I agree with the above. Just start with a loe percentage first before jumping straight in. I did 2 x 12% peels with no results just a little flaking but it did help to prep my skin. I was going to try the 18% but jumped straight in to 24% and i could tell the difference between that and the 12%. I have sensitive skin and the 24% stung like hell. So depending on your skin type just be careful. I can't comment on results as i have only done a few spot areas. Im doing a full face one when i get back off holiday.

where is the best place to get what I need and what is it I need
can I do one area at a time as I know I wouldn't step outside my front door with my full face done!!!
Most people including me use a website called make up artists choice they have all the tca peel strenght kits on there. Personaly i would start with 12% and just test spot a small area first just to ensure your skin tolerates it. After your test spot you could probably get away with doing your whole face as it honestly doesnt do much apart from a bit of flaking. Yes i did small areas with the 24% as i was the same as you i couldnt step out looking all red and crusty haha. I will only do a full face 24% when i know i have a good 7 days off work and don't have to go anywhere. The kits from make up artists choice come with good instructions also.
For the nest results do your entire face, forehead, cheeks, down the jawline and chin and jaw.
be sure to apply it correctly and get the dimples in your face!
i did 3x tca cross with 100% tca, then just dove in at deep end and did 25%.at this strength you will notice difference in your skin texture and scarring.it heals up over time as your skin thickens as it heals then you get more noticable changes.
can only say positive comment after doing my second treatment,i am currently on day 9 of healing.i frosted my skin,it wasnt heavy but it was there.i just left it to neutralise itself then washed and moisturised.
it realy hurts but it calms down but without the pain you wont get the gain.its supposed to pentrate your skin and this pain is the acid working, once the pain gos its neutralised itself as its dissolved skin tissue.
healing is similar to tca cross, you get peeling/scab,after 5-7 days its gone then you notice your skins reddish, its pigment that occurs when your skin starts healing itself,it will go away usual in 7 days or so then you notice how pale your skin is.then further healing for 2 more weeks and your own skin pigment should return.
the new skin should plump your face and stretch your face, the scars get stretched and plump as the bottom lifts as its stretched.
touch your upper cheeks and pull the skin like a facelift, this is similar to tca peel.as your face swells from the tca you will notice you got like 0 scarring.every single blemish on your face will miraculously dissappear but your face becomes crinkley, that peels.
your skin returns to normal after round 6 days.what you see is what you get but it will get better over next 3 weekish, then you can do another.

Hi Quadboy,I'm interested to get your opinion since your posts on TCA peels have been so informative and helpful :). Why do you suggest doing a full face peel for better results. Is there a scientific reason?Wouldn't the concentration/depth of the peel matter more than the area? Let's say my scarring is severe but is concentrated on one cheek (not actually true for me unfortunately lol). I would think that it would be better to peel the entire cheek, but leave the rest of the face untouched so that my body can focus it's energy on healing that one area? Also, not to risk damaging skin that is currently healthy.
@QuadboyYou are brave for diving head first into 25% tca. The thought of doing that at home scares the hell out of me. I might do it professionally first to get an idea of how I heal and what percentage I can tolerate.
I think if you are doing it at home, getting a pre-made kit like from Make Up Artist's choice is a safer bet. I just would not feel comfortable doing the diluting myself because I don't want to take a chance and f it up.
Reson to do full face apposed to areas?
unless your face is perfect bar a small area then you gonna have imperfections that you might as well treat.why treat an area and then look at your face and think you should have treated that scar or that wrinkle.tca peels work best when done all over as your entire face has new skin to grow,it stretchs and pulls from multiple directions so you get benefit from all over areas than small confined ones.
i am loving tca peeling at round 25%,its working wonders for me after 2 treatments on boxcar (shallow) and other tinier scars, like small rolling or ice picks i tca crossed.
i dived in at deep end with tca crossing with 100% and did it 3x with noticable improvement.so,i knew or thought i knew i could tolerate 25%.
it realy opens your eyes when your face swells at the start as you see the scars and imperfections magicaly dissapear and see what you would like like if it was all gone, should spur you on to persue the desired results.
my face quite literaly changed,in morning my scarring plumped up and levelled out and at end of day returned to what it was like but after a few days you realise its not quite returning back to normal, its training itself and slowly healing each time and you see the scars and face transforming, ontop of that your face feels great overall,no wriggling,no crap sensations, just great.
2 more weeks to heal after doing my second and am looking forward to doing a 3rd.
@QuadboyWhat skin type are you and do you get hypergpigmentation? I have ethnic skin type and reacted very poorly to co2 laser, so I am wary of resurfacing procedures because they cause darkening of the skin for me.
