Pros:

Cleared my skin, better than it was before, but not for blackheads.

Cons:

Fragrance became an irritant to my skin and became allergic to benzoyl peroxide. I could also not take this on a trip out of the USA! Not on the list as approved drug in Europe (unless you have a doctors prescription!)

You MUST use it twice daily as recommended. It may or may not work for others, but for me, it was a waste of money and the shipping charges $6.95 per shipment were becomming terrible.

Pros:

It does help ur skin to stay pimples-free.

Cons:

However, once you stop using the product and change to any others, you'll get the worst face you've ever seen. Even accutane might not help.

I've used the product for 4 yrs. But it's too expensive to last forever so i decided to change to a more affordable and so-called reliable products. I regret my decision as my face is full of acne and scar now! I tried to use back proactiv for 2 yrs, nevertheless it never works for me anymore. Just a word of caution to those who are using proactiv: Don't ever change if you've started using.

results then big steps back..

Pros:

initial skin clearing

Cons:

auto enroll
irritation
felt like a lot of steps to keep up on

I have had many friends and family use Proactive.. My brother had severe acne, so we ordered Proactive. At first we saw great results, were so happy.. then big, sore acne would occur and he would quit using it, then try it again.. same cycle.. due to auto enroll and the difficulty we had cancelling it, the stuff piled up. So i tried it.. It was so many steps, it caused more irritation and caused my skin also to launch a full on rebellion.. same cycle for me and I saw the same for my friends.

Too harsh

Pros:

Cute design

Cons:

Not for dry skin prone
Hassle with makeup+product

It seemed like as soon as I tried this product.. it dried me out and no form of moisturizer could help. NOT good for people with dry skin.

Why, oh why?

Pros:

Easy to do regimen

Cons:

Stopped working
Waste of $$
Horrible customer service

Okay, let's go back to a time when I didn't have acne. It was 2010 and I had to spend a year in Utah. The air in Utah is very dry and the climate change kind of wreaked havoc on my skin. I didn't have acne, but I was experiencing my first "breakouts". Obviously, I panicked and begged my parents to send me some sort of acne products. Of course they send the almighty PROACTIV SOLUTION!! Guaranteed to work or your money back. HA, yeah right. First of all, they send you lots of cleanser and toner, but barely any moisturizer. Last time I checked, applying moisturizer sparingly will not help with the dry Utah air. Anyways, I used this "solution" for a few months and I suppose it helped make the pimples go away. I wasn't strict with the regimen, but it seemed to get the job done. Let's fast forward to January 2011... Why are the pimples coming back? I'm still using Proactiv and they're freaking coming back! I want my money back! Never happened. I made multiple calls, spoke to various people, and I never saw a penny of my money back. Also, it took months for them to stop sending me my auto-shippments and to stop charging my credit card. Horrible company, horrible products. Enough said.

Pros:

will clear skin

Cons:

expensive
cannot stop using or WILL break out
harsh chemicals

I used proactive on and off when I was in high school and college, and no doubt it will clear your skin. But my god if you ever stop using it.............One week I decided to give my skin a break from all the harsh chemicals and also the three step system can get a little tiring. 2 to 3 weeks later I had one of the worst break outs ever.

Pros:

Clears up face
Works Fast

Cons:

HARSH
Only works for a bit
Expensive
Burns

I started using Proactive a couple months ago, and it was terrible. At first, it was okay, but I kept using it and it chemically burned my face. One day, it got so bad I had to be taken home from school. Your skin also becomes addicted to it, and after quitting using it, my skin broke out alot. I am now using the Aveeno clear complexion line, and it is way more gentle. Do not waste your money or time on Proactiv

Pros:

along with all the "free" things i was getting every other month being a proactive member my skin would look decent. the masks and exfoliating cream worked good but those weren't really for treating my acne.

Cons:

made breakouts worse, dried out my skin and even made it more oily some days. my breakouts and acne deferentially got worse after using proactive. the only reason i continued to use it was because it was conveniently shipped to me every month and when i would stop using it for ONE day i would get five extra big pimples.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! DO NOT USE PROACTIVE IF YOU GET MORE THAN ONE ZIT LIKE THE STARS IN THE INFOMERCIALS

Pros:

+ Refining Mask
+ Exfoliates Dead Skin
+ Not Complicated to use
+ Smells nice

Cons:

- Currently There are 2 versions of the product (see below)
- Expensive
- Doesn't clear acne fully
- Irritation and Redness
- Poor product for the price you pay

Proactiv is bogus and overrated just like Murad, Dermalogica, and some others that have great advertisements, high prices to convince that "it must be good since the price is high", and a disappointing letdown of purged skin and low confidence. Honestly it's sad when the 2oz tube of refining mask (which really does work wonders like it claims) is the highlight of the show. This 3 step kit talks the talk but can be out beaten by AcneFree or Neutrogena any day of the week, and I suggest you save your cash for that instead.

Pros:

Clears some acne, but not all
I like the lotion and toner
Didn't dry out my skin

Cons:

Tedious process
Not good at preventing pimples
The cleanser is VERY aggravating especially for inflamed acne
Stupid monthly billing system

It seems like proactiv had the right idea with this system but for some reason it just did not work very well for me. My acne is localized on my cheeks and it may have cleared away my pimples fast, but it did not prevent new ones from forming whatsoever. I gave it 3 months and then got fed up and cancelled the shipments.
