Pros:

-flattened acne
-cheap
-made skin feel fresh and clean

Cons:

-not really anything, just a little messy to make!

IT FLATTENED MY ACNE! My pimples are still a little pink, but they are much flatter! I read instructions on how to make it on another review and I tried it and in a few hours my the size of my pimples was reduced! 1)crush 5 aspirins on a small plate and put the powder into a bowl. 2) add little amounts of WARM water until the mix is like a paste. 3) (optional) Honey can be added so the mixture doesn't dry your face out as much! (If it needs more water after the honey is added, just ADD IT! ) 4)spread evenly over your face, massaging lightly as you do. 5) wear for 10-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water! *If it seems too rough and not looking like a mask don't worry as it dries you will feel it hardening like a mask. Hope it works as good for you as it did for me! :)

Pros:

Smoother Skin
Helps reduce inflammation
Prevents acne, blackheads, whiteheads
Speeds up the healing of blemishes
Improves the appearance of pores
Inexpensive!

Cons:

Odd texture
Time-consuming (must be left on for about 20 minutes)
possible hyperpigmentation in dark skin tones after frequent use (if you are fitzpatrick type 4 or above, I would consult a dermatologist).

Obviously, do not use on skin suffering from eczema, allergic reaction, cold sores. I love the aspirin mask, and I incorporate it into my regular routine about 5 times a week. I use it at night before I go to sleep. I like to soften about 10 pills (I also use this for my neck and chest) in water, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to make a thick paste (I place my pills in a tiny bowl and use just enough vinegar or lemon juice to barely cover the pills), then add enough honey to make the paste thinner and more manageable. I apply all over to my face post-cleansing, leave on for 10-20 minutes, then rinse off and apply any skin care/acne product. If your skin is dry, you may want to use yogurt instead of apple cider vinegar, water or lemon juice, then add honey. As a spot treatment, I will soak the pills in a bit of vodka (enough to make a medium paste) and apply them to individual blemishes- but DO NOT apply this all over your face (it's VERY strong- I started out about 1 minute at first, now I can leave it on for about 20). Apply this to individual blemishes ONLY, and wash off after 1-20 minutes (start out with a minute or two, work your way up to longer). The active ingredient- Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) is most soluble in alcohol, so using rubbling alcohol or vodka makes this a MUCH stronger product. You can use rubbing alcohol, but I prefer to use vodka (IMHO, it's been less irritating to my skin).

Pros:

- dries out acne
-reduces redness
-reduces size of pimples
-shrinks pores

Cons:

- drips/rubs off easily

I use this product multiple ways. At first I was just using it as a mask, crushing up 3-4 pills and mixing them with honey. This method was making my acne smaller and less noticeable. Also making my skin feel smooth. When scrubbing off the mask, the asiprin becomes an exfoliating scrub. For the last three days I have been mixing a few pills with my benzo cream and leaving it on over night. It seems to rub off by morning, but my face was more clear than I have seen in awhile yesterday. I'm going to keep trying it... and hope to get even better results!

Pros:

Cheap, easy to find, really works give it a week and you will see results. I tell all my friends to try it.. TRY IT!!!

Cons:

must be consistent. your face may dry up a little.

I had moderate ace since i was 13 (now 20) & my face has never looked better. I do an acne mask twice a day 4 times a week, and it has worked very well for me. I also use it with a toner after i wash and scrub the mask with a salicylic acid scrubbing formula. I have tried so many products out in the market, and this has worked way better than all of those products with fast results. It leaves your face very clean and with a nice clean glow. I went to the movies and a friend I had not seen in a while said that my face looks great. I felt so happy because someone had actually noticed my face has been clearing up. I used to suffer from acne on my cheeks and my chin line and is complete gone all i have is a few marks and small little pores that will hopefully fade away. My skin does get a little dry after I wash it and pat it dry so make sure u buy an oil free moisturizer. My skin is soft with no bumps I love it. I also take vitamin a,e,c it helps (research it) ! Good Luck!

Pros:

Makes skin soft, gets rid of acne almost over night, Exfoliates, easy to make, cheap!

Cons:

Some say it dries out skin, but I don't notice any dryness.

It is perfect if you have a lot of whiteheads and redness. I get a small glad container and put half a bottle about 20 aspirin and dialogs them slowly in water, then add about a teaspoon of honey, and some soothing acne wash (Neutrogena redness soothing works great. About a teaspoon of that.) mix and use out of the jar for about ten times, saves me a lot of prep time and the consistency is better after it sits for a day or two. Dollar general brand aspirin is cheap and don't get the coated kind!

Pros:

None

Cons:

This made my cystic acne worse than it has been for 40 years. I am 55 now.

I first heard about using aspirn from Dr Nancy Synderman on the Today Show. When I looked it up here I saw all of the great reviews, and thought this looked like the miracle I was looking for. I could not be more wrong. As usual I tested it a couple of days, under my chin on a couple of pesky pimples, and it seemed to help, I then graduated to my cheeks. I left on for only 10 minutes, and to my horror the pimples turned in to cystic mountains, and I had to go court the next day, I am an attorney. I was so embarrassed, After making it through the rest of the week looking hideous, I am not hiding in my bedroom, and being very gentle with my skin, in hopes the mountains will have gone down enough to leave the house and there is no permanent damage. Bottom Line: This is not for everyone, proceed with caution.
