Pros:

I have been experimenting with acne products for 10+ years and this is the only one that has truly worked for me!

Cons:

It's a little pricey

*I split the monthly cost of $45 with my brother and we alternate who gets the package in the mail each month.

I always seemed to have a few monstrous zits that I was extremely self-conscious of. Since I started using Proactive three months ago I haven't had one single zit. My skin is sensitive so I only use the face wash 4-5 times per week, the lotion 3-4 times per week, and the toner about 2 times per week, otherwise my skin gets dry and irritated. I also received the sulfur face mask which I use once a week. It does a great job of reducing the appearance of pores on and around my nose.

Pros:

Makes your feel clean and very soft. Noticed a difference within a few days. I have only been using it now for less than a week. Wow!! I'm loving this stuff!

Recommendation to every one try the "Green Tea" moisturizer!... You should always use moisturizer after cleansing. And remember, it always gets worse before it gets better. This really helped me!

Pros:

Compared to prescription meds, affordable. Smells good. Does not irritate skin. Very effective.

Cons:

Some what time consuming due to the 3 steps. Mask and Daily Oil Control are not worth the money. The product does not diminish or rid scars as it alludes to in the commercials.

I began to have adult cystic acne at 25. OTC stuff did not help. Went to a dermatologist who had me on Triaz wash, Evoclin foam and Retin-A. Up until this past summer the worked for almost 2 years. I became immune and the co-pay as well as the monthly cost for the prescriptions with medical was draining my wallet even with insurance. I figured Proactiv was worth a 30 day trial they were offering. Since 08/2007 I have used Proactiv and have had very minimal breakouts of usually one pimple here and there none of which were huge, painful or cystic. For people who think the product is to harsh, they do have a gentle formula that one can request. My skin was used to the Benzoyl Peroxide already so I did not experience any breakouts; however, people need to understand that any dermatologist will tell you that a new product will cause breakouts at first. Definitely try to stick it out for at least a month as it may be worth it for you in the long run. I swear by it now.

Pros:

My skin was completely smooth. There were no bumps, no red-ness, and I had a healthy glow to my skin. It felt really good going on too.

Cons:

It took it a little while to work. I can't remember exactly how long, but I used it consistently and I got great results. However, as soon as I stopped using it I broke out pretty badly.

It's actually been almost two years since I've used proactive, and I only stopped using it because it was a bit too pricey for me at the time. I just remember that while using it my skin looked better than it ever had. I was thinking of trying it again, but I've read alot of bad reviews on it here lately. So, now I'm kind of afraid. I actually started something new. It's Patricia Wexler's Anti-acne starter kit. I got it at Bath and Body Works. I've been using it for about three weeks now and it seems to really be working. The good thing about it is that it's supposed to also fight aging. It's not drying at all, and feels good going on. I think I might stick to this, hopefully it will keep working.

Pros:

the cleanser is really useful!

Cons:

It doesn't keep my skin less oily like it says it will.. but then again, I still haven't found a product that makes my face less oily. This one is probably the best...

I've used it for over a year, and my face improved A LOT. Though, I wouldn't say that it works for everyone, because that's not true.... but I can say that it worked well for me. The product doesn't sting me anymore, so I guess my face has adjusted to it..? =s is that good? ah well,.... anyway, my face is not completely cleared, but close enough =) (just some stupid scars left ><)

Pros:

Works well (If used correctly), lasts more than 2 months since you don't need that much.

Cons:

Maybe expensive for some, packaging could be better. (Little cheaper since Canadian dollar is at a better rate!)

This is my 2nd attempt with Proactiv. The 1st time was in 2004. I used it for a month & hated it! It made my skin worse & it peeled so badly that I returned it. My cousin is using it (She's 16, I'm 25) & it's been good to her for 2 years now. I reluctantly decided to try it again after my family noticed my own skin getting worse. I started on 10/13/07 & I now wish I got it sooner! The key is patience & using it as recommended. Since I was on Dan's regimen, I was already used to BP so I started at full strength. It recommends to use very little amounts (Dime-size of cleanser, couple dabs of toner, & pea-size of BP). Definitely made my skin HORRIBLE (Peeling, insane acne everywhere) for the 1st month but instead of being annoyed & giving up, I continued with it. Now I'm pretty clear, except for the odd pimple from touching or getting hair product on my face - clears in a day or two. I do use makeup everyday (Everyday Minerals) & eye makeup remover from Neutrogena. Hope this helps!

Pros:

I really enjoyed to see my face chance by week after week. The product really works, but users needs to be loyal to the product and push themselves to use the product correctly. The renewing cleanser and repairing lotion works well.

Cons:

I think for the cost of the Toner, we should get more for the money. I would think about going to fine a toner with the same levels as the proactiv toner. Be careful with color towels while handling the cleanser on your hand, it will change color.

The product work well. After at least two months of using this product, your skin will go to a new level making you feel attractive and better to look at. Almost a feeling of being flawless! Signed CJ Goudeau of Oklahoma

Pros:

I LOVE THIS STUFF. it reallly does work for me
so far..
i have used it for about a month now and my skin really does feel great...slowly the zits are going away! (i have really really horrable acne. on my nose chin and forehead. I LOVE IT!

Cons:

Well one thing i don't like is your face depends on it.
if you were to stop using it you would probably have to go back to it really quickly. i also don't like how you have to use all three... you kant just go back to using just the toner...

i love this product and i love the way it works. you deffinitly have to use it. try it...if it doesn't work then don't use it... jst try it for a month if you don't see the difference then change it out don't use it. my mom buys her facial stuff for like 100.00 just be glad you don't have to spend that much. i buy mine from the mall.

Pros:

It works! It is affordable! It's convenient!

Cons:

None.

I have used over the counter medications, including Accutane, and cheap drugstore products. Basically the over the counter medications and Proactiv have all worked to some degree. I have suffered from burning, dry, cracked, sore skin, but that is because my skin was sensitive and I didn't stop temporarily using the products when they were starting to irritate my skin. Sometimes it takes awhile (4-12 months! Really!), you need to be patient and follow through! If you notice your skin is starting to hurt or continuing to hurt, you need to temporarily stop and use you oil-free moisturizer. And keep ALL acne products away from your eyes and mouth!!! You have to get to know your own skin, and become your own skin doctor to some degree. This product works, especially when used with the refining mask at first!
