Pros:

*Calmed my skin
*Acne scars are diminishing
*Fewer and fewer breakouts

Cons:

*Smell of the acne gel is a little harsh but the lotion balances that out
*Expensive

So far I have been using this product for a week and my skin has never felt better. I tried everything from Proactive to antibiotics to diet and natural remedies and they either made my skin worse or didn't do anything. This was my last resort before trying a microdermabrasion and I don't think I will have to be doing that anymore! My face was filled with small little pimples everywhere mainly cheeks and forehead and cystic acne also that hurt. Right now I have none of that on my skin and it feels great! I will continue to use this product and hope for the best!

Pros:

Reduces inflamation of pimples the very next day
Makes skin feel smoother

Cons:

Slightly expensive

If you've tried Proactiv and it didn't work for you, I would definitely suggest giving Murad a try. I used Proactiv consistently for about a year, and saw absolutely no improvement. (In fact, I think Proactiv actually worsened my skin. Benzoyl Peroxide is an extremely strong ingredient and can actually aggravate the skin, causing you to get more breakouts). I then switched to Murad and saw a dramatic improvement in about 3 days! The exfoliating gel combined with the spot treatment really helps to reduce the inflamation of pimples and they are much smaller the next day. I think that each persons skin is different, so while some peoples skin may respond to Proactiv, the salicylic acid in Murad may be more suitable for others.

Pros:

It works!

Cons:

Still get the random break out every once in a while, price.

For the first month, I was pissed off that the murad product had made my skin break out even more. BUT... i continued to use it for a bit over a month, just to follow through with my $50.00 investment, and, after my skin recovered from the initial beating, I was clear for weeks and weeks. I looked into this, and it seems whenever a new product is used on the skin, your face goes through a purging of all the hidden dirt in the pores. now, my face is SO much clearer than it was. This stuff isn't perfect, like most things in this world, and i do get the occasional break out of a MINOR few pimples around once a month (which I sure is due to hormones). Sucks being a teen, but this def softens the degradation acne has on self confidence.

Pros:

Didnt dry up my face if used correctly. Cleared up my minor acne fairly quickly.

Cons:

Worked great for months and months and then slowly skin built up a tolerance and it stopped working.

I suggest getting it if you have mild or minor acne. I had the occasional deep down zit before i started using this and then i stopped getting those painful ones altogether. Unfortunately, your skin builds up a tolerance and it stops working.

Pros:

Packaging & time of Delivery, lessens the swelling & dryness

Cons:

Purging Period & Cost

Long story short, I suffered from chronic cystic acne on my cheeks & jawline & was deperate for a solution. As they always say, "this may not work for everyone" but there is no harm in trying cause at the worst point of my breakouts, I had nothing to lose but seek for other options. When I got my first kit, I followed the directions & I honestly did break out a little more during the first 2 weeks. But those blemishes were smaller & dried up within 2-3 days. One thing I've learned is that only use the Salicylic acid gel(step 2) on the affected areas & in VERY small amounts cause the face wash already contains 1.5 Sal/acid. Same with the sulfur spot treatment. Literally just use a dot right over the pimple & not around it. The moisturizer balances it all. Use lots of it, especially at night so that your skin can rest & heal itself. If you must use any make up, I suggest BARE MINERALS & just take it off with regular baby oil. My face is finally clearing up. BE PATIENT & Goodluck!

Pros:

I began using Murad's acne kit a week ago along with the body spray. It is great...I have been fighting acne for many many years and although I have never tried the regimen described in this site, I have been to many dermatologists.. this worked.

Cons:

None than I can think of..the spot treatment is excellent. One little dab on a new pimple and it is gone! Don't use a lot of it. Just a bit will literrally erase it the next day. I am impressed!

I cannot believe the difference one week has made. It is expensive but it works.

Pros:

It moisturized my face and helped with oily skin during the day. It also smells GREAT!

Cons:

It dried my face out at first, caused me to break out pretty back and made my skin kinda itchy.

In the begining I was worried I was having a bad reaction to it and that it was just making everything worse, but after the first few weeks it made my skin look wonderful. It takes a little while to see the results but it is totally worth it. My advice, finish at least a four-five week trial period and then see what your skin looks like. I am still using it and my skin continues to improve everyday... hope this helps. :)

Pros:

cleared up my skin quickly without drying it out

Cons:

a little bit expensive

I actually really love this product. After trying to use Proactiv for months, and watching my face get worse, I got up the nerve to quit and switch to Murad. My skin cleared up almost immediately and is super hydrated. I am so relieved to find a product that actually works and makes my skin feel great. No more piles of foundation =)
