Cons:
After washing it off, it left some flesh coloured bumps on my cheeks.
Skin got dry
I'm not sure if I have sensitive skin or not, but after I washed off the baking soda, my cheeks were irritated and had flesh colored bumps on my cheeks. It was irritating and red. It did go away but it took quite a while for it to. I don't recommend this to people with sensitive skin.

Pros:
Keeps skin mostly clear. Seriously shrinks big ugly pimples that are ready to pop.
Cons:
Messes up your skin in the long run, making it more vulnerable to dryness and infection.
Used baking soda paste from July to November. It DOES control acne very well. Sometimes I'd get a nasty pimple if I didn't use it for a few days, but it nearly disappeared if I applied baking soda paste and left it on for ten minutes. Dries right up. HOWEVER, now my skin is red, flaky almost raw in places. Apparently baking soda screws up the pH balance of your skin. Facial skin is slightly acidic, which helps protect it from infection and damage. Baking soda raises the pH balance of your skin, making it less acidic. Probably doesn't sound like a big deal, especially when you're desperate to clear up bad acne. But I can say from experience that raising the pH level of your skin is a Very Bad Thing. At most, I will probably use baking soda as a spot treatment. I will no longer use it as a cleanser. Too bad, because it did a good job controlling my acne. Note: Some people "balance" the effect by using apple cider vinegar as a toner. I'm not prepared to experim

Exfoliating Mask
So I tried a honey and baking soda exfoliating mask tonight and can say without a doubt that baking soda is good to use when sloughing off dead skin cells. However, I read a few reviews on here and decided to use very little baking soda. You don't want to use too much of this stuff and I would consider mixing it with organic honey, or aloe vera, or something else. Its the texture of sand and rubbing that much sand on your face could take off more than your skin needed it too. I'm looking elsewhere for a pore-closing mask. If you wanted to do this stuff just to get the 'lightening' of scars benefit, I would advise you to try using a recipe with aloe vera for a few months instead.

It decreased the appearance (a little bit)

It made my face dry and red/
It didn't work for me. It was better, but it made my face unbelievably dry and red.

Making a smooth baking soda cream
baking soda helps dry acne out. The skin pulls enormously which means it is very effective. But results come only after one week. Not just for pimples but also for painful boils on the face. Baking soda dissolves in water. To make a baking soda cream for acne, grate a bit of bathing soap into a metal container. Add some water to melt it on the stove. Meanwhile add a strong dose of baking soda in a hot cup of water. Stir until dissolved, then add this water to the melted soap. It will rise, so take it away from the fire and keep stirring. When warm, add some essential oil to it, stir well and pour into a vaseline jar. After a while the baking soda soap mixture will become solid and creamy. Rub on the pimples and boils on the face and you do not need to wash it off. The skin pulls helping pimples and boils to dry. But due to its strong effect, the need will rise to wash your face. After the wash, it feels like it is still working. Use a favorite oil to massage your face as the baking soda soap cream keeps working unfailingly. It is my experiment. Boils come one after another on my face. I needed something strong and not grainy. So making a grainless cream from baking soda is worthwhile. Now it is just the wait to see how my experiment works. Baking Soda and Castor Oil
I put a mixture of Baking Soda and Castor Oil on my face to get rid of mole.
Now my face is very dry and rough looking. It's working but also causing my skin to peel and blotch a lot.
Can anyone tell me what I can use to get smooth skin again?

Pros:
temporarily fades acne at first
cuts back the oil
Cons:
eventually makes skin red
chapped and cracked the skin on my hands when i used them to apply on my hands
caused weird huge bumps on forehead
I read all these reviews and was like whoa this stuff must be sweet.
I mean, cmon, someone said that God led it to them and it was a godsend and stuff...it had to be good right?
well it worked for the first week, but then came the problems...
redness, redness, paleness, dryness...badness.
at first it works but eventually with my skin it started looking really bad. it was too abrasive for my sensitive skin and even made my hands start to crack and turn horribly red from use. I wasn't even using it on my hands.
Another weird thing that happened is that I got huge bumps on my forehead that I've never got before. It was usually where my hair fell onto my face. Eventually i quit and now I use a teatree organic soap and bp 10% as a spot treatment. Things are getting much better than when I used baking soda. Use with extreme skepticism.

I will wait for the results
I have used baking soda 3 times. My recipe: one tsp baking soda, 2 tsp lemon juices, 2 drop of tea tree oil, 3 tsp water, mix them and apply all my face, it makes me break out on the forehead so much.
Second time, I use them on only my scar areas and i can see some red scars was lighten.
and the last( last night), I use and don't see the improvement I will wait for the results in next 2-3 months (because my scars were long time ago: > 10 years).

Pros:
-mask dries quickly
-face feels clean
-makes whitehead come to surface
-takes away unwanted oil
-inexpensive and easy to use
Cons:
-dries out skin if you use it too much
-creates redness
I use baking soda in mask form and it works alright for me! It does make my pimples a little more noticeable sometimes but the baking soda stops the pimple in its tracks. Make sure you get the right consistency so it's not too watery. I like this product but only every so often. Not everyday! Way to harsh for that.

Pros:
Cheap & easy
Makes pores vanish
Cons:
Not as good as I'd hoped!
Most people keep talking about how they got immediate results, or how their skin felt really smooth afterwards . . . honestly, I've been using it for a few weeks, and the only improvement I've noticed is that it makes my pores much smaller and helps shrink some pimples. But the pore-shrinking only lasts a few hours at most, and the pimples take so long to vanish that I'm really not sure if it's the baking soda or just time. However, my skin is actually pretty good, so maybe you just need more severe acne to see results. I'd recommend it on the sole basis that a lot of people did see results, though I didn't.
