Try taking a handful of pantothenic acid every day before you do anything else. A researcher discovered that megadoses of this B vitamin can cure acne. It's cheap and readily available without prescription. You have little to lose but your acne.

Pros:

refining mask and green tea moisturizer are great products

helps clear my acne fast

inexpensive compared to competition

Cons:

drying
needs use consistantly (daily)
ineffective treatment of acne scars
time consuming

I have adult onset acne mild ->moderate, this helps a little. But if I miss a few days acne consistantly returns. Very drying and ages my skin with overuse. But not sure if any topical acne treatment out is perfect or cures the problem of acne. I recommend this for mild acne use, but only once daily. Twice daily is drying for me.

Pros:

Well It actually did work for me for about 6 to 8 months...

As long as I was using it every day, and also taking the pills too.

Straight forward system.

Easy to use and apply

Started to see results after the 2 month mark

The ability to customize your order to suit your skin needs.

Cons:

After the 6 to 8 month mark I started to get really bad breakouts, and really bad dark circles on the sides of my lips and chin area

Well it worked good for about 6 months or so. But I think my skin just go use to it. After that my skin got worse and worse, so had to stop.

Pros:

-removed acne for a while and relatively quickly
-kept it away for a while
-moisturizer works and works as sunscreen

Cons:

-stops working as you build up a tolerance to it
-once you build up the tolerance, it actually makes your acne get worse

I needed a quick fix before my junior prom so I tried proactiv. I had about a week and half to play with, and it worked wonders. I was totally clear and thrilled after struggling with mild acne for a few months. I continued using it for 9 months and it worked great! I was completely clear except for the occasional pimple. I was used to flawless skin until my junior year started. hormones? I dont know. but I had some acne. In January, it seemed to stop working. I dont know if it was the "new" proactiv or what, but it wasnt clearing me up. I took a break, tried probably 4 different treatments (exposed, baking soda, la roche posay), and nothing worked as well as proactiv had. Finally, after trying Exposed for a month with mixed results, I figured I'd try Proactiv again. I was down south and working out a lot, where I'd sweat, and I thought the cleanser with the beads would help exfoliate my skin. I couldnt have been more wrong. After seeming to help the first week, the next two were a disaster. I just went in circles. A zit would start receding just for another one to reappear elsewhere. It drove me crazy. Now I'm frustrated as possible and don't know what to do....college starts in a month and I have no idea what I should do to stop this problem. I do know, though, that I"m done with proactiv

Pros:

exfoliates well, controls oil well

Cons:

drying, ineffective, EXPENSIVE!, ruins towels and pillowcases.

I've used Proactiv with dedication for nearly 3 years. It helped make my skin feel clean and exfoliated really nicely, but didn't make a huge difference as far as breakouts. Plus any clearing up I had was lost if I skipped one treatment. It's horribly expensive compared to similar things you can buy in drugstores. Lastly, I've ruined all my towels and pillowcases from the bleaching effects of benzoyl peroxide. I think the biggest plus is the lotion, which does actually seem to control the bacteria and oil on my skin throughout the day. Honestly starting birth control did way better things for my acne than this stuff has! If what you need to control acne is clean skin, you can find a cheaper way to do it.

Pros:

the packs that you can get, its good to pick which one suits you. and which you can afford. bought mine at a kiosk, good costermer service. smells pretty good, smells like sunscreen to me.

Cons:

takes a while to see results at least a week or two. i get a burning sensation when i use the toner/lotion, and skin turns red and itchy in some paces, (im not allergic tho)

goood product if nothing is working to get rid of your acne its a bit expensive for thos with not alot if money. tip; some people use the lotion (number 3 bottle in the 3 step system) as a mousturizer when its actualy not. in the basic pack it does not come with a mousturizer so i would recomend going up to a pack that does or buy a mouturizer because proactive might and probably will dry out your skin.

Pros:

Cheaper then most acne treatments. Lotion works fine

Cons:

Dries your face out, end up using the month supply before the month is over because of how dry your skin is.

Doesn't work. Would not recommend. The lotion is fine everything doesn't work. Did not clear up my face, all the dryness made me brake out even more.

Pros:

I guess it cleans your face?

Cons:

This product barely did anything, not worth the hype. It actually made my skin oilier?

I stopped using my dermatologist prescribed products because I had so much faith in proactiv. I continued to break out heavily, & constantly looked in the mirror & tried to convince myself that it was working when it never was. This product would probably be great if you want to stop the OCCASIONAL pimple or two, but not if you have consistent acne.

Pros:

-cleanses well
-works great for big breakouts

Cons:

-rough if you have sensitive skin
-very drying
-causes and wont get rid of my white bumps
-can damage skin

its an okay product that is better for severe acne, not just little whiteheads and pimples. Its very drying so moisturize and exfoliate.
