Hello. I started using differin about 3 weeks ago. Since then my acne has gotten considerably worse. I have Whitehead™s everywhere and I gained a ridiculous amount of acne on my jawline/neck. I know that differin has an initial breakout period but this seems a little extreme? Wanted to know if anyone else experienced this. I had similar lesions when I started the treatment. Tried Adapalene (differin) for two months but unfortunately it wasn't enough, so I had to move to Isotretinoin. Now that I am done with the isotretinoin course I am back to adapalene for maintenance. Just like you, I got worse after the first weeks. You should continue with the treatment until the next derm appointment (maybe you will end up on isotretinoin too).

I would say it got like 1%better. But im breaking out worse on my forehead now. Not sure if I should continue differing. Seems a little extreme for an initial breakout.

Are you applying it every night? I took nearly the entire 3 months to gradually work up to every night in order to avoid side effects like an overwhelming purge.
Are you using any kind of BP cleanser? I added that into my routine to help.
Are you using any other AHA/BHA products like salicylic acid? If you are, stop. I've heard that it can either exacerbate side effects and/or reduce effectiveness.
It definitely took the full three months to start seeing clear skin.
