Pros:

Lotion spreads easily and smoothly
Dries clear
Exfoliates very well
Seems to help with pimples and scars

Cons:

None

This product does sting some but I am not docking it for that by any means, simply because that is in the nature of the product. It is a wonderful exfoliant and helps with flake control after week 4 of the Regimen, works beautifully as a substitute moisturizer occasionally, and seems to help breakouts clear faster and scars heal much faster. I recommend it.

What I do before using AHA is put on an aspirin mask (4 crushed up aspirin) for about 20 minutes and then use this. I do this every other night, give or take. The result is probably the best skin I've had in years. The combination of salicylic acid and AHA seems to do wonders when it comes to active pimples and even red marks and scars. Though the latter two takes considerably more time to see results. It does makes the skin red for a bit afterwards but that's part of the reason you use it at night. It'll also sting slightly as you apply it but that's normal for something that exfoliates. I've dealt with acne for well over a decade now and have tried more than a few products (including accutane twice) and this one-two punch is something I can't do without now. Regular aspirin costs nothing and Dan's AHA is fairly cheap as well considering the size of it. Give it a try if nothing else is working. Good luck (:

The AHA+ really takes your skin to the next level when BP alone still leaves you with the odd pimple here or there. BP cleared my skin up tremendously, but the AHA+ used as a moisturizer about 10 mins after BP application really helps with controlling flakes and zaps the most stubborn acne that sometimes just seems to linger, even when on a BP regimen. Use it! But make sure to use an SPF moisturizer when using this and/or BP, because they do both make you're skin more prone to UV damage

Pros:

Clears acne and cleans pores
Helps with red marks and scarring

Cons:

Makes you a little red, but this isnt a problem since you can just use it at night.
Tastes bad, I know, weird to say, but if you are kissing your hubby he is going to make a gross face at the way this tastes if you get it too close to your lips

I LOVE this stuff. And this is coming from a person who HATES lotions and moisturizers. This stuff is great, it treats pimples, clears up acne, prevents breakouts, and evens skin tone. It has made my skin a little red/sensitive, but well worth it. I also HATE the regimen, cant stand it, this is the ONLY acne.org product that I like, but he did get this one right.

Pros:

Fragrance/dye free, non-comedogenic, easy applicable, smooths skin, reduces hyperpigmentation, reduces flakiness, excellent exfoliant, moderate moisturization, large volume

Cons:

No travel size yet

As a kid I spent a LOT of time out in the sun and worked as a lifeguard throughout high school and college. As a result, my skin built up some extreme durability to the elements but with one major problem: my skin has trouble shedding dead skin cells and, as a result, ends up clogging my own pores (only whiteheads, no blackheads). My oil production also went way up to protect my skin and this contributes to not being able to naturally shed dead skin cells. I've tried manual exfoliants in the past (Burt's Bees Citrus Scrub) which worked with moderate success, but it ended up being too abrasive for my skin and cause inflammation if done too frequently. I have had far better results with improving skin tone and texture by using AHA+; it is less abrasive on my skin but exfoliates more efficiently. I'm not able to use most moisturizers or sunscreen anymore because my skin isn't very good at shedding its layers, so I use this AHA+ in place of a moisturizer day and night in combination with benzoyl peroxide. Since getting off of Proactive this has been the only combination to help my skin so far. I essentially looked at the major factors/ingredients of Proactive and how it helped my skin (exfoliation with glycolic acid from their toner and bacteria/oil control with benzoyl peroxide from their repairing lotion) and duplicated that in a much easier and cheaper routine. I use Burt's Bee's Orange Citrus Cleanser (which is actually made up of olive and citrus oils), and I have NOT broken out but rather this specific cleanser helps moisturize my skin (thus no need for an extra moisturizer other than AHA+). I do not necessarily recommend using AHA+ everyday or in place of a moisturizer, but for my particular condition this application works. Once my skin has been rebalanced I hope to reduce application while also regulating exposure to the elements (sun, wind, pollution, etc) for long-term prevention.

Pros:

I use this as my night time moisturizer after cleansing and nothing else is needed to keep my face clear. This does not cause breakouts, dry out your skin, or burn it like some AHA products do. Also, it is not expensive if you get it with auto ship.

Cons:

None.

If you are considering an AHA, but want a gentle one that is not too harsh you should really try this one. I have tried many expensive brands and most of them either caused me to break out or burned real bad. This one is gentle yet effective, so why not give it a try.
