Pros:

Dried up my huge cystic 'take forever to surface' pimples, keeps me from having to constantly wash my face, one application lasts all day

Cons:

The color in it is streaky

I'm not used to having acne, I was lucky enough to grow up with perfect skin until about two years ago when I turned 21. Now I get blackheads, whiteheads and HUGE cystic pimples that will hang around for months under the skin-deep in my tissue and hurt. I was about to give up and shell out $$ for a dermatologist and saw that this had sulfur in it-the last OTC thing I had not tried. I smeared some on and two hours later my biggest most painful cyst was already half the size it was before. Im hoping I continue to see results *knocks on wood*

Pros:

I started using Acnomel 40 years ago when it was in a compac-type container and available everywhere in the USA. It is the very best acne product ever made.. I don't have acne now, but facial shingles - it is keeping control of the blisters!!

Cons:

Availability of product in USA, and I preferred the old formula that was in the compac container, but have understood that there was an ingredient that the FDA prohibited which has since been removed... A lighter shade would be less obvious for day.

Acnomel is the best - I used it consistently for years, until one of my children insisted I dispose of the compac because I'd had that one for 20+ years and she was concerned about contamination (not a sensible argument, but I relented) Then several years ago, my skin started breaking out again (not great at 50-years of age), we were in Nelson on vacation, I found Acnomel in a tube in the drug store and my skin problems were resolve before I returned home. When I broke out with shingles on my neck and face last year, after using assorted RX creams, I got out the old tube of Acnomel and "Voila" the blisters dried up immediately. I still get a few blisters in moments of stress, use acnomel at night (and during the day if not going out) and the shingles blisters are under control. I'm in my 60's and I'm thankful the product is available.

Pros:

This works much better for me than what everyone else is saying. Overnight, or two nights, it clears acne up, which nothing else I've used can do. About the scent of it: I like the way it smells! It's like getting a clay facial.

Cons:

It can dry skin out, but it's a topical thing, not meant to be smeared over your whole face. Some moisturizer might help, or skip it for a night.

The best acne medication I have found.

Pros:

I have pretty much tried everything and I can say that after putting this on a blemish for a couple of days, it does go away. What I normally do is use an antibacterial cleanser and put the Acnomel on at night.

Cons:

It does dry out the skin surrounding the blemish and once you apply it the product does turn into a cake like substance.

I heard that Romans used sulfur for acne problems and out of BP and SA, this works 10x better!

Pros:

Worked asap on my chin acne. Get a few red nasty looking pimples that occasionally turn into something horrific. Acnomel cleared them dowm to barely noticeable in one night. I CANNOT believe I've wasted money on salycitic acid and benzoil peroxide

Cons:

It dries to a paste and the color is for caucasians and I'm black. Who cares

The best thing since sliced bread.

Pros:

It works great, pimples are gone within a week or two, one quick easy step, size of tube is good for travel, much cheaper than stupid ineffective treatments with 3+ steps that take forever to use. Doesn't irritate my skin. Tube lasts a couple months.

Cons:

I guess the only con is the smell, but it isn't very strong and it doesn't last long, Neither me or my boyfriend really notice it.

I've tried those $20 3+ step acne kits from Clearasil and Clean & Clear. One of them worked okay, and only worked noticeably well if I used it three times a day instead of two. Between the price and time consumption, it wasn't worth it to me. I have somewhat oily skin and had pretty bad acne ever since my younger teens (I am 20 now). My mom found this tube of Adult Acnomel at a salvage grocery store (so she probably got it way cheaper than the price I entered below). She had never really seen acne treatments with the same ingredients, so she thought it might work and gave it to me. And it does! The only time I have ever seen my face this clear is when I lived in Canada for a year and the dry air dried out my skin. Every morning I wash my face with a bar of Irish Spring soap, rub on the Adult Acnomel, and then repeat before bed. That's it. If Adult Acnomel hasn't worked for you, I recommend washing your face with the Irish Spring bar first like I do (or just about any bar

Pros:

It works quickly and does not stain fabric like benzoyl peroxide does and works MUCH better!

Cons:

Can be drying and is hard to find

I have been on everything for acne, even Accutane.. (which did work, but is not safe and when you go off of it, your skin tends to go back to its old ways) This is the only affordable and safe option and I have tried everything and anything.. This is great for people whose skin does not respond well to salicylic acid and/or benzoyl peroxide creams... It does not necessarily prevent breakouts, but does treat them quickly!

Pros:

It is great and cheap.

Cons:

None--just lucky to have found it.

I am 45 and had adult acne and rosacea for about 10 years--I have tried everything--all the expensive MD stuff. I found this by accident--and it is the best thing I've ever used. My 19 year old uses it for her (pretty bad) acne and also loves it. Plus its cheap!!!!!!!!!!!
