In December of 2020 I began to get pimples around the front of my neck and on the skin just over my throat and didn™t think much of it. I eventually broke out with severe cystic acne all over the underside of my jaw and on the front sides of my neck. It was super painful to the point where I couldn™t turn my head and had to stay home from work and school at the time due to the pain. After doing the medications and treatments below I am to where I am now.

In January of 2021, I began to take Doxycycline 30mg pills to help cure my acne problem. After taking a pill a day for 3 months  I didn™t see any results. My skin was still breaking out around my neck area, chest and back.
Fast forward to May of 2021 I began to take Isotretinoin(accutane) 30mg pills and did that for about a two months and didn™t notice even a small change and my acne was still flaring up.

I finally gave up on trying to use antibiotics to cure my skin from my acne and tried some natural remedies such as applying aloe vera to my skin once a day after showering and the skin on my back and chest stopped breaking out like they had been. However my neck still continues to get really annoying pimples that hurt so bad.
As of right now most of what is left on my neck and body are the Hypertrophic Acne Scars from the Cystic Acne I had on my body. However, the scars left are making my life miserable. They not only hurt to have on my neck but it has ruined my social life. I am embarrassed to go out in public, talk to my friends face to face, go to school, and even go to work to the point that the only place I feel safe is at home. I became very depressed during all of 2021 that even thoughts of hurting myself were always on my mind. I need help! Thanks

There are several things you can try and many help quite a bit.

  • Cryotherapy
  • Intralesional Corticosteroids
  • Intralesional Cytotoxic Drugs

I'm guessing a scar specialist would recommend one of those to start. But yeah, get under the care of an experienced derm or plastic surgeon who specializes in scar repair and make sure you see lots of before and afters from them specifically for raised scars.
