Pros:

Been using generously for two weeks and has significantly faded a scar on my nose. I can't wait to see what happens in a few more weeks!

Cons:

Very expensive. If I'm going to use it for another 4-5 month on other scars I have to maybe purchase 4 tubes. at 20-30 bucks a tube, thats around 100+ dollars on Mederma.

It works! Give it some time. It's a miracle product, but just give it time...

Pros:

gel absorbs quickly, it works, doesn't cause breakouts, agrees with other products, the smell of the store brand version is fine (better than the ACV i was using!)

Cons:

hard to use 3-4 times per day if you are a woman who wears makeup during the day, you have to be really patient and diligent to see results, costly ($20-30 tube),

I have the Walgreens Brand Scar Gel (it says it's "like" Mederma," so I'm assuming its about the same). It is wonderful so far. I am looking forward to the long-term results, but I am very happy with what I'm seeing after a month of use. At the same time I started using this product, my skin fully cleared (it was probably a combination of things, but I think this helped). I had two cheeks full of hormonal acne that has subsided completely but left me with a lot of red spots. I have much less prominent red marks after using this gel but it's not an overnight miracle by any means. The reviews after just a week or a few days are not a great indication of how well this works. I expect it to take a year or more to really fade the hyper pigmentation on my face so it looks like my skin again. The cost isn't as bad as it seems. I'm still on my first tube after a month of applying it generously 2x daily (sometimes 3) on my cheeks.

Pros:

After 2 weeks, I am seeing significant improvement in a 2 yr old red spot. I am thrilled.

Cons:

can flake if you used too much or don't rub it in thoroughly. A small price to pay. Don't use the cream as it contains comedogenic ingredients.

I used to pick pimples which left me with some ugly red marks. They weren't raised or indented, but I had them for almost 2 years. I have been ussing Mederme Gel 3-4 times daily with a q-tip and now I can barely see the spots. I am so happy. I was considering chemical peels and lasers, but was reluctant because I scar so easily. I tried this stuff as a last resort, not expecting it to do jack. I am shocked. Seriously, buy it.

Pros:

Easy to apply, can be worn under makeup

Cons:

Skin peeling.

The product works. Since mederma fades skin, I used to Q-tip to apply the gel only to my acne scars. My skin became very dry and peeled, however, the scar underneath was significantly lighter. Side note: I'm African-American. I will continue to use Mederma.
