Pros:

ProActive works to an extent

Cons:

Too high, It works if you use it the way you are supposed to, but if u stop using it for even a day, the pimples & black heads return

Proactive does work. But, if you plan on using it to keep your skin clear all the time, once u start using it, u can't stop. And after using it for almost 6 months, it kept my skin clear, but i still had blackheads, and a few reoccuring pimples. I prefer using ivory soap now, it keeps my face softer, and cleaner, and it never gets oily enough to so-call "trap oil" in my pores. Plus, You Dont Have To Spend 15 Minutes Of Your Time every day washing your face!

Pros:

Works for a little while...

Cons:

It dries out skin and can trigger MORE zits after a while...loses its momentum!

The product dries out skin which can trigger even MORE problems...you're much better off using an over the counter product!! PROACTIV IS HOLLYWOOD HYPED!!!!

Pros:

Absolutely None, PROACTIVE = SCAM

Cons:

made my skin get those reddish pimples everywhere, only used to have about 3-4 on the entire face, but the proactive results have produced acne everywhere except my forehead... rubbish product

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, i dont know whats out there that can fix my acne, but im sure as hell, going to only try what the chemist gives me, NOT GIMICKS OFF TV.

Pros:

it did work for a while

Cons:

it stopped working the second time I tried it

this product helped clear my skin the first time I tried it but the second time it just made it worst. Now, my skin is dry and I still break out. I have scars on my chin and cheeck from these new break outs, and I had never had acne on those places before. It's disappointing and, in all honesty, it makes me feel stupid for ever beliving it would work.

Pros:

Smells good, but that's about it. Started clearing a little in the first week but then....

Cons:

...my skin started itching and it DRIED MY FACE OUT!!! They said it won't but it does.

This is at least not for people with very sensitive skin. I have that. I was super excited because I started breaking out bad on one side of my face and I figured, I've tried everything but this. Let's try it. It started clearing the zits but after about 4 days it started drying my face out really bad and it was red and itchy and flaky. You'd thought I'd gotten a bad sunburn!! It might work for some but definitely not everyone. I would recommend St. Ives scrub for cleansing normal to oily skin (like mine) and then I use Mary Kay moisturizer and It's working for me very well. This is just me though, if you are allergic to either, which I've met some who are, don't use it. But as for Pro Activ, they will not receive a cent more from me, especially because they don't cover shipping when you send it back.

Pros:

In my experience, there have been NO "pros" to useing this system.

Cons:

Where do I begin? Expensive, ineffective, damaging, etc.

When I ordered proactiv I got very mild acne. Mostly hairline pimples and occasional chin zits. Proactiv felt nice at first, but then it started to make me get zits in places I had NEVER had problem skin before (along the sides of my cheeks... outwards from my mouth... the space in between my nose and my lip. I finally decided that this system was not working for me. Instead, I bought some spectro jel and some Yon-Ka moisturizer for sensitive skin in the hopes of healing and soothing my burning skin... now... like many of the other reviewers, I have a painful rash on my cheeks. It looks like acne, but it is really just raised, red and painful marks along the side of my face. I only stopped the system this past week, so I'm hopeing that this is a reaction to a change in product and won't be long-term. I'm scared from reading the other reviews that it will be. If you value your skin, please do not buy this product. It is not only a scam, but it can actually DAMAGE your skin.

Pros:

Wow, this stuff is great. I have mild, usual teenage acne and the first weekend I used it, my skin cleared up.
My skin is more glowy, and I love how it added color to my skin.
Sometimes you wake up in the morning, and a whole section of acne is gone!

Cons:

OK, my skin DID get a little flaky. But then I decided after I used the proactiv 3 step system, I'd add some moisterizer with sunscreen on my face and the flakiness went away.

This stuff does work, and it has worked about 10 times better then anything I've ever used. Personally, it doesn't work as good as the commercials, but still more effective then other ones. IF you use it EVERYDAY, your skin will clear up. BTW the refining mask is GREAT.

I had mild acne but I wanted to have clear skin like the commercial. I noticed after a week my neck would itch and burn really bad. On week 3 of using the Proactiv I develope a rash all over my neck. I went to the doctor and I was advised to stop using the product. Once I stopped that rash gradually went away.

Pros:

I noticed a difference in the color and texture of my skin after the first week. It was much smoother and there was less redness/irritation.

Cons:

It takes a long time to see real results.
You must follow the regimen religiously for 4 - 6 weeks to see dramatic improvement, but even then it doesn't completely prevent breakouts.

I like Proactiv, but I have mild/moderate cystic acne, and it has done little for the larger bumps. It did improve my skin; it just didn't completely clear it. I don't think it's strong enough for cystic acne.
