Pros:

It works, you just have to give it time and use it correctly.

Cons:

If you order online, they will send you more product and bill you monthly without telling you.

I was suffering from some very bad acne on my upper cheek area, close to the hair line. It was adult acne, very bad too. I tried everything for about a year, nothing was working. It was terrible too because I never had acne before. I gave up and tried Proactiv against the poor user reviews. Well, my acne is completely GONE, my skin looks porceline again, I am so happy! At first, I made the mistake of putting the cleanser and serum around my eyes, DO NOT DO THIS. This stuff really dries out your skin. And my skin is very sensitive. It burned, badly, the skin around my eyes. I changed it up. I used the cleanser ONLY on the affected area, my own toner, the serum ONLY on the affected area and my own moisturizer (Oil of Olay, have always used this product). After a few weeks, the acne was gone. I stopped using the serum. I only use the cleanser now and sparingly. I will stop this soon as well. I also made some more changes regarding lifestyle, I went back to the gym and started drinking more water. My acne is gone, I am thrilled, I no longer look like a teenager, my skin is gorgeaous again. It really did make a difference for me!!!!! I am acne free and I am so happy.

Teenage Cystic Acne Finally Subdued!!!
I've had awful acne since the fourth grade, and I mean constant severe cystic acne due to natural hormones and stress. I've tried everything, from the drugstore to multiple prescriptions from the doctor, you name it, I've used it. Nothing seemed to really get rid of the acne. Then I tried Proactiv. It lessened my acne and redness significantly in just a few weeks. It was sadly the last thing I tried since I was skeptical from all the gimmicky infomercials. Don't let that deter you. It does make my skin very dry, (even the moisturizer has Benzoyl Peroxide), so I don't even use it as directed. Instead of twice a day, I use it before bed along with my rosewater witch hazel toner and then I just use the witch hazel toner in the morning. I look like a completely different person from pictures last year. I love this stuff. Thank you, Proactiv!!! P.S. If this is drying your skin out, go to using it ONCE a day and BUY A MOISTURIZER. I use Neutrogena's face lotion for sensitive skin. The Proactive moisturizer is great but it's meant to reduce oil and kill bacteria too, so it can really dry out sensitive skin. Just use the system, and then after everything dries, slap a squirt and a half of the Neutrogena on your face and bam. I use the Neutrogena along with my Thayer's rosewater witch hazel toner which actually tones and moisturizes. If it's drying you out, don't send it back before trying this! I've been using Proactiv for almost two years.

Sulfur mask for acne
I watched the commercial and I was complelled to buy. I wasn't really impressed with the kit but I did like the Sulfur refining mask. So my Dermatologist recommended using a different brand that has been around for 50 years. He suggested using Joesoef Skin Care Sulfur soap 10% with .25% Salicylic Acid. After the first day I can see and feel the difference in my complexion. It's been 3 weeks now and my break outs have diminished even during my pms which is amazing. I've also added into my skin regimen their Joesoef Acne Sulfur 6.6% drying lotion, which I use as a spot treatment targeting my break out areas. I leave it on overnight for maxium affect. These Sulfur products are a must have and worth every penny. I haven't been back to my Dermatologist in months.

Pros:

NONE!!

Cons:

Too Pricey
Keep sending you their products even after you say you'll try only once meaning they take money from your credit card!
More breakouts.

Let me tell you of my "experience" with the AMAZING *snorts, yeah right* Proactive. I was like many of you, I suffer from Bad Acne and I always heard about the joys of Proactive and thought "Why Not? It worked for others so it might work for me" My mom bought it and my initial thought was 'I hit the jack pot! Now I'll never suffer from acne again!' WRONG!! My face was always irritated and I had even more excessive oily skin. I had acne ALL the time using it which caused alot more blemishes. Acne made me feel like I was the most ugly person in the world and I HATED to look on my face. I was horrible around boys due to it and I never had any self confidence. It hurt to see all the other girls with flawless skin and I was stuck with horrid skin. My hopes in this product was in vain. Clearsil worked alot better than Proactive ever had! I don't know about you guys but they kept on sending me their product even though my mom only wanted it for one use, BUNCH OF CROOKS AND LIARS! I would never recommend this to any one with bad acne, my friend uses it and it works for her, then again she never suffered from bad acne to begin with :/ Stay clear guys I beg you! :(

Pros:

You sometimes get free gifts, but you sometimes have to pay to have them shipped so there not really free.

