Hard Water Causing My Acne

Hey, I'm 19 and haven't really gotten a lot of acne throughout my puberty years and in the last 5 months it's hit me pretty hard. I've been on the Regimen for about 8 weeks and have been taking all the supplements that are suppose to help acne. Since I haven't gotten any results, I started to look around as to what has changed. My diet has changed a great deal, but I didn't have a good diet before now either. My sleeping schedule definitely is worse now, but I don't think that's all the problem. I recently was deployed from an area with soft water, to the Great Lakes area, which has hard water. It's over 2 times as hard as where I'm from. I think it's a combination of the climate change, (humid and hot to dry and cold) and the water here. So my question is, now that I have the acne, do I have to get rid of it with topicals, or when I move back home in a bout a week, will it sort itself out?

I doubt the water hardness will make too much difference, but the change in humidity is definitely a factor- your skin will become drier & produce more sebum to protect & moisturise itself. Try and see and doctor or dermatologist if you get chance & you'll likely be prescribed antibiotics, or stronger topicals.

yup i think so that climate change can trigger acne as I am having this problem there is a huge climate change in my area like increase in humidity so i am thinking to leave it and just wait for the climate change which is best or better for my skin.

Yeah.. You can google just about anything and find an article on it. These have absolutely no quality references.

What about this one?

http://www.purewatergazette.net/rethinkingchlorine.htm

My hometowns water doesn't have chlorine in it. It's filtered with chloride and sodium. Where I am now has chlorine and many more minerals

http://www.cityofwestsacramento.org/civica/filebank/blobdload.asp?BlobID=8192 there's a list of the chemicals in the water I have at home. The water hardness is 3.63 and the water hardness in gurnee Illinois is over 8.

That one is trying to sell you something. The references also seem to all be about cancer, which is hardly discussed in the article itself. Anyway, if disinfectants wern't added to water, we'd all be constantly ill with bacterial infections.

Be careful with what you read on the internet, even if it looks legitimate. Even published, well-intended studies & scientific articles aren't necessarily high quality.

If you're absolutely convinced it's the water, just use bottled water as much as possible for the time being.

Your right, but it just seems to make sense too me. Here, my skin doesn't even feel the same, it's ridiculously dry(no matter the moisturizer I use), dull, itches, and acne prone. And it's not just my face. My back, shoulders and legs are getting affected as well and I get dandruff. I've never had any of these problems before I came here, and every single article I've read about the subject, outlines the things I'm experiencing. It has to be the switch in water, as well as the switch of climate (humid and hot to dry and cold)

I'm just updating so far haha. I got home 3 days ago, and I've gotten no new pimples or anything yet. Everything is drying out and healing. I have a lot of clogged pores but I started using a salicylic acne wash, so hopefully in a few weeks they'll go away. I also started eating healthy again and getting sun, so that may have helped as well. Way less stress here too
