Hello,

I am 32, I had a really rough time with acne as a teen and in my early 20's. Now I am a bit older and while I do not get acne very often I do have a considerable amount of acne scars. I would like to get treatment done but there is a lot of information out there, it is hard to filter out what is good. I was hoping someone with acne scar treatment experience could help me, maybe suggest something that could help.

As for daily treatment, currently I wash my face 2 or 3 times a day with Aveeno clear complexion foaming cleanser (salicylic acid) "helps prevent breakouts, for clear, even-looking skin. I apply Aveeno Smart essentials daily nourishing moisturizer with sunscreen Broad spectrum SPF 30 in the morning before work.

I have done needling in the past, I do not think it helped me, it may have actually given me scars. I often try to apply facial masques but I feel my skin is a bit too damaged for these to make much of a difference.

I would really appreciate any advice. I just got back to the USA after studying abroad. I will go to a dermatologist in the near future, but I am a bit worried they won't be able to help me.

Thank you for the help! I will try the chemical peels first and see how that goes. Do you have any advice for what kind of moisturizer is good? I use the one pasted below. I think i may have clogged pores, I have no idea how I can help to get rid of those. Thank you so much!

I myself just use a pure HA serum, I cannot use fatty acids or esters. Some have good success with the cerave products found at walgreens / cvs / walmart.
