Pros:

Product lasts quite a while. Worked great for 1st year.

Cons:

Stopped working almost to the day after I had been using it a year. Lotion wasn't very helpful, has acne treatment in it which I think dries you out even more instead of helping.

My acne is always around my jawline and chin. I tried a ton of other products and then decided to try Proactiv. I was warned by several people that Proactiv works for a while and then stops, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. It worked so great for the first year. My face was clearer than it had ever been. Then after my first year was up, it stopped working. My face is now back to how it was before. I waited a long time and then tried Proactiv again, and still no luck. I think that you just become immune to it.

Pros:

I'm 45 years old and have had an acne problem since 15. I heard about Practiv a few years ago and tried it.The BP was irritating at first so i reduced the usage and continued to use it with great success. Where was this product 30 years ago?!

Cons:

I wish this product could smooth out the scarring and reduce the redness of the scars. I hate being under certain lighting because the scars are so visible.

I contiue to use Proaciv just because it keeps the pimples away. My skin feels smooth to touch and there is no irritation. Try it. Start out slow and have patients. Proactiv works!

Pros:

This product is inexpensive, gradually clears up acne and is easy to use.

Cons:

Causes skin to become dry which may be uncomfortable.

I've used this product for about a month and have noticed a positive change in my skin. My acne has decreased and is much more tolerable. The product leaves my face feeling clean and fresh. My skin tone has also evened out since I've begun using it. I believe that acne medications are different for everyone depending on the ph and hormone levels in your body. I tried this product a few years ago an it didn't work. But, now I have a great improvement.

Pros:

What a waste of money........

Cons:

A big waste of money....

Id love to see the 'people' who do the Proactiv ads, get right close up to them when there is no makeup on them, fancy lighting, cameras etc and see what their skin really looks like. Proactiv did nothing in improving my skin, the toner burnt my skin, made it red and itchy.....my skin broke out more. I tried using it twice...in a 2 year period...did nothing. This stuff sucks and is a big joke.....waste of money if you ask me!

Pros:

Improved my complexion and the smaller bumps but the larger bumps were still there.

Cons:

After I ran out the acne came back worse than ever.

The toner and "free" sulfur cream is the best part, the rest is just for show. I recommend to anyone with minor acne, not major like mine.

broke out even more than before
still breaking out even more than before 1 month after stopping product use.

i started using proactine to get rid of the occasional pimple. now i have even more than before. my skin looks ten times worse than it did before.i started using procative.

Pros:

NONE!

Cons:

-Takes out all moisture in face!
-Burns like hell when you use it!
-Made my face really red!

I thought that Proactiv would really work for me, so i told my mom to buy me Proactiv 2 weeks ago. After i started using it, 2 days later my face got really dry and it got irritated to the Proactiv. EVERYTIME i used the cleanser it would dry up my face and when i put on the toner it made it even worse and worst of all it BURNED so bad, the repairing lotion was even worse! After about 5 minutes that the repairing lotion had been on, it turned my face completely red like i got a really bad sunburn. i stopped using it for about 3 days and my face is still red. it did NOT help at all and it was way to espenzive. i still have my recipt and i hope i can return it.

Pros:

Cleared it in the beggining.
refining mask really does help.

Cons:

it gets immune to your skin at some point.
it makes the skin oily and darker.

even though it does itch, do not use another product, because it would be hard to return back to the original effects of proactive.

Pros:

Cleared my son's skin for a day or so...

Cons:

Severe allergic reaction. He's been in pain for a few days now - using benedryl and hydrocortizone cream. His face looks burned.

Test it on a small patch of skin first - be careful.

Pros:

Works for other people like Vanessa Williams, Kelly Clarkson, Puff Daddy.

Cons:

Has not improved my complexion, on the con trier it has made it less desirable to look at. My pillow sheets are bleached.

I am very serious about winning my battle with acne. I did the routine to the "T". My face was bombarded with many massive white heads within the first three weeks then swarmed with tiny pustules for the last two months. They acne has not gone away. I am left with more scarring and acne than before. I am sure this will work on others. For facial reference, I have oily and a mild amount of hair, plus I am of Latin origin.
