I've never had horrendous skin, but have been suffering with continuous spots for as long as I can remember. I came off the pill recently and suffered an awful breakout - my skin was the worst it had ever been. I would say they were mostly whiteheads but I also got small bumps which don't go away unless you squeeze them' no idea what they are?! This went on for about three months, with new spots constantly forming all over my face. The doctor has now put me on dianette but it is far too early to see the benefits of that. So I decided to start using quinoderm again- I used to use it when I was younger. I'm using 10% three times a day as I am on summer holidays. I started using it under a week ago and noticed a difference the next morning. It is now six days later and my skin is the clearest it has been in three months. It's still not what is used to be before the breakout but it's getting there, fast. I think because I've used it before, my skin has not started flaking off (which it used to!!), but I can see it is starting to get very dry around my chin and it stings a little after applying. But this is nothing compared to having spots all over my face. In the time of using it, I have only had one new spot which has gone down very quickly. It not only clears spots but makes them heal and disappear quicker. I never normally write reviews, but after obsessively reading them this summer after feeling so down about my face, I really wanted to help others. No one deserves the awful feeling of having bad skin and if this persuades one person to buy it and stop their problem I will be very happy!

Pros:

worked brilliantly at first, 5% cream twice a day and for 6 months my skin was the clearest it has ben since i was 12 (im 20 now). also cheap and easy to get.

Cons:

skin must have got used to it i suppose, had a few breakouts recently and nothings changed, so iv started using quinoderm in the morning and ibprofen gel at night, its bin a month and things are getin better so we shall see!

worked when nothing else did. definately give it a try though use 5% cream if your using it for the first time.

Pros:

very very effective
cheap
widely available

Cons:

sometimes does sting a little

about 4 days ago i got this horrible cluster of spots they were big, red, painful and very ugly. i had previously used quinoderm but stopped when all my spots had gone, i decided to use it again and it had worked wonders, usually the kind of spots take 8-10 days to clear but with quindoderm it to 4 DAYS! i do not regret in anyway buying this, people say it dries out your skin but i always moisturise so i never notice any dry skin, i did notice that on big red spots when you put the quinderm on them they do inflame and get irritated but thats expected for acne spots. Overall this is the best skin product i've ever used and its great for everyone, if you have sensitive skin its best that you use the 5% one, quinoderm is the BEST

Pros:

Well its cheap and otc which is 2 pros

Cons:

leaves skin dry but unless u dry up the skin u will never clear the acne

I have used almost everything over the years and nothing seems to touch it..i was using freederm before and it really makes your skin red. Moring and night i use Clearsil Ultra..not the face scrub and Quinoderm. I must say i have suffered acne now for 21 years and my new comibination i have seen a really amazing differance..give it a go..nothing to lose..the differnce is better than when i have isolaze last year at skin UK..That cost me 800 GBP but for under a tenner total the differnce is better.

Pros:

Cleared spots in 4 nights
Doesn't sting as much as other creams
No new spots
Also cleared blackheads

Cons:

Stings a tiny bit
Can be slightly drying

I have used creams such as epiduo from the doctor on my moderate acne and found a lot of them worsened my spite and gave me cysts but this is amazing! My skin is virtually clear apart from one on my cheek which is tiny and should be gone tomorrow. I couldn't be happier with the results, I wasn't expecting to see any difference really and was hesitant to use it after my previous experience with acne creams but this stuff is amazing. I only use a very small amount about twice a day after washing my face

Cleared my acne within 5 days
Doesn't sting or irritate my skin

Cons:

Quite drying

I've been suffering from moderate acne since my mid teens. Around 2 years ago, I went to my GP as it was getting worse and it was really started to effect my confidence. I had a lot of spots and bumps on my forehead and cheeks area as well as my chin. Picking and squeezing them didn't help much either, leaving so many scars behind. She prescribed me Duac Once Daily Gel with 10% benzoyl peroxide which was amazing. I was applying the gel at night and every morning I'd see an improvement. A week later, all of my spots were literally gone as well as the scars and marks! I was really impressed. The only problem was that the gel would expire after 2 months and it was advised that you put it in the refrigerator. Anyway, about a month ago my acne has returned. Usually I'd get the occasion spot when its that that time of the month, but this time there were so many and looking angrier than ever. I've been using Quinoderm 10% BP cream and I'm ecstatic at the results. I've only been using it for 5 days and already, 85% of my spots have cleared up! What's even more amazing is how dirt cheap it is..I purchased it for like that £3. I use a small amount only at the areas which need it and I only apply the cream at night. I'm so happy and I'll continue using it till they've it's all clear.

Pros:

Clears spots and acne very affordable.

Cons:

None to me

My skin is very sensitive so i use the cream thrice a weak to minimize the side effects. just wash face with facial wash for sensitive skin (johnsons) and apply at night and with a good moisturizer i am sorted. i have really tried lots of treatments but with this one...i am totally sorted out.

it works

I was spot free until I came off the pill and my skin flared up really badly - really large painful spots all clustered together on my cheeks. I had been using Freederm previous to this, which was fine for the small occasional spot that I got when I was on the pill, but had no effect on this new cystic acne. I got some 10% Quinoderm and used it twice a day - a thin layer in the monrning underneath my makeup and a thin layer at night before bed. Within a week most of my spots had completely gone, I only had 3 very small ones on one cheek left. The only reason I stopped using it was because my skin began to feel very tight and dry, it wasn't flaking but just felt uncomfortable. However, by that point my skin was like 95% better anyway so I stopped using it,and began to mositurise and now it's fine. My face is fine now but I have just begun to get spots on my neck and back so will be using it on those areas. I'd definitely recommend it but use it sparingly and moisturise as well.

Pros:

Does the job nicely
Can see results the next day

Cons:

Leaves the skin dry
Stings a little after applying
Leaves redness after about two days of using

Gets rid of spots right away but I guess I need to keep using it fot about another week or two. Leaves the skin dry so I think its best to apply at night, go to bed and when you wake up put some oil free moisturizer. As others said apply to all the affected area (I just put it on my whole face cause I have spots on my chin, cheeks but close to the nose and nose aswell and my forehead.) I would recommend this to anyone having tried everything cause I find that those fancy ones don't work like Clean'n'Clear. Wash your face before applying but DON'T use soap. I found it only worsens spots as it has oils in it. I just splash some water on my whole face. One last thing: when you see some whiteheads DON'T pop them as it will leave a mark for about 2-3 days.
