Pros:

Cleared my skin for a short time.

Cons:

This product is an absolute nightmare when you stop using it. My face is a disaster and it seems like EVERYTHING is coming to the surface.

I started using it when I went on birth control and began to have skin problems. I stuck with it for several years and it never worked that great, but I was afraid to stop. Finally, I decided to stop using it (even though I knew what might happen) and it's just HORRIBLE. It seems like everything is coming out of my skin and it's just not stopping. I've since been using a gentle cleanser, toner and moisturizer...and apple cider vinegar toner at night. The ACV seems to be helping quite a bit. I think if I wasn't using it my skin would be much worse, with more deep cystic acne. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. If your skin is bad, consider other options. It's not worth the pain and suffering you will go through when you stop using the product. It's gotten to the point where I'm so depressed and feel so ugly that I want to stay in the house and hide. PLEASE DO NOT USE PROACTIV. The product will only damage your skin further in the long run.

Cons:

I have a 14 year old on proactiv, he was hoping this would help his acne as school can be hard when you are teased. IT DOES NOT WORK!! IT IS EXPENSIVE

I have spent alot of money on this treatment for my son thinking this product would help his acne which would make attending school easier without being picked on. What a waste of money

Pros:

when i wash my face at night and have a few blemishes, when i wake up the next morning they have already began to diasappear.

Cons:

Dried my skin at first but not as bad anymore. if i stop using it for a few days i begin to breakout.have to use other Proactive products in order to see better results and those products can be pricey.

people get frustrated after the first few weeks, it took me about 4-6 weeks to see results and yes i did break out but it was only because it was "disinfecting" my skin. it takes a blemish about 6 weeks to breakout from underneath the skin. But after those 6 weeks i saw awesome results and loved it.It is also very important to use twice a day!

Pros:

smells nice, the face mask is great

Cons:

expensive, feels heavy.. etc. terrible

I thought possibly this could be my miracle product but, it wasn't. It didn't work for me, it just broke me out more because it is way to strong. As for my brother it worked for him but, after he stopped using proactiv the acne all came back. If you do something physical and sweat it burns your face and makes it irritated. My face felt completely oily. It can get quite expensive. You can surely try it but, for me i'll never be a customer again. Thanks to paid actors i've wasted good money.

Pros:

Absolutely works as promised. I'll never be without it! Cleared my skin in just a few days.

Cons:

Is drying. Try my suggestions below. They also carry a milder version. Check out the website.

A never had acne until I hit 35 - got the dreaded adult onset kind. Suffered for 5 years, then wised up and ordered Proactiv. Works great! Is very drying as others have stated, so I use the three steps at night only followed by a good non-comedogenic night cream (Olay works great), and wash thoroughly with water only (no cleanser or toner) in the morning and follow with the repairing lotion and a good non-comedogenic day cream w/SPF 15 (very important!). Would absolutely recommend. Saved my complexion from those nasty zits!

Pros:

none

Cons:

This stuff does not work
it is expensive

They use lots of advertising to make it look appealing. They say it is the most purchased acne product but the only reason for that is all the advertising and celebrity endorsements. I used this for a while and it did not help me at all. Trust me if you have mild acne stick to a typical Benzoyl peroxode product. I use Oxy Maximum Strength 10% bp treatment 2 times a day and it works better than anything else. I also use Zap Zits for my T- line and for spot treatments.

Cons:

3 steps twice a day.. sheesh - and it made my skin SO DRY!!

It did nothing for me but dry up my skin so bad I could barely move my face! But did nothing for the acne!

Pros:

It arrived just a few days after I ordered it.

Cons:

It dried my skin out, it smelled bad, it was really expensive.

It dried my skin out so bad that it was painful, and my face started to flake off, my cheeks turned bright red, and I actually looked old because my skin looked like leather. It felt like I had a really bad sunburn. I ended up going and buying some lotion and new face wash. Just a suggestion but I got Neutrogena Healthy Skin lotion spf 15 ($10.00), and pHisoderm ($4.00) (it's in a mint green bottle with a gold lid) you can get them at wal-mart and my skin has cleared up in about a week, dry skin and all for anyone who is still looking for something that works, maybe this will help you out. I used pHisoderm all though school and it has always kept my face clear. I will never suggest that anyone uses Proactive it was horrible!!!

Pros:

clears most acne up (depending on the cause and degree of your acne) immediately, a good combination of products, the mask is great when used properly on larger outbreaks, Smooth face, gentle exfoliation, less inflamed acne, ance scar improvement.

Cons:

It does happen to get worse before it gets better when you first try it. dries out your skin (especially in winter, also depending on your skin type) the moisturizer doesn't help much, requires patience - could have more product for the price.

It clears up most acne i have had, chances are that if your acne isn't at a bad degree- this stuff will help you out. Sudden outbreaks may take time to disappear, for that i use their mask, which contains sulfer and is great for overnight treatments. I would recommend using this system as instructed, but if you notice your skin is too dry, (depending on your acne & skin type) don't hesitate to use it once a day instead of twice a day and use a natural cleanser (like tea tree oil or a cream cleanser) to substitute. when you first try it your skin will be irritated and it will get worse before it gets better, stick with it (you might read a lot of reviews saying, "it stops working!") I find its pretty gentle after awhile once you deal with the dryness and learn how to work with it based on your acne and skin type. this system requires patience and is marketed to allow you to believe it'll magically make your acne disappear, it may well be the case but not for all faces.

Pros:

worked for my husband

Cons:

Made my eyes red and itchy and my skin really dry until it adjusted. Seemed to work at first but then stopped. Bleaches towels.

Works for some, didn't for me.. Price wouldn't be a problem if it worked, I'd pay just about anything... I also think that if it is bleaching fabric it can't be great for my skin...
