cons:

Dont put it near your eyes, it's gona be really painful and hard to take out as the grains are reallyreally fine, you will regret.

I was damn scare and worry why i didnt feel the sharp sting or anything. Perhaps only on open acne wounds. Upon washing off i was horrified and very sad that those brown/ red stops become more obvious. And i over left it on dont put it too long if you're not confident for the first time. Less than 5 mintues would be enough i suppose. (should be explainable cos it is for exfoliating, the surface is slightly removed thus scar seems more obvious) BUT after my whole shower, some redness on skin is gone. Scar wise to be honest too early to say, i cant really tell much difference. Indeed good on making acne stop. *2 acne near mouth & acne on my neck is not pain anymore after just 1 use. Somewhat cured. No joke. Somehow like many says good for blackhead. AND most importantly, face is alot less oily. Maybe that explains why the pimple become alot less active due to redrawing oil from it. This review is only based on 1 usage and is pretty amazing already. Next i plan to put lemon (anti bacteria&fungi, vitaC into skin), and honey so less harsh. People with acne you must really try, it might really save you alot sadness.

Pros:

Great exfoliator
Easy to use
Cheap
Lightens acne scars
Brightens skin
Smooth skin
Tightens pores

Cons:

Can leave a a white residue on sink if it isn't clean up
A little bit of irritation after the first few uses
Can be very drying IF you don't use a good moisturiser

This needs to be used consitently in order for it to work,so use it for a week to see real results. I ran out of Cetaphil cleanser a couple of weeks ago and tried out baking soda with a few drops of water (to make it into a watery paste). It WORKS! My acne scars are so much lighter. I must say that my skin looks a lot better. It feels very smooth,my skin has a better glow to it,and my pores look smaller. I haven't had any breakouts since I started using this. It's honestly a great product. The only thing is that there can be a little irritation after the first few uses of it,but that goes away.Make sure you use a good moisturizer to prevent your skin from being too dry.

Pros:

Makes skin feel soft, skin looks brighter and feels clean.

Cons:

Haven't found any cons yet...

This isn't a miracle worker for me, but I have been using it for a week and noticed my skin tone looks more even and some of the scars have lightened a bit. I use it every night as a cleanser and once a week I leave it on like a mask for ten minutes. It doesn't burn my skin at all, and it hasn't dried out my skin either. Benzoyl peroxide burned my skin and dried it out. So the baking soda seems to be working. I am going to continue using it and hope for no more acne!

Pros:

Cheap
Convenient
Effective
Gentle
Versatile

Cons:

If you're not careful, it can be harsh on the skin
Messy

I've been using this stuff for a good while now and have seen fantastic results! It has reduced pore size, evened out tone and helps speed up healing time if I have a breakout. I've seen numerous sources state that if you have acne-prone skin, it is recommended to exfoliate twice a week with this method, but personally I think that's a tad too much. Baking Soda's pretty potent; if not used with care, unpleasant results could occur. I use this once a week after my usual daily cleansing and my skin has improved more with it than it has in years. I only knocked off one little 'happy-dancing-egg-man' because as mentioned, it is potent and can be pretty harsh if you're not careful (speaking from experience). I say at the very LEAST give it a try, and make sure to start gradually.

Pros:

Easy to make
Cheap
Effective

Cons:

Stings a little
Flaky when dried
Heavy on face

I've had acne for about a year now. It's not enjoyable. I blame my diet a lot because on the weekends I pig out with lots of caffeine and chocolate. On the week days I drink some water, and I don't actualy eat that much. I plan on improving that though. The thing is, I've been trying to gain weight because I'm as skinny as a twig. I guess my diet for that has been doing some part on my face as well. Anyway, I tried to use commercial cleansers like Clean and Clear, which didn't work. I tried Proactive but that gave me a facial rash. I guessed I was allergic and I haven't used it since. I tried going to the dermatologist but he prescribed me Oxy Clinical treatment. That sort of worked for a while but it dried out my skin. I didn't mind though, but I ran out and that's probably where my bad eating habits kicked in. So I tried a homemade face mask. I mixed together lemon juice, baking soda and baking powder. I slathered it on the infected areas and I left it on for a little while (I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly how long. Jut wait until it gets real dry and whenever you move, little flakes fall in front of your face). Then I washed it off with water and washed my whole face with just water. Once I dried my face, my pimples had lost redness and had maybe gone down in size. I used that mask for a while and then my pimples alltogether faded! It was pretty amazing and didn't cost a thing for me. It might for you if you have no baking power and soda and lemon juice on hand.

Pros:

-Cheap
-Can use as a facewash or mask
-You control the consistency

Cons:

-A little stinky
-A little messy

Baking soda has been working amazingly! I've used ProActiv, Philosophy, Juice Organics, and Clinique in the past. However, baking soda has worked the best so far. It has slowly been clearing up my skin and I can't wait to see the results in the weeks to follow. I've noticed reviews stating that baking soda burns - for me I've tried so many products that the slight tingling sensation doesn't bother me at all. So if you are in the same boat (meaning you've tried so many things to get rid of your acne!) then don't worry about it stinging. My regimen: Wash face morning and night with 1/2 tbsp baking soda and 1 pump Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Follow with Apple Cider Vinegar toner (1/3 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/3 cup green tea, 1/3 cup water). You can google other recipes; some use aloe and other ingredients to make it smell better. Apply CeraVe lotion.

Pros:

When used as an exfoliant mixed with some table sugar, I love it. It gets rid of all the dead skin that's clogging up pores, and is very effective with those little white bumps on my chin. It doesn't dry out my skin either.

Cons:

The first time I use it, my skin was a little red. NEVER use it as a mask, it hurts like heck. Also, since it has a pH of 8.3. It is a base and you may want to splash yourself with lemon juice or something acidic to keep your skin pH balanced.

I've had acne for four years, and I'm 14. I have it on my face and body, and I never knew exfoliant would help it, but this one does. I would recommend it. You don't have to go out an buy some fancy product because you probably already have some baking soda and water. You may as well try it.
