Pros:

NONE

Cons:

No moisturizer, dries out skin, bleed, blotchy

I HATE PROACTIV it was such a waste of money! First they start out with the BP wash and then sting your face with toner and OVER that apply BP My experience: Compare to Acne.org Regimen: acne.org--> leaves flakiness but I can moisturize and wash the dead skin away with the gentle cetaphil cleanser proactiv--> face turns red and blotchy, skin becomes TIGHT and scaly, to the point where if you peel your skin off, it starts bleeding

Pros:

I've used proactiv for years and it worked wonders. My face was clear in about a month.

Cons:

You must stay consistent. I felt dependent on the system and did not like how it bounded me in that way so I sought to "escape." This was not a good idea. About a month after switching off of it, I broke out all over and was miserable.

It worked for me and may work for you too. Just stay of it if it does work, there's no point in trying to get off something that has been working for so long. I've tried acne.org "treatment" and feels like i'm putting too much BP on. PRoactiv's recommended dosage of BP was a dime sized amount and that worked for me. The proactiv BP just leaves your skin a bit oily. I am going to get back on the Proactiv system soon. I regret ever trying to get off of it! :(

Pros:

proactive offered a "extra strength kit" that works fine. agents on the phone know what there doing (good customer service), you can order anything you want in there catalog for ur next shipment and the price will stay the same as long as its 3 thing

Cons:

skin did become emune to reg formula. i guess kits are sent out every in 2mnth supplys at 39.90 + 5.99 s&h but if you divide that in half thats still 19.95 a mnth + S&H i just wish they told me they we going to do that.

worked for the first six months, my skin kinda became emune to it. was very angry called proactive they refunded the money for the last kit and then sent me a free extra strength kit which worked fine, now that's what i use.

I have been using this product for the past few months. It began to work at first but lately I have been getting really painful breakouts in spots I never have gotten them before. My acne has also worsened. It also make my skin look whiter after use.

Pros:

Clears some areas for few days

Cons:

stings, dries skin out, only works for a little while and then makes it worse. It's waaay over priced

Don't waste your money on something that is going to make you red and inflamed.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

Expensive. Caused a red rough rash on my face and neck that was painful, stinging and itchy.

I would certainly not recommend this product for anyone. I tried it when I was 18 and had really bad pimples and sensitive red skin. The adds on TV suck you in especially when they say it is ok for all skin types when it is not. I used to for about 2 weeks but had bad side effects after 2 days; continued using out of desperation for fix. Ended up with a red rough rash on my face that stung and was itchy and painful. In the end I have found that a good moisturiser (eg matis sos for sensitive skin), eating healthy and having plenty of water is the best way to treat acne. Try and stay away from the strong chemicals.

Pros:

-Works for a while.

Cons:

-Stops working

I've used Proactive for about two years now. Sure it cleared my skin up in about a month. and i continued to use it through out those years. But my acne has come back 2x worse. Im still using it in hopes that it will clear my acne just a good as it did the first time but i'm loosing hope and currently online looking for a new solution. I think an all natural soultion would be less harsh and clear my skin in a healthy way. You should try the same before you make it worse with Proactive!!!

Pros:

Helps to keep acne under control, comes with 3 step kit, uses BP as main ingredient

Cons:

Overpriced small packages, harsh cleanser, and the skin around my mouth got really dry after using it for a week (although I expect this would happen with any BP product)

I've been on Proactiv for a week and some days and it's working pretty well. It's helped to keep my acne under control for the most part. I've gotten 2 tiny pimples that went away within a day or two while using Proactiv. Before I started using it, I had a few under-the-surface pimples on my forehead that took a while to go away too even after using Proactiv. Proactiv is on the right track by using BP--I think ultimately their Repairing Lotion is the best part of the kit. The cleanser is exfoliating and uses BP as well, which makes it esp. harsh. It's not good to exfoliate your skin everyday, so I don't even use the cleanser. The toner is all right, although it seems unnecessary. I don't think it does anything. proactiv is way overpriced though for such small bottles, I think you could get the same result by using regular BP on your face everynight/morning.

Pros:

None at all.

Cons:

Dried my skin out in a serious way (skin eventually was just peeling off). Cost a ton and i even stuck it out for a long time (probably out of desperation). Made my acne and overall my skin look way worse.

Was terrible and it makes me sick to see the infomercial on all the time. Was expensive and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I haven't used it for a number of years now but I honestly after seeing how much it's advertised would like to discourage people from going into it blindly (do some research and see if anyone else who is not only on the internet has had it work for them). On a side note i would recommend not trying any acne treatments with benzoyl peroxide as a main ingredient. It is a harsh chemical and ESPECIALLY if you have sensitive skin (or dry skin) it will destroy your skin. And if it does work for some people i haven't met any in real life that have had any success (tens and adults alike) so be very skeptical.
