Pros:

None

Cons:

Made face feel even more oily. Caused my skin to brake out worst, with tiny little blisters!

I have very oily and dry skin, is a combination and I was told this would clear my skin in two weeks, but the first two weeks it would brake out even more "supposiably" getting all ur pores cleaned out.... Well it never cleared my skin it caused me to have little bitty blisters pop up everywhere underneath my nose and my chin... It's awful!!!!! Taking it back and getting a full refund!!!

Pros:

Face felt fresh after using it.

Cons:

"purging"

I used it for about a month and a half, once a day as it really dried my face. I gave it a chance to work but the "purging" process didn't seem to stop until I just decided to stop using the entire line for acne prone skin. I got more pimples from using it (like it multipled 5x) with some scars. It's horrrible. I haven't reviewed things I bought before but this one I felt I had to. Definitely not worth the effort and money.

Pros:

Skin is soft

Cons:

Never had totally clear skin

I have been using for over a year. Worked good at first. Now the acne and the dark spots have returned even though I am still using the products and taking the murad supplements. I am cancelling auto shipments.

Pros:

Clears skin. Cooling. Preventative. Chemical exfoliation. Hydrating.

Cons:

None.

This is a perfect blend of chemical exfoliation from the salicylic acid (BHA) and citrus oils. Anti-inflammatory properties from the lavender oil, black cohosh and castor oil. The castor oil and apricot kernel oil help balance oil production, lightly hydrate. Plant oils are similar to skin oils which allow for the ingredients to penetrate past the acid mantle (natural oil barrier on the skin) and keep the skin hydrated since salicylic acid is meant to remove excess oil and help loosen blackheads. The oils it contains are not synthetic so it does not cause sensitivity or clog the pores. The menthol causes a cooling effect that gives skin a tingly clean feeling without overly stripping the skin. A moisturizer and SPF is a must due to the chemical exfoliation and to not let it all go to waste. I have never had more amazing skin. I use this in the A.M. because my makeup goes on smooth and since my oil is regulated my makeup wears longer even without primer. I have combination skin so I think using it in the morning is enough. I use something more neutral in the evening with makeup removing properties. Not for dry skin as the salicylic may further dry out your skin. Try something gentler like lactic, malic or glycolic acid. IT IS AMAZING. I am just a skincare fanatic and I give this 5 stars. ****THIS WAS TO RESPOND TO THE LAST PERSON WHO HAS NO CLUE ABOUT INGREDIENTS. If it doesn't work, its because your treating the issue while ignoring your skin type. You may need something more aggressive or gentler with time released ingredients. Be nice to your biggest organ. Hope you find something that works. :)

Pros:

The only good part of this regimen is the Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel...WHICH by I would just buy separately if you want to use something from Murad. The treatment gel has good ingredients, (glycolic acid, witch hazel, retinol) and can be beneficial just by itself. Don't buy the whole kit.

Cons:

Sticky residue
No improvement in skin clarity

So many things wrong & I blame the clenser. This cleanser has so much OIL in it, I can't understand how people with sever acne have had success: hydrogenated castor oil (I have seen this very ingredient in hair products!) Tangarine leaf oil, Citronella oil, lemon peel oil, Lime Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Mandarin Orange Peel Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil. So this is straight from the ingredient list...8 different oils in the cleanser in this regimen. Do your research and read the ingredient lists before you give in to those TV commercials where a smiling perfect-skinned teenager tells you they had a miracle with this kit!!!

Pros:

The face wash felt refreshing.

Cons:

-skin was red (especially the acne)
-my acne would hurt/throb constantly
-made my skin more oily

Skin type-oily Acne-Moderate Type of acne-a little of all (white, blk heads, cystic, papules, pustules. I used Pro Active for about 8yrs, it used to work quite well but for some reason it recently stopped working so I decided to try Murad Acne Complex. Now that I'm 31 I figured my skin has changed due to age and had read that Murad would be ideal for my age group, so I ordered it. I allowed 3 days for my face to rest from the switch from pro active to Murad since pro active has benzoyl peroxide and Murad has salicylic acid and retinol I didn't want my face to get irritated and break out more.. Per Murad pamphlet that arrived w/kit, it stated that your face purges for the first 2wks, well mine continuously purged for the full 4wks, not only that it completely made my face so much more oily than it already was prior to using Murad Acne complex. My face is full of dark, bright red scars and existing acne from the Murad acne complex, I am very disappointed in this product.. I am now using Aveeno oil free clear complex face was and Aveeno oil free calming moisturizer-my face is so much less read and irritated.. If your face is sensitive-DO NOT try Murad Acne Complex-I believe it was all of the harsh chemicals in the this product that made my acne so much worse.

Pros:

Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, minimizes breakouts, mask leaves skin with a healthy glow, slightly reduces redness.

Cons:

It can be confusing at first to determine which Murad products and combinations are right for your skin type because there are so many. Murad spot treatment sucks, go with a BP product like Zapzyt and incorporate it into a Murad regimen.

Murad works. I believe that many people have not used it properly or haven't used the right combination for their skin and this is why it isn't working. It can be difficult to know which cleanser to use, when and how often to use an AHA/BHA cleanser, when to switch to a different type of moisturizer based on the humidity, etc. I think some people are not willing to devote the time and thought to their skin. If this is ruining your skin then chances are you are using way too much. It takes LESS THAN A PEA SIZED AMOUNT of cleanser. People are complaning it is expensive. Well, if one starts off with a full amount of each product they need, use it sparesely (which is all you need), and replace individual products as they run out that will offset the cost. I had mild cystic acne before Murad and now I hardly ever get cystic acne. Occasionally I do get a breakout (esp when not sleeping enough, diet changes, stress). I also use the Murad vitamin. I choose from three different Murad cleansers and recently even switched to a different moisturizer from Murad for acne prone/oily skin. If you treat your skin like the basic Murad starter kit will cure all skin types then your results may be minimal. It isn't as easy as the commercial makes it seem, but it is obtainable. I also use a PRN antibiotic called Clindamycin. Remember, when using antibiotic use it for a minimum of 10 days then discontinue if you don't need it. Even if your skin is clear, use it for at least TEN days or you will develop an immunity to the antibiotic. If you know what works best for your skin consider buying it online through various retailers. You can find it cheaper than Sephora or even the Murad website.

Dry Skin
Very rough skin

Do not get this product if you have light pimples. I had reaaaally mild acne to begin with. but after using Murad, within 2 weeks i have strange red bumps growing at places where ive never had pimples growing before. Now it has left me with really bad hyperpigmention to clear off. To see how I looked like while using murad, you can visit my website. Ive uploaded pictures of the damage Murad has done.
