I also have a bump on my nose after a cyst some four-five years ago. I think it's overgrown connective tissue on the site of inflammation, rather than a sebaceous cyst though, but I'm not sure. In any case, a hypertrophic scar like this seems fairly common on the nose.

I've tried to treat mine with hydrocortisone cream and a silicone sheet, but so far that hasn't worked. I've thought about getting a stronger hydrocortisone cream next and putting it on at night for a while. A cortisone shot should be more effective, but it's hard to get those here and I'm not sure if that would even help. My bump doesn't bother me that much, so I'm not considering any other treatments. Based on my search on the acne forum, people haven't really found appropriate treatments for this, although in some cases laser and some method that I can't remember (cauterization?) have helped. You should probably talk to a plastic surgeon and see what they have to say. If the scar really bothers you and looks visible and you find a very skilled plastic surgeon, getting it excised could probably be an option, though I'd imagine excisions on the nose are fairly challenging. If I were you, I'd first like to try laser or radiosurgery, if the doctor I was consulting thought it was a good idea.

I've thought about this for a bit longer and I think your best bet is seriously going to a good plastic surgeon and ask if they think they could remove it with a nice cosmetic result. They remove moles and other kinds of growths all the time, so this should be a fairly easy thing, really. And if not, they will know best what treatment options you have. My guess is that they'd just simply shave it off, or try a cortisone shot. If not, then laser/excisions might be worth it, but they're a bit more complicated or costly.

If you do go to a plastic surgeon, please keep us updated here. My nose bump doesn't bother me that much now, but who knows when I start to find it annoying and want to know ways to get completely rid of it.

Read on here someone had one for 10 years and it disappeared (I think). I had one last year that disappeared after 4-6 months. Now I have another one. It was a pimple in August 2014, and I think it scarred up. I didn't leave it alone until mid-December 2014, and now it's still here. Hopefully it will disappear in June as that's about 6 months of constant healing with no major damage.

Doesn't look like it made much progress, though. Anyone have anymore information out there for us?

Things and methods I've found there:
Shaving
Cauterizing
Various laser treatments

"Homemade" methods (Caution):
Burning with sun and magnifying glass
Burning with lighter and copper wire

I did an RF sublative treatment about 1~2 years ago (before that, CO2 laser, 1 session at $3k, not too impressed, painful, different dermatologist). The dermatologist actually recommended about 3~5 treatments at $300 each ($900~$1500 total); the nose was one of the areas that was treated.

Anyway, I had 2 very visible nose bumps from large pimples during my teenage years. The good news (or in my experience, these things are hard to guarantee) is that, yes, in my case the RF worked to subside the bumps a bit. After 1 treatment, I wasn't as self conscious as before, so I never really followed up the other 4 sessions.

I could not recall if it was eMatrix, but it was RF technology nonetheless. I had treatment on my cheek as well, my ice picks turned into boxcars... Well, maybe next time when I have more money to spend. Cheers, and don't give up.

Additional note: if you are going to a derm, be as detailed about your problem as possible. It'll help them (or at least, those that aren't out for your money) to assess treatments to your problems better.

Update: an additional thing I should mention:

regardless of your treatment, it is important to find a derm that genuinely cares (or at least, holds onto the Hippocratic oath) for his/her patient. I'd say a safe bet is when the derm discusses at length about your expectation, the nature of the treatment (how many procedures, what cost, what post-treatment inconveniences), and doesn't over-inflate the outcome i.e. they would tell you what to expect, what improvements to expect and what risks.

Have you heard of subcision? You can try that with dermarolling afterwards. But nose skin is very sensitive, so you have to be cautious because anything you do can cause permanent damage appearance wise.

My nose was always red thanks to that stupid pimple, and once it got so bad that I used drawing salve (I think that's what it's called). After a few days a white bump was there (were the re-occuring pimple used to be) and has not went away since! It seems to be a mixture of a scar / sebaceous cyst.

 

It looks similar to this one (altough mine is bit bigger/more visible)

 

I'm 24 now and REALLY want to get rid of it. I guess the only way would be surgery, but I'm not sure wether the scar would look even worse than the bump. Derm told me there's nothing to do that wouldn't look worse than before.

 

I am suffering from rosacea, but having good results with finacea (acel. acid!).

 

Anyone ever had this problem and solved it?

Back to the original picture.... ok. One of a few things. My bet, fibrous papule of the nose or angiofirbroma, or benign IDN or intradermal naves. If this is HARD to tough, pebble stone hypertrophic scar. Solution. Easy... find the answer with a diagnostic and therapeutic treatment. No laser, no fancy equipment, see a specialist who can do GOOD shave excision with a flexible blade. This will give 1. a diagnosis as it is sent to pathology. 2. treat the lesion FLUSH and not over corrected ... I wish you well. 5 day heal time, very little risks.
