Best treatment for shallow boxcars and rolling scars?

Recommended Posts

I just had my first session of subcision+filler. I still have swelling so it's hard to say how the result looks like but I doubt it did much to shallow boxcars and rolling scars on my templs area(it might have helped a lot on my tethered scar on the chin though)

Initially I was considering getting infini rf for rest of the scars but I read some review that rf needling doesn't help much with boxcars

Depth of my scars are shallow but I have many of them on both side of temple

Good old laser treatments or tca cross or any other options? My derm told me that since i donr have deep icepick scars so i wouldn't benefit much from tca cross

He recommended me fully ablative laser treatment such as mixto

I had subcision for my boxcar scars and didn't see improvement.

Same thing with Infini. The doctor did the RF microneedling with me said my skin looked better but he didn't take pictures and he probably just wanted more $$$. However, that doesn't mean Infini doesn't work. In theory, it does and some doctors say this is better than lasers. I'm just giving you my perspective.

Are you sure you want to go through recovery from a fully ablative laser treatment? You need to be prepared.

I think I'm willing to go through recovery from fully ablative laser maybe in winter when I can totally keep a low profile but definitely not now. That's why I'd like to try rf microneedling first.

Based on what I read, fully ablative laser is currently the best treatment for shallow boxcars but I'm also scared of side effects. I'm ok with going through many treatments over years but I want procedures with possibly less side effects  :(
