Pros:

-makes me face feel very clean and fresh,
-makes my skin soft
-starting seeing results quickly.

Cons:

-the cleanser is really scratchy and makes my skin a little irratated.
-burns a little at first
-smell is OK..
-makes my skin feel tight. but not a bad kinda of tight.

ok so far im in lovee with this stuff. right away just looking at my skin it looks brighter and has a glow to it.and only after 24 hours alot of my white heads have dissappeared. and my skin just looks clean. the step one cleanser is a little scratchy..almost like a sand paper consistency..but i guess my face will get used to it over time. so far im really liking it and im using it with my dermitologist perscribed differin. it may not work for some people..but for me..BP is what does the trick on my face.

Pros:

Worked for a little while.
Expensive.

Cons:

Dried out and irritated my skin!

I had read so many reviews saying that Proactiv is one of those things that works, then after a while, it is no longer affective. But I still wanted to try it out for myself. So I did. It worked for about a month. Really, the only thing that i think worked was the cleanser. If it is possible to buy the cleanser separately, do that.

Pros:

repairing lotion has saved me, cleanser is exfoiliant.

Cons:

more than usual dryness from repairing lotion but it zaps acne, but takes a day or two. After several years not receiving consistent results, considering switching/looking for alternative.

I began at 16 and your skin needs to adjust when you begin using the product, so I had intense acne on my left check that resembled a rash for 3 months that made me feel awful and ugly. But once it cleared and my skin got used to it it has kept my light acne under control for the last 7 years or so. However I am wondering if it is effective anymore. At 23 I am looking for something less harsh and that doesn't dry out my skin and keeps its smooth and easy to apply makeup. maybe want to switch to acne.org products because my sister has switched from proactiv to those new products and she's more than thrilled. However I am afriad of the outcome of quitting Proactiv and starting over, when I am an actress and need clear skin.

Pros:

Eliminates acne within weeks of begining to use it. Makes skin feel soft and smooth.

Cons:

During and after use, it makes the skin sting, like it is burning from the inside. A couple of days after stinging has occurred, skin began to flake and peel all over the face.

I very recently started using proactiv. When i first began, i was very pleased with the results i was getting. But then about 3 days into using it my skin started to burn/ sting when i started to use the second step and became worse when i used the third step. I delt with the pain but then the skin on my face began to peel off. It was an awful sight. I fixed it with puting lotion on my face. I then limited my use to once a day and i only did the first step, but the side affects kept on happening. I solved it with just stop using the product all together.

Pros:

It's easy to use and makes your skin feel clean afterwords.

Cons:

Sometimes it will seem like it works but then I just end getting yet another huge breakout. Drys out my skin and sometimes causes redness.

Doesn't really work. I am only using it until I find a better regime that doesn't cost a lot and is not harmful.

Pros:

cleared my whiteheads and little bumps on my cheeks

Cons:

I still broke out, dries out my skin, doesn't do much for my nose.

I have light asian skin- olive toned- I have combination skin, sometimes very dry skin, and I would say that this product is okay. The toner worked for a while, then after a few weeks it lost its effect. The BP cream is good, but again it looses it's effect. The scrub is good, but again looses it's effect.

Pros:

Clears up acne. For real. In about 2 months. :D

Cons:

As mentioned many times before, if you try to wean yourself off, you'll get bit in the ass. You're pretty much going to have to use this for the rest of your LIFE. AGH. :/ Oh, and it bleaches towels/pillow cases/etc.

It's aight, but I suggest you search for something cheaper. Some kind of home remedy. Actually, what I myself do works for me, sooo, here's a suggestion: -Proactiv cleanser. -Tape exfoliation. -1 pt. Apple Cider Vinegar + 3 pts water for toner. -Olay active hydration lotion. 1 Glass of goat milk every morning :D

Pros:

It made some part of your face very smooth.

Cons:

Doesn't cure my acne. Dries out my skin. Make my face so red and painful.

I'm using the Japanese version which is modified for sensitive skin. But still it was too harsh for me. I called the customer service to report it, they told me to stop using it but they did not return my money. Don't use it if you have sensitive skin like me or if you're allergic to benzoyl peroxide.

Pros:

It can work, but off and on. I have tried to go off of it to something quicker to use, more affordable and more readily available, but usually have to go back to Proactiv. Once I go back on it, it takes a long time for it to be effective again.

Cons:

It takes 15-20 minutes (morning and evening) to use the 3-step system as directed... not exactly a quick routine. If you have pillowcases that are not white, when you lay your face on them to go to bed, they will have bleached spots by morning.

I have had acne since I was 15, I am now 27. I have used prescription creams and pills (including Accutane). Proactiv is the only face wash that has ever made any type of difference. It totally depends on the person.
