Pros:

The product works. I noticed a difference within a week.

Cons:

Very harsh. It left my face unnaturally dry.

The product works but I am wary about using something so harsh on my face on a regular basis. After using proactive my face was always unaturally dry even with moisturizer. I discontinued use after a month. Instead of proactive, I now use: (a) Helene Facial Scrub (b)Aveeno Cleanser (c) Toner and (d) Aveeno Moisturizer. This seems to be working so far. Best wishes.

Pros:

well,
i have been using proactiv for about 2 months now, & the little acne bumps vanished but the bigger blemishes took a while to go away. In my opinon proactive is a pretty good product but it dosent wook with everyones skin.

Cons:

Its on the pricey side

Proactive eather works or it dosent. Stop using it if your skin isnt getting beter, dont even waste your money.

Pros:

works after a while, skin feels great after application, no dryness like with other products

Cons:

doesn't work as quickly as advertised, doesn't clear all kinds of acne, caused breakouts where I didn't have them before using this product, takes a little too long to apply because it's 3 products, smells a bit medicinal

I think how well this product works depends on what kind of skin you have, i.e. how sensitive your skin is, oily/dry/normal, what kind of acne you're looking to clear up and maybe even things like race/gender. I have somewhat sensitive skin and have never really been able to tell whether or not it is abnormal or oily. I tend to get acne that leaves scars/dark spots on my face that take a long time to go away, and Proactiv didn't really help that. I also never had acne on my forehead or chin before using Proactiv, but now I seem to have that problem for life, even though I don't use Proactiv anymore. My skin seemed to break out before it cleared it. It also didn't work any quicker than regular, cheaper products with Salcylic Acid in them for me on my more standard acne, and that is what I'm back to using, plus the Clearasil 3-day tube that has the same active ingredient that is in Proactiv but at a higher percentage which results in standard pimples going away quicker than with Proactiv

Pros:

smoother, clearer skin
less oily skin
smells great

Cons:

makes your skin REALLY dry if you dont use a good moisturizer
skin gets worse before better

for the most part, it works. for everyone that said it makes your skin too dry b/c the 'lotion' doesnt help it.. its b/c its not actually a 'lotion'.. its just the medication. you still have to use a moisturizer or else it dries out your skin too much and causes MORE oil. i have really oily skin and this makes it way less oily. and one more thing.. for some your skin gets worse before it gets better (like me) when you start using it, which is b/c it has to clear out the impurities first.

Pros:

It works pretty good. It takes about a month to clear things up a little and the second month clears things up a little more. It definitely keeps your acne under control(no morning breakouts or huge whiteheads).

Cons:

There was nothing bad about it. Except it made my face a little red but thats all.

I've used it for about 2 months and have seen pretty good results( and this was during football season). I definitely think now that football is over, I'll start seeing even better results.

Pros:

works very fast, did improve my skin a lot, smells ok, and makes your face clean and fresh

Cons:

it did dry out my skin a little

when i started using proactiv, it began to work and i became so excited, so excited that i was using WAY to much of the product and thats why my skin was so dry. My advice would be to use a tiny bit of the cleanser, toner, and moisterizer. A TINY BIT!!! then, after the three step system buy OLAY moisturizer...omg this has worked with the system so well1!! try it!!! you also should wear sun screen everytime you go outside. The proaciv mask also works wonders JUST REMEMBER---only a tiny bit! :)

Pros:

Well packaged, easy to understand. Clears blackheads.

Cons:

Weird smell, dry/red face for the first week.

Im 20 years old, I first started using Proactiv in high school. I wish I was able to get the Green tea moisteriser then because you do get very dry when you first use the system. My acne seemed to tone down at the end of high school. I stopped using the system, and then months after my old oil slicks, pimples, and huge black heads came back. I've been on the sytem for a week now using the Greem tea aswell and today the redness went down drastically, and my black heads are gone. I have a few pimples, but they are going down and no new pimples are coming up.

Pros:

Proactiv worked well when I followed the whole system and used it as they only directed. Helped with my oily face.

Cons:

It worked well but I found a few months down the road I started to break out again, not as severe as before but I would still have breakouts
Face mask made my face smell like rubber
Also ordering it through the mail was a pain, ended up with to

I like all the products except the smell of the face mask. I believe Proactiv will work if you are willing to stick with a strict program of twice a day with three products and once or twice a week with the face mask. I think it didn't work for me after a few months because I wasn't willing to stick with the program.

Pros:

Works well if you use ONLY the cleanser, and then follow up with Clearasil.

Cons:

Can be expensive if you waste your money on the toner and cream.

OK, I have been experimenting with this stuff for about a year. My advice is this... Just use the cleanser at night. Once your skin is bone dry (about 5-10 minutes), follow up with Clearasil. Use Noxema in the morning, and again follow up with clearasil. When you order the 3 piece system, get 3 cleansers (the toner and cream are a waste). This seems to work for me... I still get acne, but nothing like before I used the Proactiv. I just order a 3-piece set of all cleansers about every 4 months. So it only costs me about $135 a year. Just use it at night... That's when most problem acne seems to form. Use the $3 Noxema during the day and drink alot of water, and I think you will see an improvement.
