Pros:

Reduces redness

Cons:

Leaves skin dry and tight

Used it for the first time and it reduced the redness a lot. After I used it I put on some toning lotion to reduce the dryness it leaves.

Pros:

makes skin clearer, makes skin smoother, fades scaring. also you could try lemon juice too. its okay to use the two together, but it will sting like crazy, you've been warned. works though!

Cons:

stings a bit... thats it!

no harm in trying it.

Pros:

It clears up your acne pretty fast and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Cons:

If you have sensitive skin like me, it will sting/burn a little, but you'll get used to it.

This actually does work on my skin and it's so cheap and easy to use. I usually use about 2 spoons of baking soda with like maybe a small bottle-cap full of water and mix it in until it becomes a paste. Then I apply it onto my skin with a Q-Tip and wait for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off gently with a soft cloth and warm water. At first, it may seem the redness has increased, but after some time, they'll go down. Afterwards, you can cleanse your skin like you always do, but this way of treating acne is much more useful then some brand-name products I've used.

Pros:

Initially leaves skin very smooth,
Reduces whiteheads
Very cheap and lasts a long time

Cons:

Clears minor acne fast but effect is not long lasting, which requires regular use, which burns skin if it is sensitive.

Whiteheads, some blackheads were cleared, but not cystic acne. Thus, I had to continue use of BP, which meant my skin was still sensitive. The frequent use of Baking Soda then left my skin very painful and tight, so when I stopped using it, oil production and whiteheads came back with a vengeance. Using it less frequently is also not an option, as the results are not noticable. So I would recommend using this only if your acne is minor and your skin is not too sensitive. Use it about once or twice a week only too.

Pros:

It does clear up the face and make the skin smooth. Make sure you rub smoothly with water.

Cons:

Doesn't seem to work for some people.

If baking soda doesn't help with clearing your acne, you can always whiten your teeth by brushing with baking soda. Tastes salty, but the you will notice your teeth being whiter after a few days. If you can deal with the taste, swallow the alkaline water as you brush. Being alkaline is known to prevent and cure many diseases.

Pros:

Super soft skin, MUCH less redness. Who would have thought?!

Cons:

None for me; didn't burn at all.

WHOA. I'm 21 and done dealing with my teenage acne. I'd never heard of this solution and was really sceptical. I couldn't afford to make my face worse, but was desperate and I tried it anyway. I use it as you would a cleanser; not a mask; because I know how dry my skin gets with any mask. I rinse almost immediately and apply a good lotion and still get that silky smooth result. The pimples are clearing and the redness (the WORST part) is completely gone.

Pros:

Skins surface appears very smooth, dries any surface oil, seems to take some redness out of acne

Cons:

Dries skin a little much

First, cell regeneration for anyones skin takes 30-60 days. When using anything for the first time, if your skin appears worse within the first few uses, don't give up hope. If a product makes your skin worse, it pulls from your skin what needs to come out. If a very serious reaction occurs then obviously stop at once :) I noticed one user say that the cotton ball was cleaner after using the baking soda. If you are using a good cleanser, your cotton ball should always be white. A toner isn't suppose to be used to pick up left over makeup (contrary to popular belief!). Okay..bottom line, right?! I like the baking soda. I'm being patient with it though. I like how my skin feels after the use and for me, personally, it doesn't sting too bad. I'm use to a glycolic peel twice a week. The baking soda is mild compared to a peel. I mix mine with a 2:1 ratio. 2 parts baking soda to 1 part water so the paste is thick.
