Pros:

Easy to use.
Money Back Guarantee.
Looked Cute?

Cons:

Did NOT Work.
Customer Service a Little Poor.
Pricey.

I have friends that used this product and got good results from using it. I have very oily skin and it did not work for me. The wash was a little ruff on my skin. The toner was a bit drying and would sting. The lotion smelt weird and left my skin very irritated. I disliked this product before the re-formulation and even after. I gave it a 2 only because it worked for my friends, but just wasn't for me I guess?

Pros:

Works at first
Easy to use

Cons:

Harshly dries out skin
Leaves burning redness (like a chemical burn)
Makes acne worse after awhile
Caused me tons of razor bumps after a shave
Expensive
Shady company scamming people
Takes an extra month between shipments

I started proactiv after a few recommendations and while it works at first, i started to develop clusters of deep cystic acne on my face and neck. Also, after every shave i would have clusters of irritated hair follicles that would raise up. Dont even think about stopping it if you start it because your acne gets severely worse even one day without using it (along with a rash that resembles acne). The products are extremely expensive and it seems the regular products cause more problems for other products of theirs to conveniently fix (hmmmm). Skin gets dry and flaky (magically solved by their green tea moisturizer), cysts develop (solved by refining mask), razor bumps (they recommend yet another product), skin gets more oily during the middle of the day (they have another product for that too). Its definitely a good elaborate scam that keeps getting you with more and more money each month. Bottom line, its horrible.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

The Chemicals burned my skin, it made my acne worse- I had moderate acne to begin with, but Proactive made my acne turn into cystic acne- large, deep, painful acne that took FOREVER to go away. Then when I cancelled they continued to charge me after I sent their box back, stating they had a certain day return policy and I sent it too late, then they kept charging me. I had to sic my enraged husband on their terrible customer service.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

Pros:

Seems to clear acne initially

Cons:

VERY drying
Made my skin appeared prematurely aged
After a few months I started getting fleshy white bumps all over my jawline and chin
Stopped working
Ridiculously hard to cancel
$19.95/month + product prices

Proactiv is a very smooth-talking scam. It may work initially but stops after a few months. The occasional blemishes I experienced prior to starting Proactiv were better than the dry skin and weird fleshy bumps it gave me. I've also heard you have to wean yourself off of it to avoid severe breakouts from coming off of the products. I stopped usage slowly, ovet the course of a month, and thankfully no breakout reaction. Bottom line? Don't use Proactiv. It's like crack to your skin and the dry skin and wrinkles it will cause are worse than pimples.

Pros:

Initially effective

Cons:

Dried out my skin
Irritates skin
Stopped working after a few months
Toner stings

I started using Proactiv as a last resort. I have mild acne, with a few bumps popping up around that magical time of the month. Initially Proactiv seemed to help minimize those bumps and actually seemed to prevent new ones from forming. But after a few months of usage (about three) it seemed to stop working. It wasn't because I started slacking off on the twice a day routine of cleansing. Trust me, no one could have been more strict about usage than I was. I don't know why Proactiv suddenly stopped working, but after three months the monthly bumps started coming back. The cleansing system also dried out my skin. Even when it was working, I was left with skin that was clear but extremely dried out despite my attempts to moisturize. Overall, I would say that Proactiv is a waste of money. It is entirely too expensive and if you are looking for a longterm sure, this IS NOT it.

Pros:

NOTHING...cheap maybe.

Cons:

made acne worse
dried/irriated skin

Just don't do it. I switched to eXposed about a month or two ago (which is why I was on this site in the first place...to write a review for that.) eXposed is just soo much better. It actually CLEARED my acne, but if you have dry skin (which you will after proactiv) the Moisture Complex is a must, so don't be cheap about it. I will never again waste money on proactiv.

Pros:

Minimizes acne

Cons:

Makes skin dry
Stings so horribly
Does not clear up acne completely
Stops working after a few weeks

I used this for a couple of months and this is total crap. It did minimize my acne, but it never cleared out those small acne dots. The toner (Step 2) made my skin sooo dry and it stung me like a bee.

Pros:

• Non-offensive aroma
• Somewhat effective
• Inexpensive

Cons:

• Drying
• Not 100% effective
• They send out a lot of annoying emails and direct mailers

I used Proactiv a few years ago for a few months and then again recently for a few months (I was coaxed into giving it a second try because of the reformulation). Both times the product was mildly effective, clearing up small blemishes. It seemed to have little to no effect on my larger, cyst-like blemishes and did not help much during my hormonal peaks each month. My skin would also get very flaky, even while using the moisturizer that came in the package. The bottom line is that I would not recommend this product to anyone over the age of 25, experiencing moderate to severe acne, it's far too drying and I believe that because of that it is more likely to damage the skin rather than heal it.
