Pros:

*healing and soothing power of aloe vera
*forms protective barrier on raw spots when dry
*inexpensive and available many retail stores
*mixes well with too strong drug store BP products for easy dilution

Cons:

*rubs off and balls up with any friction or moist products
*has a few additives I don't need since I keep it in refrigerator
*face gets slimy as soon as you sweat

The balling up and rubbing off is really inconvenient, so I won't buy this one again unless I need it for first aid or burn treatment. I'm gonna use up most of what I have now, then try aloe vera juice instead for better absorption.

Pros:

Instant cooling feeling
Brightens complexion
Fragrance-free
Moisturizes
Can also be used as a hair gel

Cons:

If you apply it to closely to your eyes, you may experience a slight sting with watering. Nothing major though!

I started using FOTE Aloe Vera gel in February. Already my skin has begun to clear and my complexion is brighter. I'm a believer :D

Pros:

Aloe has much the same genetic structure as humans, so it is extremely beneficial to the healing process of scars
It feels cooling and soothing
Very natural remedy that has been in use for hundreds of years
You can even have your own aloe plant as a source

Cons:

Makes skin feel tight (which feels bizarre)
May clog pores and cause blackheads

I really like using aloe on skin rashes, irritation, etc as it is extremely soothing. It helps cool the skin and encourages you not to scratch if you are having problems with itchiness. However, it does leave the skin feeling tight which in my opinion is a bad thing - its a weird feeling that is hard to accurately describe unless the other person you are describing it to has experienced it as well. It clogged my pores a bit, though, which wasn't helpful. I suppose you could use it as a spot treatment on scars - gently smoothing it onto the scar and moving your fingers circularly may be beneficial because the aloe would naturally help heal and the movement would generate some circulation which stimulates the skin cells to get movin'. However if you are rough you will cause more irriation. Bottom line is be careful.

Pros:

Helps heal acne & scars.

Cons:

Caused me to breakout in small bumps & blackheads.

It helped to heal my larger breakouts & acne scars but it caused me to have small bumps & black heads. Exfoliation seems to help lessen these issues but my blackheads persisted until I switched out the gel for pure Aloe. Pure Aloe Vera from a plant doesn't seem to have the negative side effects.

Pros:

Cooling
Helps heal (a study found that aloe Vera helped to bind proteins together, resulting in faster healing)
Holds in moisture
No alcohol or fragrance
Reduces irritation and inflammation
Cost effective and large bottle

Cons:

Slightly sticky feeling on face
Has a few preservatives (salts) if that bothers your skin, was never a problem for me

Will help atleast little bit, make sure if you have dry skin to moistureize before you apply it as aloe doesn't moistureize; it just holds in moisture that is already there. People saying it caused scales and dry skin didn't realize that so it shouldn't be a problem for most people.

Pros:

Tightening feeing
Moisturizer
Acne reducer
Helps treat sunburns
Smooth feeling after use
Affordable

Cons:

Honestly can't think of any...

I love how this product has helped my skin! I first started using aloe vera to help with my sunburns a few years back and it not only did it help with the pain, the burn cleared up within days! I read on the label how it can be used on acne so I started using it on my face. My acne reduced and my skin was alot smoother, although it took a month to see the full affect. I also love the firming or tightening feeling it leaves after using it, to me, it's almost like it's repairing my skin while turning back the clock. Cheesy but true. :P

Pros:

cools redness down
reduces size of acne
does not irritate or cause breakout

Cons:

dries out after it is absorbed by skin

I use the gel from Lily of the desert company and it does not cause break out or irritate my skin at all. I put on a LOT of gel on top of emerging or big acne spot, and it seems to reduce redness in matter of a half day. But it does feel sticky, and it will leave a scab of dried gelly on top of skin later on. So I recommend using it at night before sleeping or using moisturizer on top of it after it dries out. It doesn't do anything to acne itself or hyperpigmentation. One trick to get better use of this is to cool alloe gel in refrigerator until it is ice cold, then use it on your acne. Works like charm.

Pros:

SOMETIMES can reduce a cyst

Cons:

False advertising, not pure, can clog pores

THIS IS NOT PURE ALOE. It is 100% GEL, not 100% aloe vera, which is verrrry easy to misread. There are potentially pore clogging ingredients and irritants so I do not use this. It has dramatically helped with one or two cysts but is mostly useless and very drying.
