Hi all,
So I've been researching the mechanism of action of most readily available acne scar removal products out there. All of them work at the epidermal level, and at that only down to the stratum granulosam at best. Pycnogel and Nerium I reckon go down to the stratum basale. None of the products get even close to the dermis.
Very few things can penetrate to the dermis, maybe ring worms ad some parasites. But basically none of the products/ lasers/ peels out there are working at the level we all need.
In the last couple if weeks I visited a clinic in Harley street, I was told acne is a skin disease (which it is not) and that the dermis can't regenerate ( which it can and was proven by Professor Ioannis at MIT back in the 80s). So basically it seems these skin clinics aren't getting to the cause of our issues plus they don't understand the scar formation mechanism (which again contrary to what all these leading dermatologists say is different for each of the four categories of acne scars)
So I thought I'd give it a shot to develop a method to induce perfect healing of scars.
I've developed some pretty sound ideas, but need to research them some more. I was hoping that since most of us acne suffers will probably have some kind if scarring that anyone who ends this post might be interested in helping develop these scar healing methods. The aim is not to make money but just to make anyone who is embarrassed by their scars less embarrassed.
Just a quick bit about myself, I have studied A-level biology, and biomedical engineering during my degree. I have mild/medium acne scarring which is why im quite interested in this area. I work full time so could really use help from anyone interested in getting rid of scars.
As a brief overview, the method involves reordering the priority of the automatic bodily processes to make the body focus on regeneration. ( I know this is possible because it happens to grizzly bears when they hibernate). The idea is to use naturally occurring phytochemicals to reorder bodily processes and then use an external marker on the skin to tell the body it needs to focus regenerating a particular area. To repair the dermis, it needs to be done from the inside. Repair of the epidermis we can easily do from the outside.
Anyway, if anyone is interested in helping, we'd get it all done a lot quicker. For anyone who is interested, please post here and then we can start translating the theory in to practice.

Sounds interesting. Good luck with trying that approach.
There is also this news:
They regenerated skin 100% in mice which is apparently unprecedented and the same approach may work for humans as well.
Thanks for the link, I studied why the John Hopkins institute were able to regenerate the skin completely. Basically the hydrogel contains enough viscosity, and acts as a frame for the dermis to build itself on to.
Although they don't mention the high level idea in their journal, I think what they tried to do was recreate the environment when a fetid is developing. So the hydrogel gives the body those conditions to regenerate.
It was one method I had down to act like a marker for the body. It's impossible for lasers to regenerate skin perfectly because they don't instigate generation mechanisms, they only instigate damage and repair mechanisms.
The hydrogel seals the wound so that the body does not need to seal with scar tissue, and then it can rebuild the damaged area completely.
