Pros:

It does soften acne scars

Cons:

How to use directions aren't for everyone. I use it 2 times a day only and have no itchyness or red spots

At first I followed the directions. 3-4 time a day, but I found that my skin was burning and irritated. I accutally had a big red mark on my face for 2 months. When the spot faded, I decided to try again with less gel and less frequency. After doing this for a week, I noticed a big difference, and I didn't have the problems a lot of people have posted. For people who found this product to irritate the skin after following the direction, I suggest twice a day with less amount.

Pros:

non-greasy, smells OK

Cons:

Rub too much, or use too much, and it comes off. Doesn't work well (gets clumpy and comes off) with the use of some face lotions. (I found it works great with Cetaphil.)

I've been using it for two weeks now and can see a difference in my skin. I suffered with acne for 10 years with a lot of scaring, 'rolling', 'ice-pick' and 'boxcar' type of scars and large pores on my nose and cheeks. Just after two weeks, using it 3-4 times a day (I don't wear makeup so it's easy), my whole face looks softer. I've been applying it on just about my whole face, concentrating on my nose, cheeks and jowel area. It rubs off with use of some face lotions, but I found it works great with using Cetaphil (applying the lotion after the Mederma). I swear, I can see a difference already and am very excited about how it might look after 6 more weeks!

Pros:

It works!

Cons:

It smells really bad, and is expensive.

I've been using this for 2-3 weeks now and my skin already looks smoother. I see minimal fading on my acne scars, but it's understandable seeing as most of my scars are 4 to 8 years old. I expect to bee using this for about a year, but it's totally worth the rest of my life. Also, I've been using it on my cheeks only and have had no pimples in that area since. I'm 22 and still get the occasional pimple, but it seems that this sort of prevents acne. I've only gotten a few pimples on my chin and forehead. Good product.

Pros:

It works
Easy to use

Cons:

A bit expensive, but then its my face so I didn't mind.

I fell and cut my face and ended up with a scar from eye to lips. I have been using merderma for a month and a half and I have been significant improvement, even after just the first couple of days. So I decided to use it on an old raised scar on my face that is 3 years old and it has been about three weeks I am seeing a difference! I am considering using it on my fine lines even and see if that would work. I am so so impressed with Mcderma. It is very pricey and I had considered buying the CVS brand scar therapy. I am so glad I didn't.

Pros:

gel absorbs quickly, it works, doesn't cause breakouts, agrees with other products, the smell of the store brand version is fine (better than the ACV i was using!)

Cons:

hard to use 3-4 times per day if you are a woman who wears makeup during the day, you have to be really patient and diligent to see results, costly ($20-30 tube),

I have the Walgreens Brand Scar Gel (it says it's "like" Mederma," so I'm assuming its about the same). It is wonderful so far. I am looking forward to the long-term results, but I am very happy with what I'm seeing after a month of use. At the same time I started using this product, my skin fully cleared (it was probably a combination of things, but I think this helped). I had two cheeks full of hormonal acne that has subsided completely but left me with a lot of red spots. I have much less prominent red marks after using this gel but it's not an overnight miracle by any means. The reviews after just a week or a few days are not a great indication of how well this works. I expect it to take a year or more to really fade the hyper pigmentation on my face so it looks like my skin again. The cost isn't as bad as it seems. I'm still on my first tube after a month of applying it generously 2x daily (sometimes 3) on my cheeks.

Pros:

Fades scars, blemishes, helps even out skin tone, and reduces keloids

Cons:

Smells a little weird but it's nothing serious and you have to get use to squeezing it out the tube. A little goes a long way.

I originally bought this for two minor keloids scars I had, but then I decided to rub it on my face. It works really well. It's better to apply it at night if you're afraid of smelling.. I paid $20 bucks for a 1.76 oz. (50g)

Pros:

as soon as i get home, i wash my face and i put mederma on. i re-apply about 3-5 times before bed. it REALLY DOES WORK! i have been using it for about a week and im seeing improvement already on old and new scars. and even on exising acne! i love it.

Cons:

i dont like the smell. and sometimes it causes my skin to itch. but it DOES NOT irritate it. i think its just the medicine working. it doesnt cause my skin to turn red or break out. it just itches. but i try my best not to scratch it!

if i honestly had one product for skin care to swear by... it would be mederma. not only has it lightened my existing facial marks... its cleared up my skin. i cant say it'll do the same for you. but it has truly worked wonders for me. even my friends have noticed the difference! i hope that this review will encourage someone else to purchase this amazing product!

Pros:

Fades marks significantly to completely

Cons:

Smells, can irritate skin if used with BP at the same time, make-up does not go well over it

This stuff really does work. I use it all the time to help fade post acne marks and scars and it makes them go away completely when used consistently. You may have to use this for up to 6 months, but that is going to be the case with any scar treatment. But, JUST KEEP USING IT!! I promise that you will see results at least SOME results. Usually it takes me about 2-3 months to see complete results. But, it 100% clears up my scars. The only scars that it has dissapointed me with a indented scars. While it did help to reduce the redness, it does not fill in the lost tissue. It doesn't promise to do that, though.