Cons:

Doesn't work.
Gets expensive.
They automatically try to bill you for new shipments if you don't contact them far enough in advance to cancel.

I used this product when my acne was at my worst in highschool. I was excited and pumped myself up that I was finally gonna have clear, beautiful skin. I noticed a difference after 2 weeks my skin looked clearer, smoother and I felt more confident. Then everything went down hill. My routine didn't change but my face got worse until after 2 1/2 months I quit wasting my money. It wasn't my makeup because I usually don't wear any so the product just didn't perform like it should have. Major let down. Please don't waste your money.

Pros:

None .

Cons:

- dries out skin
- does not get rid of acne
- makes acne worse
- very hard to end the "contract"
- they keep charging you

I am 14 and i started using proactiv five months ago. I was really excited when i ordered it because it has helped so many people. The first week i started using it, it dried my skin and it did nothing for my acne. I was really dissapointed, but i kept using it to see if my results would be different. But NOTHING CHANGED ! My acne became even worse and the product bleached out my shirts, and towels. I would never buy proactiv ever again, but everyone's skin is different, it might work for you.

Pros:

Sulfar mask can be nice and the lotion really hydrates without getting oily skin

Cons:

EXPENSIVE
i like the stuff but I don't like it used together

I bought Proactiv from my local mall, because I heard about the issues people have with closing the account if they don't like it. Well I like the way it made my skin soft a little more radiant. But it did nothing for my acne after 2 months I said forget it because people also said once you stop using it it makes your skin worse well it didn't work so I said forget it. I stayed on it 2 times a day no difference at all. I do like the lotion the sulfar mask is really nice the toner i only use on my cheeks where the pores can be large and the face wash only where I break out which is my jawline(suffer from adult acne). But I believe adult acne is something inner I dont think my skins the issue

Pros:

Helps to keep acne under control, comes with 3 step kit, uses BP as main ingredient

Cons:

Overpriced small packages, harsh cleanser, and the skin around my mouth got really dry after using it for a week (although I expect this would happen with any BP product)

I've been on Proactiv for a week and some days and it's working pretty well. It's helped to keep my acne under control for the most part. I've gotten 2 tiny pimples that went away within a day or two while using Proactiv. Before I started using it, I had a few under-the-surface pimples on my forehead that took a while to go away too even after using Proactiv. Proactiv is on the right track by using BP--I think ultimately their Repairing Lotion is the best part of the kit. The cleanser is exfoliating and uses BP as well, which makes it esp. harsh. It's not good to exfoliate your skin everyday, so I don't even use the cleanser. The toner is all right, although it seems unnecessary. I don't think it does anything. proactiv is way overpriced though for such small bottles, I think you could get the same result by using regular BP on your face everynight/morning.

nope
I wish there was an option for 0 stars becuase this product deserves it. Proactiv is a scam for your money. I personally have combination oily skin but more towards the oily side. Within the first 2/3 days my skin was so dry I had to stop using it but i tried again and kept with it for about 3 months. I cannot emphasize how much this product doesnt work its drying and it burns and it does not clear acne I would recommend only to my worse enemies.

Pros:

acne improved slightly

Cons:

deceptive company
made skin hurt
drying

This is just benzoyl peroxide with a lot of celebrity endorsement. It's also a huge scam. I called to order the $19.95 special they promote all the time. Turns out, it was actually $19.95 (x3months which they automatically billed) and then you're signed up for a subscription service where they continue to send you new kits and bill you until you call and cancel. I only used the stuff for a couple weeks and decided it was junk. I should have sent it back, but i figured it was only twenty bucks and not worth the time and money to ship. Little did I know it was not only twenty bucks, and it was only when I called after getting a surprise second shipment that I found this out. The woman on the phone who I ordered the kit from did not make any of this clear. It's designed to be confusing so that people don't realize what they're signing up for. I feel like an idiot for falling for it.
