none!!

I'm in my forties and i struggled with acne, until my sister told me she read that Baking Soda clears acne. I tried it and my skin looks better than it ever did. I shared the secret with my teenagers and they love it too.

Pros:

Cheap. Scar Treatment. Acne treatment.

I have finally tried a product that works and I can't be happier!!! The sad thing is that it's the cheapest product that I have ever purchased for my face and has worked better then any of the high end items. I'm in my thirties and I've been having issues with acne all of a sudden for like a year. I've used products such as Shiseido, Clinique, Clarins, Lancome and my acne got worse at times. I've been to the dermatologist and was prescribed medication and creams which I used and saw results temporally but the acne would soon return. I was buying a new acne product once a week which was beginning to be very costly. At first I was skeptical about trying baking soda because I've used it once while much younger and I felt a stinging sensation and never used it again. So I tried it again last week and by far this is the best solution for acne. I am completely amazed!!! My acne is disappearing and my scars from previous acne are already fading. I'm currently using it everyday

Pros:

Cheap and easy to use...I just mixed it with a few drops of water to make a paste. My face felt so clean and smooth afterwards.

Cons:

Made my face red and I got a bit of a rash that disappeared after a few hours...it wasn't too bad, I just looked a bit flushed. Also, my face is a bit oily today, I think because I stripped so much off last night, it's overcompensating!

I wouldn't recommend this if you have sensitive skin as it's probably a little too abrasive and harsh. If your skin is tougher than mine though, it will really make your face feel extra clean.

Pros:

Super soft skin, MUCH less redness. Who would have thought?!

Cons:

None for me; didn't burn at all.

WHOA. I'm 21 and done dealing with my teenage acne. I'd never heard of this solution and was really sceptical. I couldn't afford to make my face worse, but was desperate and I tried it anyway. I use it as you would a cleanser; not a mask; because I know how dry my skin gets with any mask. I rinse almost immediately and apply a good lotion and still get that silky smooth result. The pimples are clearing and the redness (the WORST part) is completely gone.

Pros:

I started using this about 6 months ago. Have oily skin and blackheads and regular acne on a daily basis. A little water and baking soda, sort of a paste and wash my face. Great results! Not as oily, smooth skin, even tone.

Cons:

None.

Wish I new about this 25 years ago. Won't have use anything else. And CHEAP. You must use a lotion after.

Pros:

Skins surface appears very smooth, dries any surface oil, seems to take some redness out of acne

Cons:

Dries skin a little much

First, cell regeneration for anyones skin takes 30-60 days. When using anything for the first time, if your skin appears worse within the first few uses, don't give up hope. If a product makes your skin worse, it pulls from your skin what needs to come out. If a very serious reaction occurs then obviously stop at once :) I noticed one user say that the cotton ball was cleaner after using the baking soda. If you are using a good cleanser, your cotton ball should always be white. A toner isn't suppose to be used to pick up left over makeup (contrary to popular belief!). Okay..bottom line, right?! I like the baking soda. I'm being patient with it though. I like how my skin feels after the use and for me, personally, it doesn't sting too bad. I'm use to a glycolic peel twice a week. The baking soda is mild compared to a peel. I mix mine with a 2:1 ratio. 2 parts baking soda to 1 part water so the paste is thick.

Pros:

Baby Soft Skin

Cons:

Stings A Bit

I was sitting reading through these comments with Bicarb on my face and couldn't wait to get it off to see if what you all say is true, But tbh I could not BELIEVE it, you can read the word soft but then there is feeling how soft your skin is afterwards!!!!!! omg I could not believe it. I used it to try and get the discolouration off my face from childbirth and the pill time will tell if it does this, But even if it doesn't it is a great thing to use beats any mask I have ever bought! A great skin care paste! The bicarb won't just be going in my cakes anymore ! Can't beat the old ways.

Pros:

-works for me
-extremely cheap

Cons:

-burns (my skin is getting used to it now, so not as much as before)

I'm almost 14, and I've had acne since i was in fifth (?) grade. I've tried a LOT of things, going on meds, using OTC products, etc. Honestly, this is the best thing that's worked for me. It made my skin feel really smooth and soft, and is clearing up my acne very quickly. This didn't just ZAP my acne away overnight; it takes time. Every morning and every night, i pour out a little baking soda onto the palm of my hand, and combine it with a little bit of warm water, just enough to make a thick, slightly slushy paste. Then, I lightly "slide" it onto the affected areas, and after a few minutes, "splash" it off with warm water. It stung/burned a lot for me at first, but now, not so much. I began with zits covering my face, but mainly on the "T-zone" and the sides of my nose. Now, i only have a tiny bit on my forehead, and my nose is nearly entirely clear, along with my chin. Yippee! :)
