Eh
I certainly do not recommend this product! Before starting I would get a few pimples on my forehead but after using Azelex I have now had pimples everywhere. I also noticed a lot of whiteheads while using it as well as no improvement in my scarring. Please don't be discouraged by this review but be warned!!!! This didn't work for me but it might work for you, remember to never give up and stay persistent!❤️

That's called purging. How long did you try it for?

try my routine instead for cycstic acne
I am 28 year old female and still used to get weekly ance. I do get deep cystic acne every once in a while. I started a new regiment 4 weeks (Listed Below) ago and by the looks of it I finally have clear skin with no signs of new pimples or cysts emerging: Took me years to find the right products for me - I have very sensitive skin My Skin Regiment: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (AM/PM) Citrus Clear Sensitive Moisturizer Citrus Clear Grapefruit Spot Treatment Fish Oil - pills (AM only) Other Things to Consider when trying to achieve great skin - Probably the most important too 64 - 128 oz of Water Daily 6 - 8 Hrs of Sleep a Night 1 Hr of Exercise per day (5 per/week)

Hello! Drop Cetaphil and go with something like Circadia Lipid Replacing Cleansing Gel. Cetaphil blocks pores. The rest of your plan is pretty cool. Good for you!

Pros:

Nothing. (in my case)

Cons:

Everything... :(

Do not use any product which contains this acid, it's very painful. It made my skin dry and irritate it. My acne got worst, like a 60% worst. Right now I'm in a lot of pain and I just used it for 7 days! :( I'm not sure if my acne could still be called light acne, it looks more like moderate right now. 7 days of that acid meant dead to my face :(

Pros:

NOTHING

Cons:

This RUINED MY SKIN. I had a standard case of mild acne before trying this. While using it, all of my small pimples seemed to go away, but HUGE PAINFUL CYSTIC pimples cropped up on my cheeks. I used this for a month, thinking I was allowing some kind of purging process to occur and it would get better. I WAS HORRIBLY WRONG. I stopped using this about 2 months ago. Since then, I have had the ugliest and worst skin of my life. The pimples that happened while using this multiplied.

My skin has been a NIGHTMARE since using this. DO NOT USE THIS. I read a review or two with people claiming similar results and I shrugged them aside. I thought, "That won't be me!" Well, it was me and I feel horrible now. :'(

Pros:

-Didn't overdry skin.

Cons:

-Made my skin breakout worse than it had in years
-Very Expensive

I do not recommend this product. I was on it for 7 weeks and it continuously made my skin worse. I have been off of it for 2 weeks now and my skin is STILL worse. Some of the pimples it created have been on my face for over a month and will not go away. I only had moderate acne at worst, and now I have big pimples that I have never had before. I was so disappointed because I really thought this product would work.

Cons:

No notable changes or improvements

I used this products for 3 months and did not see any improvements in my acne, which was nodular and inflamed. This may work for some, especially those with non-inflammatory acne. For this with cystic or nodular acne, I do not think this topical helps at all. This product did burn my skin when I over-exfoliated, but I attribute this to my skin simply being a bit raw.

Cons:

Caused hypopigmentation... I started using Azelaic Acid 20% on my face as prescribed in January... by July - when I went to the beach - my skin was totally blotchy... I have patches of white where the cells have been damaged. Some doctors tried to tell me that it's Vitiligo, but the white patches are exactly where I applied the medicine. It's been over three years and it isn't much better. It is mostly noticeable in the summer I tried topicals

DON'T USE IT!!!

Pros:

Worked for about one week

Cons:

Extremely dry skin, cysts, white heads, more sensitive skin

After using Poractiv for about 2 years. My dermotologist perscribed Finacea for me, about 3 months ago. At first my face cleared instantly, I thought I had finally found a product that works for my VERY oily skin and large pores and mild to moderate acne. But the more I used the Finacea the worse my skin got. I applied it morning and night all over my face. It made my face break out where it normally never breaks out, especially on my forehead! It made these horrible cysts on my chin that would be purple in color and nothing but blood would come out! It also caused a little scarring on my left cheek! My skin has never been so dry!!! It is so embarassing! My skin has never looked worse! I have been trying White distilled vinager as a astringent for about 3 days now, and my face looks ALOT better, maybe by Christmas I can look good!
