Pros:

really evened out my skin tone for about two months.

Cons:

-after a couple of months my skin started to break out again
-made my already oily skin even oilier
-a pain to use so many products twice per day

I have pretty oily skin, especially in the T-zone, and Proactiv made it oilier. I had to blot my face in the bathroom at work a couple of times a day, and if I put my hand to my forehead--whoa oil slick. The products did really even up my skin tone for a couple of months, but mild-mod acne is now back. Also, I never stopped getting cystic acne while using Proactiv. AND it caused my forehead to breakout in little bumps--a new thing for me. I've read too many great reviews of MUCH cheaper products on this website and I'm ditching this stuff. It's hard to get, costs a lot of money, and obviously gets middling results for many users.

Pros:

Skin smooth, cleared pimples to begin with

Cons:

Dries out skin, blackheads increased, pores on face increased in size, massive pimples that would take weeks to disappear

When I first began using this product it really worked for me, I loved it, but I started getting really giant volcano like pimples that would leave bad scares that are still with me. I started getting pimples in places that I normally didnt get pimples, it was just a disaster! Its wayyyy too overpriced, if it really worked, it would be in supermarkets not on infomercials or kiosks.

Pros:

not much really.. it did seem to work the first couple of months that I used it

Cons:

A year later it didn't seem to have much of an effect on my acne at all. I would breakout with huge pimples every month. Not to mention it dries out my skin so badly and this is coming from one who has non-sensitive and extremely oily skin

Don't buy it. It might work near the start but in the long run its not worth it and a lot of money will be wasted meaninglessly. And since its a US product its like 60 dollars in Canada

Pros:

Cleanser wasn't half bad.

Cons:

Dried out skin horribly, turned my face a bright red, just really irritating. Didn't clear me up at all.

I decided to go ahead and give it a try since it was so advertised I was like "Oh what the heck?". I have to say, it had been the most horrible thing I have ever tried. It made my face itch horribly, turned my face red all over and didn't do anything for my acne. I don't even have my acne that bad, and it was still horrible for my skin.

Pros:

Proactiv worked great for a year and then it stopped working altogether.

Cons:

It made my chin excessively dry and peeling.

I am a licensed esthetician and I have talked to many clients. People should not be putting benzyl peroxide on their skin.

Cons:

althought it made my face smooth, it didn't do ANYTHING to my ance. and within a month my face was soo red and hurt, that I had to stop, cuz nomatter what I did it stayed red and so did the ance

bottom line is that it didn't work for me at all. just made my face red and the ance was still there.

Pros:

Skin felt very soft and clean, easy to use. The sulfur mask worked great for single zits and pimples.

Cons:

The bottles are so small. It's expensive and it bleached my towels.

The first few weeks of using Proactiv was awesome. My skin looked better than it had in years and I was being complimented all over the place. Then, it started to go downhill. I had heard from people that discontinuing this product, even for only a short time, would cause breakouts to return, so I was RELIGEOUS about using it twice a day every day. After 2 months of CONSTANT use my acne was right back to where it started. My skin responded so well at first, and then it was like my skin got used to it or something. In my defense I would also like to let everyone know that during my use of this product I neither started or ended any medications, changed my diet, or switched makeups (since I know those kinds of things can contribute to skin problems). In Proactiv's defense, I know that not everyone is the same. Certain products might work awesome for some people and have an adverse reaction for others. If everything worked as well as it was said to, no one would have any problems.

Pros:

the free mask...the cleanser is good....great 4 mild acne...

Cons:

DRY's YOUR SKIN OUT!!!...made acne worst...burned my skin....price is ridiculous...

PROACTIV has/have some convincing commercials with celebs which makes it really appealing...1st the price is ridiculous...next PROACTIV made my face so dry that i began to breakout even worst...everytime i washed i felt like my face was burning...PROACTIV is excellent for moderate acne...my cousin bought this product and suffered the same results i did...i think it's way to strong...the CLEANSER is the best as well as the MASK...they automatically put you in this "club" and start sending you this stuff every month!!!...terrible...BOTTOM LINE made my acne worst....
