Be realistic!
I feel like anyone who has had bad experiences with Proactiv simply isn't using it right. Proactiv isn't a product you can buy once, use until the bottle is empty and then expect clear skin forever. You need to give it time to work. The first time I bought Proactiv the sales consultant explained to me that I'd be lucky to experience any significant changes in my skin within the first month. And that's simply because Proactiv isn't magic, and it isn't going to transform your skin overnight. Read the pamphlet, do what it says and you'll have clearer skin by the end of your first 3 months. I've been using it for about a year now and it has completely transformed my skin. I still get minor breakouts every now and then, but now I've got the products to control it.

Pros:

Fast shipment
Step by step instructions on how to use
Left my face feeling soft
Bonus extras!

Cons:

Stopped working after a few months
Product became more expensive overtime

I have seen some improvements within the first few months. It left my face feeling soft and smooth. However, it has been almost seven months and the product eventually seemed to stop working. I haven't noticed any improvement within the past three months

Pros:

NONE ----- Buyer BEWARE

Cons:

Incompetent customer service and "supervisors", does not stand behind their return policy, products suck, only thing it will lessen is your wallet

Do not waste your time, money, or patience on this company or their products. Be PROACTIVE and run - not walk away - from these products. I am in my early 30's and have very light "acne". I would break out once in a while each month but really wanted Katy Perry or Julianne Hough skin. So, I figured I would try Proactive. I might as well have taken my money, crumpled it into little balls and flushed it down my toilet. First of all, the products are worthless. I could get better results from a $3.00 bar of Cetaphil and $1.00 container of witch hazel. The cleanser was non-effective at best. The toner was worse than water alone. The "oil free" moisterizer was greasy and made my forehead look like an oil slick in the Gulf. The repairing treatment ruined my new sheets...blah blah blah...same thing everyone else says. Secondly, their customer service reps do not provide any service to their customers! I ordered the trial and then after two more payments of $29.95 I became aware that I was suppose to have received my products. Three days later I received my first and last notice from the post office saying that proactive had sent me a package, that it was forwarded from my previous address, but that I did not catch it in time and it was being returned to sender. OK...didn't really care about the package, just wanted my money back from the previous dings to my debit card. I called customer service and was made aware that as soon as they received the package back they would refund my money. That was 2 months ago. First they tried to say that I was "past the return limit of 60 days"...then they saw that I called them within the 60 days to report the package not received. Now they refuse to acknowledge that they ever received the package back and that I should have insured the package. And, to add insult to injury, they say that I OWE THEM the last payment of $29.95 - for products that I never received. RUN and don't look back!!!

Pros:

None.

Cons:

Terrible product smell, overpriced, poor customer service, and if you didn't like the product and you forgot to cancel your Proactiv account they will still send you another $88 kit in 2 months since your first purchase

Proactiv is not worth your money and all the hassle with product return

Pros:

You might think your acne will go away finally, just like it did for Vanessa Williams, Jessica Simpson, Katy Perry, or whoever it is they're paying the big $$$ at the moment to endorse their product...maybe..

Cons:

...You realize soon enough it's not going away- you do not have magical celebrity luck that Jennifer Love Hewitt possesses(or whoever is on their payroll at this time).. & especially not if you have cystic acne.

I think this product may work for some people, particularly those who have inflamed acne that is not too severe aka "the pizza face"- red inflamed zits all over the face, and especially for those who maybe going through a *temporary* hormonal phase. I have known people who have sworn by this product and they fit the acne profile that I just described. I on the other hand, had big cysts, and I had both inflamed & non-inflamed acne, and it was a chronic problem, so this product didn't even make a dent for me. I imagine over time this product (like most acne products) will lose its potency for those with more severe, persistent acne. One size does not fit all. Sans shipping fee, I did a full refund.

Pros:

Can't think of any

Cons:

Dries out skin, causes more break outs than I had and caused boils, very attractive!
After using it for a few days my skin is so dry and unhealthy.

This product is made for people with severe ache who have oily skin. I would not recommended it either. Watch out for special promo offer, they already have more coming to you before you can use what you have. See a dermatologist.

Pros:

none

Cons:

This company is a rip off and I have reported them to the better business bureau. They are thieves.

I only bought 1 kit for my daughter to try out. I did not ask for anymore to be sent. I purchased it a few days before Christmas of 2009. It is now March 1, 2010. My original payment was $19.95. They have now taken an additional $67.71 for 3 more kits (of which I have only received 1)that I did not order and another one that is on the way. I spoke with a representative from Proactive,he said he could stop the last shipment from going out but could not stop the automatic withdrawal on March 18th even though it is only March 1st today. It bounced 2 checks at my bank which cost me an additional $62.00. I don't know if they think she needs to bathe in it or what, but she has only used half of the first kit before it irritated her skin so bad that she had to stop using it. Do not ever purchase any of this product or any other product they offer. They said as soon as I send back all the extra product they sent to me at my expense they they will give me back my money in 4-6 weeks and they won't cover the checks they bounced on me. I have to go to my bank and close my checking account and open a new one in order to make sure they don't continue to withdraw money from my account. I will never do business with this company ever again.
