Pros:

I use the 15% azelaic acid product (Finacea) I had no irritation or initial breakout like I got with retinoids.

Cons:

My insurance does not cover it, so its pricey to pay for it out-of-pocket.

It works great in combination with my other over the counter acne products. I like that it addresses multiple causal factors of acne - it prevents comedone formation, kills the acne bacteria, reduces inflamation, and helps fade red marks from past breakouts.

Pros:

It seems to help prevent acne without irritating my skin at all. I would definitely recommend trying azelaic acid.

Cons:

expensive! a tube of brand name Finacea cost me $90. one tube seems to be lasting about 2-3 months with twice a day application. But, I have no other cons to speak of! That's unusual for any kind of acne treatment.

It's hard to tell, but my azelaic acid topical cream (Finacea) seems to be helping prevent acne for me. I have sensitive skin, and yet it doesn't cause any itching or burning unless my skin is very dry. I use Cetaphil lotion with Finacea. I also apply it underneath my makeup and it doesn't clump up or anything. It's as if the Finacea isn't there. It also doesn't have an obnoxious smell or any color. I see no down side to using it except the price.

Pros:

Having rosacea azelaic has worked great for me. I know there are 2 versions, one gel and 1 lotion, both of which I have tried. the fineca gel @15 works better than anything the derms have tried so far. Cool calm & corrected from dermadoctor for after

Cons:

price. the burning and itching stops after a few days.

Stick with it, We all know if somebody tells us a product will work we will buy it. In this case I have tried them all and this one DOES WORK

Pros:

This medication got to work right away! I saw reddness reduced after a week. After about 3 weeks people that knew me came up to me telling me how great my face looks.

Cons:

It's not a miracle. I didn't expect to find a miracle drug though. Around my period I still break out, however not NEARLY as bad. I used to get hard painful bumps on my cheeks and jaw that would last forever!

I only use this product. No moisturizer or any other acne product. I wash my face with AVEENO baby hair and body wash. Then apply this medication twice a day. It itched the first week and it was more like a tingling that lasted for about 15 minutes. I don't feel that at all anymore. TRY IT!!! You'll be happy you did! The tube lasts me about a month and a half and my insurence covers half. A bit expensive, but I like the results so I will pay.

Pros:

I've only used it for a couple of days, but I can already see the results! My acne has shrank considerably and the redness is always gone when I wake up in the morning!

Cons:

A little bit of itching...nothing I can't simply ignore. I mean WHO CARES if it works right?

I really like this product!! TRY IT!!

Pros:

Easy to apply, no bad smell, works well under moisturizer and makeup! Was made for women, with a women's regime in mind. Non photo-sensitizing (won't make you sensitive to the sun). Doesn't cause dryness, peeling or redness.

Cons:

A little itching and slight burning/tingling for the first few weeks, but I got used to it - doesn't bother me now.

Not a miracle cream for me, but it has worked well enough that I'm glad I tried it and I would recommend to anyone with mild/moderate acne. I still have breakouts, but not nearly so much as I used to. I also use Verilux's ClearWave red/blue light therapy - and I think that really made the difference!!! I'm also on Yaz BCP.

Pros:

Good product ever, reduce dark complexion and ligthen skin.being an african american is hard to find product that works for us, but girls those days are over.Azelex really work so use it.

Cons:

A bit itchy I know but who say beautiful was easy.I mean those burning itchy feeling are totally worth it

If you want a better skin so use it and it doesn't clog pore. But if you mix it with an oral contraceptive would be better. I've been strugling with acne since I was 12 years old and now I find total relief thanks to Azelex.

Pros:

Goes on smooth, no pain, and works througout the day do prevent new bumps.

Cons:

I think it makes my facial hair grow faster, but I don't really consider that a con. Other than that can't really think of any.

Really works to prevent acne, remove redness, and even out skin tone. Im using this in conjunction with clenia face wash and its the best my skin has been in years. It's almost like a godsend since I still have a couple months left in college to enjoy good skin. The first time i applied my skin seemed a little itchy, but every time since then i don't even notice its on. Benzoyl peroxide seems to be treating the symptoms of acne, but azaleic acid seems to treat the cause. I use the product finacea cream. Also does not cause photosensitivity like so many other products.

Pros:

this is an update from the post below by me, titled "no more cystic pimples, something..."

But anyway, I have I don't think it's cystic but it is one of those underthe skin pimples that hurt on my cheek and corner of my chin since using.

Cons:

no more itching or burning afterwards, in my original post I was still itching and burning for about 3 weeks

Great product, Only had a couple of hurtful pimples since using it. I have been using it for a month and a half. normally I have had a lot of pimples by now. Over-all complexion is better. Have not seen much improvement in red marks though.
