I have been struggling with horrible acne for years now, it's driving me crazy. I have visited my doctor several times and was prescribed Erythromycin, I also tries using Benzoyl Peroxide treatments in 100 different ways but it never got better!

My skin isn't very oily, if anything it's dry. The acne itself is dry aswell, and if I gently rub it with my hand parts of it flake off. It has recently spread to the back of my neck also.

If anybody has any tips or suggestions I would appreciate it loads!

Well, I'm here with a bit different problem now: trying to get rid off my post-acne...Anyway, have you tried something less aggressive than everybody suggests here? Simple professional cosmetics can help + keeping the diet + drinking lots of water. Ive tried it! Im not a cosmetologist of course but I like it and I think, it works! I had an awful skin (spots and breakouts, u know) and tried lots of things. So, decided to experiment with CLEAR by Anna Lotan (Israeli stuff), as well. It just couldnt get worse. In smth like 3 weeks it started to be better, not kidding! It took me 2 months to forget about spots on my face. Besides, it doesn't dry the skin but on the contrary, hydrates it, smoothes and moisturizes (there's no alcohol or chemicals and almost no preservatives in it). Right now Im struggling with the post-acne only (got a lot of work to do) but yet, theres a huge improvement! Not sure, it's possible to buy it online as it's kind of professional-thing and only cosmetologists work with it. I just know about these products from my beautician who has once offered me to try it. Good luck!

This looks like yeast acne to me. Try an oral antifungal. Dandruff shampoo and jock itch cream can help but there are different ingredients in different brands. Alternate between selenium sulfide, pyrithione zinc and ketaconazole. Same with topical antifungals (lamisil, lotrimin, clotrimazole). Moisturize with eucerin with SPF 30. It's worth a try and good luck!

Hey! My acne was very similar to yours, I've been using a manuka honey (mgo 400+ is the most potent) and ceylon cinnamon mask daily and it has almost gotten rid of half of it if not more, the change is incredible. I suggest you give it a try.

Don't forget to minimize stress as much as possible as that plays a large role, have faith that you wil get through this!

Good luck! 🙂 God bless

I feel you. What worked for me was gentle cleansers with salicylic acid (.2%) Took a while but eventually it worked. I am sure you've tried this but if you stick with it and pay attention to your diet and stress levels, it will work. Obviously stay away from fast food, unhealthy coffee and sweet drinks and make sure you exercise. i.e: yoga, treadmill etc. Good luck.
