Pros:

- Cheap!
- I find it works better than Benzoyl Peroxide
- Disinfects hair follice
- Enables blemishes to come to a head and thus be extracted easily
- Kills zits fast

Cons:

- Hurts a bit if applied to an open lesion

I decided to try this after reading some positive reviews about it. Benzoyl Peroxide had begun giving me large painful papules and I needed a substitute. Home remedies recommeneded on this site have worked in the past so I thought why not. It penetrates the pore much more effectively than BP, and with far less irritation flaking of the skin afterwards. I dip a q-tip in the bottle and apply to any red spots. Good stuff and great value for money. I will keep using it.

Pros:

Clears acne
Disinfects any popped spots
lightens acne marks and red marks

Cons:

Will bleach eyebrows

Ok- bottom line this works. Yes, it can be considered harsh, but not any where near as harsh as BP in my opinion. This does not make my skin flaky or dry, and it dries out my spots in no time. If I hold this on a spot that is just starting, it makes it go away. It also lightens acne marks over time, and helps even out skin tone. It can be a little stingy, if you have an open acne or sore, but it does help. I always use either Thayer's witch hazel with lavender, or Dan's AHA+ after using this, and my acne is clearing quickly.

Pros:

Cheap, not time consuming,

Cons:

Bleaches eyebrows in it comes in contact.

I only have acne on my forehead, and I'm horrible at picking at my skin, so if I do pick too much, and dig in my skin too much, the peroxide heals it up really quickly. It's super cheap (about 99c for a big bottle which last a long time) I put it on my forehead but I have to be REALLY careful that none of it drips onto my eyebrows because it did bleach them yellow and I looked like I barely had any eyebrows. Most acne products (homemade or store bought) help really well for the first week and then stop helping and my acne gets worse, but Hydrogen Peroxide is reliable and helps every time!

Pros:

Clear acne
Cheap
Shrinks pimples
Easy to apply

Cons:

A little dryness

I can not believe I waited so long and spent lots of money on other treatments. This is under a dollar, compared to many kits that cost more than 20 dollars. Easy to apply. Just used a cotton ball and spread over entire face. Wait to dry. Apply any oil-free lotion. Of course, wash with any face cleanser you prefer prior to applying H.P. I have suffered from acne long enough and I can't believe I have seen results within the first day of using it!

Pros:

Really clears deep cysts and acne fast. Cleans skin really well.

Cons:

Can be a bit drying, but for my skin and acne, it's the perfect thing.

I have tried it all. I am in my 40's and have had moderate to severe acne since I was 13 with never a break. I have been to dozens of dermatologists, used proactive and all the over the counter products. Lately I was on prescribed clindomycin, but it really upset my stomach and after a few years on it, my skin adapted to it and it no longer worked. It never worked all that well either. I had constant breakouts anyway. I found this forum and an esthitician that recommended mendalic acid toner. I wash my face with a 3% benzol peroxide cleanser, the kind with the beads in it. Tone with the hydorgen peroxide. I only leave the hydrogen peroxide on until it dries, about 5 minutes, and then I wash it off. I then put on a second toner of mendalic acide and then my oil-free suncreen. For the first time in years my skin looks clean and fresh. The hydrogen peroxide did wonders, but if your skin is senstive I would recommend either only leaving it on a minute or two and then washing off until your skin becomes used to it, or, dilute it with water. I am using the regular 3% hydrogen peroxide in the store, that is plenty strong enough. Food grade will tear your skin off. If I a get a cyst going as I did last week, just soak a cotton pad with the HP and hold firmly againt the cyst for a minute or two, then use all over as a toner. Great stuff because unlike clindomycin which is an antibotic, this is just putting oxygen into the pore and killing the bacteria, something that your skin will never become used to.

Pros:

works fast, by next day you will see results.
cheap too

Cons:

could be a little drying if used too often.

I have tried almost everything to clear up my acne and those stubborn under the ground chin cysts. I leave in Georgia, so the daily humidity really causes me to break out. Roughly 5 months ago I decided to take a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and use it as a toner before going to bed. The next day I could see that my redness had gone down and my white heads had disappeared. Within a couple days all of my acne has vanished. Even when I can feel a cyst forming on my chin, the peroxide clears it up within less than a week. When I wake up in the morning I use cetaphil facial moisturizer with a couple drops jojoba oil mixed together to provide me with clear, smooth and flawless skin that I haven't had in 4yrs!

Pros:

clears acne
cheap

Cons:

itchiness
stings a bit

Try it. I've been suffering with back acne for as long as I can remember. I've tried EVERYTHING. You have to believe me on this one. I would always wear shirts that would cover up the acne and nothing else. I was so close to buying an expensive acne solution for my last resort, until one day my mom bought me some hydrogren peroxide, and told me they used it as a pimple fighter back ''in her day''. So I gave it a shot, and waited for about 3-4 weeks for it to kick in. I just couldn't believe it!! Out of ALL things, this cheap bottle of hydrogen peroxide cleared up my stupid acne. I wish i knew about this YEARS ago!! The other day, I went out for the first time in a spaghetti strap shirt, with a CLEAR back. Still conscience because there were two pimples there, and you know how it feels when you've been living with acne all your life... you're self esteem and confidence is a little low and youre paranoid about pimples altogether. haha It feels great to have clear skin, I highly suggest it for anyone whos tried EVERYTHING. And remember, if you do use it, give it a few weeks and be patient, and have confidence that it WILL work!

Pros:

Great for eliminating cysts easily.

Hydrogent Peroxide is best used for treating and eliminating cysts. Step 1. Clean one your fingertips and dip it into a hydrogen peroxide solution and soak it for like 10 seconds. 2. Quicly move the back end of your fingertip to press the cyst. Hold and press on the cyst for 10 seconds. Continue to dab hydrogen peroxide on the cyst and pressing down on the cyst with your soaked fingertip for up to 30 seconds. 3 Wait for it to dry naturally and return in about a hour. Squeeze the cyst and all the gunk will easily and naturally come out. This a great way to naturally and easily treat your cyst. Afterwards, the redness will subside and just leave a small red dot where the gunk came out.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

DON'T Use Hydrogen Peroxide: Who doesn't love those little bubbles that froth up over a cut when it's swabbed with hydrogen peroxide? The bad news is that while the solution cleans, it also destroys new skin cells that immediately begin to grow when you hurt yourself. This slows down the healing process and gives scars a greater chance of forming.

DONT USE!unless you want horrible scars

Pros:

Cheap, quick to put on

Cons:

Drying, didn't do anything for this under the skin painful third eye I had going just after christmas last year.

I had this awful, painful, impossible to squeeze, cyst-thing, under the skin pimple right in between my eyes for a week, from xmas day right up until just after new years.. It just wouldn't go, i tried using this to dry it out but it just made things worse, so I stopped and just hid under a beanie. Not sure what would have happened if i stuck to it but it didn't feel nice on my skin so I stopped. It does, however, work at gradually bleaching arm-hairs if any fellow mediteranean women are reading =D
